  1. getting there! got a lot of clean up around the holes, then attach the foot rest and scratch the seats...............
  2. Thank you for the vote of confidence. I am gonna try to pull it off this weekend. Hopefully by Sunday night I will have an update with a completed front end.....
  3. I ran across this last night on the net so will try to emulate close as possible to the seat and support.....
  4. Thank you gotnitro? . this is the one that Scott built on his site and this is all I have to go by if I want to build it just like his. I have never tried to do a leaf spring before. I was going thru other ideas for the front end including airbags or some other type of front suspension but may have to try this route. Once I get the front end handled then I will be closer to getting this thing done........
  5. It is starting to look like something now. Have to figure out the front suspension now. I am planning on doing the same as Scott did. But may be real tricky for me. We will see.
  6. getting there, was real tricky and had to shave down the shocks as I made them two long the first time.
  7. got most of the read end layout this weekend, Have to add another two radius bars to it.
  8. Kerry, thank you , I am trying my hand at more scratch building and this project is perfect for that. The hinges idea came from this guy. It was even in the new trucker model magazine. Here is the link..http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/57658-autocar-sleeper-cab/?page=1 I spaced mine way to far apart because I marked the aluminum with a ruler, Ray did his a lot closer together probably by hand but for my first attempt I wanted it more uniform. One thing that I found out about doing it this way you have to cut some space in the cab wall and the door for the hinge to fit between to work, Other than that its pretty easy. It is bigger than scale but a lot more tougher than the photo etch piano hinges from detail master.
  9. Thanks Carl, this one has been in the works for a long time, just now got the drive to finish it however. There is a lot to still work out as I am following someone elses build by just pictures, so all the scratch building is all guess work in sizes and lengths.... but will keep it up now till its done.,,,,
  10. getting the cab attachment locations in and decided that since there is room beside the frame and the door edge that I can add the air brake system tanks in that room and then fully plumb them.
  11. not much of an update. I have been working on the door hinges and getting the lip in around the door, I still have to even out the plastic lip and attach the doors, this hinge method works real good for taking off the doors for painting the reattaching as well.
  12. Jeff, that site is awesome, found exactly what I needed referenced. Thank you very much......
  13. Love scratch building and all of your previous trailers are out of this world......Will be watching with great interest....
  14. I am having a hard time finding real good pics of both sides of this engine for further detailing, Does anybody have a few good pics or know where to find them on the web?
  15. I did not like seeing the starter molded to the engine block, Looked to fake, I am working on scratching a new one....
  16. Thanks Jeff, yes the cab and all kit parts come from the revell snap pete conventional kit.
  17. Still working on the placement of the engine, it is kinda low in the rear. Added some polystyrene to raise it but may keep it low in the rear so with the rack of the suspension it will be level with the road....
  18. almost done with the frame bracing,...
  19. finished installing all the bolt and bolt heads....
  20. Beginning the work on the shocks. Not sure the length needed just yet but got a start...
