  1. gotnitro? Thank you on the tunnel cover, wanted something more stylish than just aluminum sheet, as far as the extra section on the frame, do you mean right in front of the front leaf spring? That section I have to come up with some kind of mounting system for the grill and radiator, not sure if Scott's had a raditor as from all the pics I could not see one but I want to add one. I may have to modify the frame to do so but so far thinking I can fit one in even if its a smaller one from a large pickup or something like that but will see. That is another huddle that I have not put much thought into but will have to soon deal with....
  2. I wanted to do a little different on the transmission tunnel guard than what Scott did. This is an old ear ring piece my wife was done with.
  3. The rear suspension is now glued and finished.....
  4. The front end is finished even with shocks and tie rod. After I lay out the interior I will add a steering box and the drag link.
  5. another update, got the rear end glued in and finalized, also fabricated a drive shaft to mate the engine and rear end. Now on to the cab and engine details now.
  6. Thank you Gator, really appreciate it. I am trying to do more scratch building then just out of box and this project was perfect to work out some scratch building. Just have to keep on pushing on and hopefully be done soon.....
  7. almost have completed the front end, just need to clip the paper clips flush with the plate and add some bolt heads, shocks and shock mounts, and tie rods....... but other than that finally made some good process on this build. I will next attack the rear end and finalize that and then its on to other tid bits...................
  8. wow wow wowowowow all I can say here, love the cabinet work...... Keep it up love to see them come together.
  9. had to design a shim piece to help hold the leaf spring unit, it took away an 1/4 inch of rake but it still looks good.
  10. playing with designs in the foam.....
  11. Radius rod just mocked up here, as I did not think to not glue the axle cross member in and I am having a hell of a time lining up the ubolts and plate to hold it down, not thinking that If I left it loose I could glue that sub assembly together as one piece and not fight getting the ubolts to line up. So just a quick mock up to see how it will look when I get the front end fixed.....
  12. working on seat cushions and got the radius rods done last night....
  13. \ I have been wanting to try these seats since I got my copy of issue #138, back in '09, this is the perfect project to try out the seats. Thank you Dave Zinn for the how to, they really come out convincing without a lot of work!!!! They are not finished yet. Need to add the front bar, then the bracing on the back, was even thinking about making cushions out of milliput, but not sure if I can pull those off but will try.
  14. Thank you Jeff, na I want to get this finished so hopefully I will not get stumped and wait another four years, lol.
  15. Getting there. Needs some more bracing and detail, but getting there....
  16. Started the scratch building of the aircraft style seats............
  17. Added some pie tin metal to hold the ends of the leaf springs, may add a few more near the top.
  18. Geting there, just need to add the mounting point for the front end then get on the radius rods, then it will be engine time....
  19. Thank you misterNNL, I had to do the same thing, dig out this beast from 2013 when I first started it. One of the reason for keeping me going is to not let another 4 years go by and actually get this to the finished pile....
  20. got the front end started. Leaf springs anyway. I think they turned out ok. Hope to have attached to the rig in the next few days...
  21. this is only the start of the bomber seats, have to add the sides and inside of the seats..
  22. Looking real good and I love that satellite dish, totally killer work keep it up....
