  1. I second that motion, looking real good.
  2. Mark, that may work as well. I will try the sub assemblies, if that does not work then Ill give Mike's tutorial on just the body I try. I hate working with a kit that the body is not exactly straight. Even thou the kit was only $5.00 I still like the car and want to use it as a slump buster over my huge projects that I am stuck on right now.
  3. Great site to boot!!! thank you for the link I will try this as well.
  4. this is a side pic of the warpage, the other side (drivers side) is flat on the sheet of glass, the pass side is that high off the ground behind the front wheel, that's why I say its slight warpage, but it does bug me enough to wonder if all the building and painting then assembly to have 1 wheel not touch the ground. I will mock up the interior and all the chassis parts and see what it looks like. I may try the hot water treatment one more time too.
  5. I picked this kit up still in shrink wrap at my local hobby model car club, and came home to find out the body has a slight warp to it. I know you can usually dunk in hot boiling water to bring it out of the warp. but the last time I did that I ruined the body. My question is if any one has built this same kit with a wrap. does the interior and frame help to bring it out of its warp when it is finished?
  6. Coming together looking really good!!!!!! I love all the scratch building really really cool work.
  7. Thanks Jeff, the bike thing is possible, I do have a cherry bomb 1/25th scale chopper I have not built yet. Just may work for the back of hauler, that and all the tires from the two pete kits I used for the rat rod.
  8. The drivetrain on the rat rod is pretty wide, but will still use the papa truck as a hauler.
  9. Thank you Gator, been real busy life wise, reason for a slow build time. But now that I have the Hauler to build it has re-energized my thought process as to what I can do with both now...................
  10. I also just added to the complexity of the build, I was going to build this for the super boss that I started, then realized that it would be a great hauler for the rat rod pete. It is a little shorter than the super boss, but I think it will look really cool anyway, I can even rat rod out the hauler as well. I may also build something to fill the space behind the rat rod that could be chained down that would be used with the rat rod. Time will tell....
  11. Not much of an update, did get the rear tail light bars installed.
  12. wow this is gonna be some surgery!!!! will be watching this one and seeing how it comes out. cant wait!!!
  13. making the visor for the cab as well, came out pretty good I think so far....
  14. Jeff, yes its two pieces from a watch, I like to add them when I can find a place for them. I normally would have made one on my lathe but a few years back had to sell it to get out of a financial situation. They look good being machined and come in handy as caps using a winder for a watch.
  15. Now working on figuring out how to attach this thing............................
  16. Extended the length and added a skull for the knob.....
  17. tunnel done! have to trim it but have to tie it in with the seat base, now its time for the engine.............
  18. seats mocked up, a little close but still works.....
  19. Scott's version from all the photos that I have show no radiator, now that you mention it behind the spring, right in front of engine would have been a good place for it. I'll figure something out thou. I want a radiator to make it more believable.
  20. A little awkward the tunnel meeting the sheild but I think once painted it will work....
