  1. Carl, did some sanding and the intake manifold fits better, as far as the spark plug boot Ill just make them real short and bend it. What I do not understand by looking at hundreds of pics of the 1:1 real trucks the fire wall just has a very slight indentation and the real engine does not even get near the firewall, but the models engine actually sits back behind the fire wall. Guess its how they engineered the model. I am close thou.
  2. Not much to update have a lot of bodywork I am working on and the fit issue with the engine and the fire wall, will have more soon hopefully...One of the fit issues was with the air cleaner I was originally going to use was to high and long, did not fit, so I will use this little pyramid shape as an air-cleaner....
  3. Carl, yes the Inca Gold from Testors , I love the one coat line of lacquer paint that they put out. They dry fast and have a good color line, only draw back is that they are thick.
  4. I just have to say this is one of the wildest, best thought out builds I have seen on here in years, I love it...I have seen the bus you have been emulating and I have to say you have done a better job than the 1:1 bus, this thing is totally cool.
  5. This thing is totally over the top and totally insane love it and my favorite build on the board. I do have a suggestion thou on the fuel, not sure how long real water will last for the gas. I build a lot of low-riders and like to add aquariums to them like they used to have back in the 70's and 80's. I found a resin at hobby lobby , its a two part that you mix together. these are the most recent that I built, the top one for my Egyptian raider build, and the bottom one for the Aztec warrior build. It last forever once it sets up in about 8-10 hours. You can tint the resin as you are mixing it with a clear like tamiya clear yellow to get the fuel color. Just an idea.
  6. painted the pieces for the sides of the tomb trailer, more color to come later when the paint is totally dry,.,.,
  7. some real color for a change. this will be the over all color of the engine as well as the truck....It is feeling good to be making some more progress on this build and finally see color........
  8. added the liquid resin to form the water for the aquarium...will paint the metal pieces very soon to complete...
  9. doing a study on colors and hand painting hieroglyphics...
  10. almost finished radiator just need to the holes for the hoses....
  11. radiator almost done just need to add the filler stripes all around the photo etch grill!!!
  12. I would love to join this one as well. Have always wanted to do a community build...
  13. First finish primer coat, I see a lot of spots to fix...
  14. \ final sanding on the trailer tomb...Color finally coming soon....
  15. Joe, it may be too much detail. I did start this one back in 2013, and became such a huge project that I got totally burnt. I do want to get it finished so I am pushing my self to getting it done, with just the truck and the tomb trailer. I want to finish the 1932 car as well but will see how that goes when I get closer to completion.
  16. super clean work thank you for sharing.....
  17. Trailer enhancements for the fenders of the tomb trailer.... not much else going on except a lot of sanding on the body panels to get it ready for paint, and finishing up the radiator to cover it in the radiator material... more updates soon...
  18. I just discovered this build and have always loved the 1 to 1 build you are emulating , your workmanship is incredible and can not wait to see this one finished......
  19. Carl, i can see why its his favorite kit, its a blast to build, so far I have been filing it on the inside of the hump of the fire wall which is giving me a lot more room, the boot for the spark plug wire on that last plug will just be a very tight fit....
  20. This one has been sitting for close to 4 years and will be tinkering with it till its painted and ready to go.... finally found another base for it, I had lost the original tracks and had to find another one to take apart but should be done with this one soon...
