getting a little work done to this during recuperating, Trying to build the truck Like Scott's is hard as the pics I have do not show the actual attachment points of certain things, so its a guessing game. My front cross member put the engine to far back to hit the cab so had to make some adjustments. Will fill in the tub, but this is where the engine will have to attach at the front of the frame.
now to fab up the mounting of the transmission at the rear........................
I will be out of building for a little while, I had oral surgery yesterday had all my teeth taken out for health reasons, get the new choppers in about two weeks, As soon as I feel better and up to it will be back on here soon....
Thanks guys, I will be out of building for a little while, I had oral surgery yesterday had all my teeth taken out for health reasons, get the new choppers in about two weeks, As soon as I feel better and up to it will be back on here soon....
Ok that is what I had figured that they were still gone. I have them let me see what the best way is to get them to you. I can pm them or email. there are close to 100 pics,
found this a while back been wanting to try it on a build and tried a real quick sample....
This is not permanent but like how it looks, will probably add more lines to it and more rivets but maybe for another part of the build....
Tom, on his forum scale model addict he does have a build thread. That is how I got my inspiration. You can check it out there but after photobucket started their issue with third party hosting, none of his photos were showing up the last couple times that I visited it. Let me know if they are not on there. I have all the photos that were on his thread. In 2013 when I discovered his build I down loaded all of his pics from that thread. If you can not find them pm me and I will get them to you....
Came home after work last night wondering how the frame did after drying. Pretty happy with it. It dried square enough for me now I can get on to fabing up other aspects of this thing....
Mark, not sure yet on the paint, my weathering skills are not where I want to be just yet. I may try to weather, but if it is not looking good I will go with just all flat paint. Have a while to go yet now that the frame is coming together have some more fabing to get everything to fit....
I thought this was going to be easy took my time to cut each piece the same exact lengths and it is not staying level. Clamped it to a piece of glass and a soda can to try to get it level. May have to come up with another frame idea.....
Jay, that thing is killer!!!! I love the color and the chop top. Wish I had done that before cutting out the doors. I also like the front end, I am not big on scratching a leaf system like the one they built on the other forum. I may go your route......... thanks for sharing.
I am with you ours here where I live thou its more like for 6 years, the only thing I get at michaels is jewelry bits and things you can use in the scrap booking section for model building.,
