    Very nice!
  5. A little update...rounded out the wheelwell and tried out some different rims. Opinions? Here's all the beefy zinc alloy that lies under the hood...lots of cutting if you want to put an engine in there I'll pick up any additional Studes I see in my local Walmarts, in case some of you can't find 'em. They seem to be in pretty good supply around here...
  6. Just got a set of Fuchs wheels from Mike (shucky) and they are top quality castings, all within a WEEK from order to delivery! EXCELLENT! Thanks Mike!
  7. Good stuff there Mike, shaping up nicely! Got a linky for the aluminum slot car wheels?
  8. Did you buy 'em both Mike?
  9. That studebaker bug has bitten, had to pick up another one today...here's what it looks like before teardown:

  12. Neat build!
  13. Great idea Ken! Very cool
  14. Thanks for all of the positive comments guys! Have always thought these cars were sexy, in an Uma Thurman kinda way I'll try the round rear wheelwell cutouts & see how she looks... Last time I was in Walmart, the newest run of these were black, looks alot better than the baby blue...will be picking up another one for a ProStreet build in the future This is one HEAVY casting guys If planning on an engine, lots of cutting will be required to open it up. I'll be zingin' more metal soon
  15. Welcome to the best place for model cars Mark!!! Nice work with paper/cardboard!
  16. You do really nice work Harry!
  17. Love where you're going with this Mike! Great work so far!
  18. I know alot here do not like messing with diecasts, but to me, if the subject isn't available in styrene or resin (I know, a bullet Stude is available in resin!) then I'll rework one, it is still a MODEL CAR! Anyway, here's a Johnny Lightning 1/24 Studebaker, 1951. Available at Walmart for $15 or so. Not bad looking as is (except for the baby blue ). The " Dear Moebius" thread really got me wanting to start a Studebaker gasser (thanks Casey! post #14) Here it is before stripping: Shaved the door handles, top of fender spears, trunk emblem, fuel filler chrome piece, and enlarged the rear wheel openings. Mimicked the shape of the front fender openings, not sure if I like it or want to make them round? These are mockup pics, still lots-o-work to do, final ride height, maybe different wheels, body work, and something sinister poking thru the hood! Please...opinions, suggestions, and anything else welcome!
  19. More good stuff John! You do really nice work!
