  1. I stumbled across these on the net recently and like the looks of both of these sissy bars. the top one i guess is from the future back in time as the date stamp is 12/29/2070 but who knew??? the angle of the sissy bar on the bike now would be great for a hang mans noose as it is angled way back over the fender. may try to do one out of solder, or just make one out of scale rope but really like the idea....
  2. It is never easy reading the passing of a fellow modeler, and fellow human being. Sad sad sad news it is. Like most I knew of him, had a conversation with him several times over forum issues, but never really got any farther than that. Thoughts prayers and condolences to his family and friends in this sad time in their life. God be with him now.
  3. trying out something different for an oil tank, not to keen on the kit supplied one anyway...
  4. shortening the seat leaves a lot of room for extra stowage of all kinds of good stuff, the ideas are a flowing now...
  5. thinking about adding some extra graphics on the cover but will see...
  6. I have never liked the his and hers seat. cut it down and more happy with this one....
  7. I never really cared for the look of the chain guard so sanded it smooth, sanded down the hump and probably will add this piece to it,,,,
  8. small update, the exhaust pipes come 3/4 percent, guess they do it to save on plastic but looked really bad I took milliput to fill it in just have to sand smooth now and then alclad them...
  9. almost happy with the scratch built brass knuckles for the shifter....the camera does add width to objects, this thing looks a lot thinner in person but on the screen the thickness of the plastic looks a lot thicker.
  10. redoing the handle bars, I like the way they look with the bike in the pic with the brass knuck jockey shifter. Drilled out and using large diameter solder for the bars, its really soft thou, not to sure how it will hold up with handling and over time.... \ also thinking I may try to use these for head lights.....
  11. and I am liking this paint job may have try that out to always loved the freak drops, and lace panels. so 60-70ish.....
  12. also on the back of the sissy bar trying some ideas with this resin coffin top lid.....
  13. this pic gave me the idea to add a brass knuckles jockey shifter so trying my hand at scratch building one....
  14. Looking forward to seeing it. I am tossing around ideas for the oil tank and other things right at the moment.
  15. No real update been working on adding milliput to the exhaust pipes that were molded half empty. want a more wholesome look to them.
  16. Finally got the forks attached to the bike, I never liked having to trap the forks in the frame because of the seam running down the neck. So i drill out both parts and run a piece of aluminum tubing through both, Which makes painting easy for both the fork and frame, You can put a dowel thru the hole in each to hold while you paint.
  17. I Love the root beer metallic from testors that stuff is killer, Yeah i am not a fan at all with the square tubing, For this one Ill leave that way the second one I bought may go with the round. Yes would love to see some pics that would be awesome as I am on the ropes with this one just building as I go no set plan...
  18. I was thinking it was to big, thank you I probably will stick with it then. I am thinking of using it as a gas cap, a big gas cap thou.
  19. Bob, what color did you go with on your chopper? Do you have a link?
  20. thinking of a skull for the gas cap, its a little big but when sanding the seam and taking off to much of the lip for the kit cap I sanded thru the lip so I cut it out and now have to fill the hole....
  21. It is a neat kit, and I had never seen it when it was first issued so not sure if it is up to the same standards. I do know that there are parts that usually come chrome plated but are not. A lot of the motor parts are not plated as is the gas cap and front forks not plated either, but that does not matter because the front forks would probably be better not plated as there is a loooot of clean up on them. The mold did not match when closed and there is a huge parting line all the away around the front forks that needs to be sanded flat. Also filled in the open area where I guess they tried to save money on molding..... But other wise a really cool bike back out, I am hoping some day they bring back the evil iron chopper, that one I will buy several cases when they do come out to stock up on.....
