  1. two kits that I have always wanted!!!! congrats on the score. In fact i wish they would re-issue them!
  2. my home even at home lol
  3. I called golden press on friday and they verified that they were running late getting the december issue out due to short staff for the holidays but told me that should have it in a week and a half so Im looking around next week should be out to the masses then. I knew something was up cause when a new issue comes out i usually get it within a week of my buds at our local model club getting there sub, so thats why i called gp! It will be here before you know it......
  4. thats how i feel exactly. the few digital magazines i have downloaded I do not read as much as the paper ones, i like to see what I am buying, hold in my hands, and enjoy where i wish to, even if i go camping or go on vacation i always manage to have my paper mags come along with me.
  5. just dont drop it in the toilet or bath tub, course if you drop your paper magazine in a bath tub or toilet its just as bad cause it toast the paper..... Digital is fine, except im always worried with digital content and having a computer hard drive crash, I get a few model magazine digital downloads off of magcloud.com model car builder and lowriding in scale magazine and have them on my computer but backed them up on a flash drive just incase of a hard drive crash and losing them. I could print them out on the printer but the cost of ink would be outrageous........ anyway going from print mag to digital is a matter of when not if...............but im with a few other people on the forum, i love to own the paper mags over digital for a lot of reasons, and changing will be harder for me, oh i live on a computer and get alot of other things digital but the model mags love the paper............................
  6. wow just saw this, this thing is gonna be way cool awesome imgination camt wait to see more.
  7. Not a problem im always open to opinions ankd criticizm as it helps me see it from other view points s you need to just go for wild builds there really fun.
  8. Yeah its not that pleasing aesthetically, just playing with ideas at this point, i was planning on hand carving something like i did on 41 chevy build but that took the better part of 8 hours to carve and I didn't want to go that far on this build. Alot of the ideas I come up with will probably change as I go along, but I love to get ideas from people here on the forum cause having other builders see it from their point of view helps me to see the bigger picture.
  9. These are going to be the seats, the shiny parts will be painted to resemble stone work.,
  10. very cool just may have to try this one out thanks for sharing.
  11. wow that is pretty cool love the finished look thanks for sharing.
  12. Lets just build and be happy, no matter what thats what it is all about anyway.
  13. Kostas, I love semis and you have an impressive collection, makes me want to build a semi, been building one for a while then lost interest.
  14. wow i counted over 30 of the same peterbilt, wow very impressive collection, love semis.
  15. I see where Richard is coming from at 1 time I would buy a kit , build it and refrain which was hard from buying another kit before I was done with the current project. Then I got the collecting bug and collected model kits until I had over 5000 of them, and one day when i had no more space to store them, and after two moves got tired of paying to have them carefully moved, came to the realization that in five lifetimes I would never be able to build them all, starting selling them off and using the money for model supplies and paying bills. Now, I regret a lot of the hard to find kits being sold, but I do get why I sold them. I am currently down to about 100 and still trying to sell of the unbuilt kits because what i find my self doing is when i feel burnout on my current project (The Aztec Warrior, or any of the other 30 started, ill go look in the stash to start another one just to burn out on that one, and let it sit in the box) and then you get the point ill just keep adding to the unbuilt pile that I have some never touched in over 12 years. Which isn't unhealthy I just like to finish a model that I have started, but never seem to be able to, the last one completed over a two year process was my hell train build, it was very complicated and took a lot for me to stay on track to finish it, I am trying that with my most fresh and current build the Aztec Warrior but Im finding myself getting off track already. Its a viscous cycle, and there is the building part of the hobby and the collecting end of the hobby as well which are both very good and healthy, but for me I am trying to get all the current projects finished then go back to the process of after the current build being done, go out and buy another new kit and start on that. I say that now but keep going thru the remaining models to see what I want to keep, what I want to build, and not part with, like I said earlier I regret a lot of the hard to find kits I have sold in the last few years but keep telling my self that this is the best way to go. So for me its a struggle, I loved having a garage full (couldn't fit any cars in it) of kits, was like having my own private hobby shop but for me was very difficult to manage, for others would be heaven. Its one of those things that it depends on the person, having multiple kits for me for a current build means if i lose a part Ill have another one so i dont have to scratch build it or go out and find that Kit, Like the aztec warrior I bought three kits of the same 1950 ford pickup that way I have extra parts, like the doors i cut them out and if i did not like the result have another cab, and so on and so forth. its just up to that individual having cartons of the same exact kit. Some kits build up effortlessly and that is another reason. so you see if you want the stash of 5000 go for it, if buidling 1 then going out and buying the next one for your current project works, go with that as well. That is what makes this hobby so unique and so fun, you do with it what you want to...
  16. Lowridering in scale magazine, model car builder are two other ones you can check it out on magcloud.com and order them in either print form or digital downloads, I have em all mostly digital downloads you can read them instantly after you pay for them and they run about 1.99 each. Thing is with Kustoms and Hot Rod Models mag I spoke with the guy that puts it out and sales were so bad hes going to a bi annual schedule so that means only two mags a year and it may even go to 1 issue a year in fact.
  17. Yes it is one of the reason i subscribed, also saves a lot of gas driving all over town looking for it to.
  18. I could have not said it any better well said meaneyme
  19. well said this forum everyone will help out but not the other one..........
  20. I have to throw my two cents in the ring here, I agree with Lee, having all the car model related mags is better than having none at all, I read the other mag SAE Scale Auto Enthusiast , and yes its the same tips and techniques that they ran before, and I cant take another model review, this months has like 13 model kit reviews, I would much rather have more techs and tips than model reviews, yes its great to know if there is a kit with a snag or bad assembly spots but if you dont build model cars and hit a few snags that you have to figure out or work out to make it work then why model? I have almost all the issues (same with MCM bought them all) and in SAE its the same old reworked tips and techniques, every once in a while they will have a new tip but rarely. Thats why to me Model Cars Mag is the best car model mag out there, because I learn something new every issue, may be a new technique in a genre that I do not model as I primarily build lowriders but i know when i get that issue in the mail box i will learn something new, cant say the same on the other mag or finescale modeler, that mag two is the same old warmed up tips and techs..... 1.)In my opinion MCM is the best and is the first on my list of model mags, period thats my opinion not kissing any butt here just saying, every issue i learn something new!! 2.)In my opinion never hurts in this day and age and economy to have other model mag resources, Im sure everyone can agree to that. 3.)Lets all be happy we have this hobby and be thankful MCM is around and we get it when we do, cause I know if it ceased to exsist i would be sorely missing a great publication on my most favorite hobby!!! Period.
  21. Amen george it is a better mag, just wanting to get my grubby paws on my issue, been a subscriber for the last few years and would have had it by now but its running late for me 0:) hope it shows up soon, got a feeling its been hijacked!!! If it was hijacked i can see way its the best one out there.....
