  1. Im not a figure painter by far, but think this Aztec Warrior is coming out pretty good. Will have several of them on and around the model.
  2. I usually get bored with the same subject matter to build the same kit, except for if you build a total custom then its nice to build the same vehicle box stock to see what the car or truck was before and after. Other than that for me its one and done.................
  3. It's a 3-d sign foam that is very durable and strong that can be carved to shape a urethane type foam, ever since i discovered this stuff I love it for this kind of work.
  4. Just a little update, not much going on but beginning to paint some aztec warriors and working on the interior layout, will add an aquarium to the interior.
  5. The shaker trike, says 1/25th but actually scales out to 1/12th scale.
  6. Not sure what to call this yet, me and my son were going thru an indoor flea market yesterday as I am always on the look out for models or things i can use for modeling and came across this. the skeleflex and just the stance that the creature had made me think of a motorcycle. so i bought the two they had and so far came up with this: this is what it looks like all built up: not sure where im going with this as i have another major build in the works that is taking all of my time but will continue to keep plugging a way at it to see if it would make an awesome bike build.
  7. Ill have to try that, i thought too it took up a lot of room, was also thinking of scratch building one a lot smaller as well.
  8. Yeah that is not cool i see where your coming from on that, hopefully they will go digital some day. That version would work.
  9. subscribing is the best way to go, i used to wait for it at the hobby shops here and would end up missing one or two then spent all that time and gas so i just subscribed, and you save 15.00 off the cover issue plus all the gas saved as well. its the best way to go.
  10. just freshly arrived, was not expecting it
  11. yes I used to have a couple sign shops and when i went out of business sold everything, then i got to missing what can be done with a cutter but did not want to go bankrupt buying another one, then i came across uscutter.com, they sell cheap vinyl cutters, they are not the quality like a roland, summa, or gerber but for $275.00 they are not bad at all, the sample was cut at 1.25 " and may still come out near .75" so not to bad on quality and very reasonable for a vinyl cutter.
  12. Possible wheel covers... possible decoration on corners of bed.... Human sacrifice in the second bed....... thinking of firing up the vinyl cutter to make some masks for the body of the truck and use them for ghost patterns.......
  13. There gamer pieces, left over pieces from like warhammer 4000 and other games, to get these usually you have to buy the whole kit, like 40.00 plus but i have a gamer store here in town that sells the left over pieces, the store is also a place that they play the games too and build right there so there are left overs, most of the small stuff at .10 to .25 each, a lot of the skulls make great shift knobs, there are endless uses for them. Just glad that shop sells them like this or i would never be able to own them.
  14. went to the gamer store today and found some more stuff to add, addicted to the gamer pieces..... also was stalking michaels today and came across some ribbon, add some white threads on each end, instant mexican blanket, and take out the string in the middle of the sequins and you have instant scale cds!
  15. wow that thing is killer..................................awesome engineering............
  16. this thing is killer i love it, at first thought the frame and body was of a real car. I love threads like this, as dr cranky would say More More and More Eye candy oh and yes take your vitamins......
  17. wow i love that rearend, i have to get working on my lathe to learn how to do that, also need a mill to.
  18. Love your craftsmanship as always Jason!
  19. Hey Jason, first i seen this on the forum, luckily got to see it in person, I love your work, especially your hinging of doors, this one is killer, keep up the awesome work.
  20. I had one just like that in my early years, was 1978 in Benton Harbor Mi was a corner store just big enough to have a few long shelves of hobbies and i can still recollect the musty smell upon entering that store, sad sad days indeed, thing is its the momentum of the change out there, too many on line stores and just waiting for the packages to hit the door step, I have just one lhs here in Albuquerque that caters to plastic kits and I am always worried that one will go by the wayside, it wouldn't be the end of my hobby but like you said its nice to go in to your lhs and talk models and world events..................
  21. have to agree with Jeff on this one, unless you have multiple copies of the same ones, I am always finding uses for parts box stuff. Never hurts to have an arsenal of parts at hand for kitbashing and scratchbuilding.
  22. Thanks KeKe, a little update. working on figuring out what the interior foam will look like.
