Im determined to have this one done before winter. I can not look at it anymore in the state that it is in with parts everywhere, the time has come to finish it. The casket is gonna have upholstery in it that looks like diamond tuck, and a tv and other things. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!!!

this is looking really cool!!!! -
I read it somewhere on this thread but can not find it now, some one was saying they use a spray can of clear that you get from a professional paint supply store. Im thinking it is Dupont clear but I am not sure. I wanted to get some insight in to what brand to get before venturing out to the professional 1:1 paint stores, any help would be appreciated. I would be using over enamels and laquers. I have always used the clear gloss from testors for years but that seems to lose some of its gloss and shine over the years, so i want to try something new.

cool thanks for the heads up, i would hate to have to start off dipping all the pieces in brake fluid if it messed up on me. That is a really cool color seeing it on your truck, nice build. All parts are now getting a base coat of silver now, and will let that sit overnight then start some coats of color!!!

TJ thank you for your comments as far as the doors I am in no way an expert on hinging, in fact my hinges are huge because I used a really thick brass wire because it was easy to bend, some use paper clips cause they are really strong but hard to bend. Check out Dr. Crankys you tube he has a great tut on video on hinging. Well I have come to a decision on paint, (CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?) after long and hard thinking its down to two colors. I am not going with the original idea with all the patterns cause there just isnt enough room to lay out good patterns on this truck with the round fenders and smaller body panels, and the casket is even more graphics un-friendly, so its gonna be metallic orange for the main body and casket and purple for the fenders, with some decals on top like skulls, barb wire, and things like that. Not going all out on patterns it will speed up the painting process since these paints say they dry in minutes, never used them so will see what happens.

How not to drive a Lambo
Darren B replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
agreed this was a slow crash but what if there was a cyclist on a bike or someone walking, you can do whatever you want with your car or money no matter how expensive the car, just dont get an innocent bystander in trouble doing it. -
My question is how can you counterfeit an auto part? I was thinking it had to do with decals or just using their logo? and im sure the 13 people know who they are talking about now with that out in the open and are probably taking the stuff of ebay anyway. If its copyright infringement they can go after it due to intellectual property. I found that out in the graphics biz I had at one time (reall scary stuff if your on the recieving end of it), and copyright is a gray area all around even if you change up the design a bit. What really cracks me up is them being a car maker, how many times do you see a type of car out there with a specific style of lets say a tail light design and then down the road you see the exact same style on another car, or the shape of the rearend, hood, roofline and on and on and on, now i know its not the same exact down to the last inch or mm, but the thing is they used the idea. I never see car makers in court over that stuff, unless im just not looking.
