  1. exactly what i have used in the past, just boil some water on the stove if your hot water heater doesnt get to hot hold it in the water for a few moments then cold water, worked wonders for me.
  2. Thank you for the info I Was figuring that it was from layitlow.com awesome cals.
  3. Love those decals where do you buy those at?
  4. Here, here im with you on that one too, been a member of The Albuquerque Model Car Club for a year and a half now and regret not joining years ago. Our prez Rich Hensell is very generous with all he does for the club, the hours he spends to find new things , kits , info for us every month is just amazing my hats off to him and all of them.
  5. That would be cool but hobby lobby tends to charge a lot more for the bigger kits and since the price is near 150 now they would probably put 175-180.00 on it .
  6. this will be a killer build can't wait to see progress pics...
  7. I love it! This one is gonna be really cool when its done. Love to see more lowriders here, not a favorite subject for a lot here but Iove em.Keep up the awesome work!!!
  8. Not sure if a bus is considered a truck, looked around the forum and did a search for the london bus and did not find anything, is anyone on the forum planning on building one and posting progress here? I just picked up the kit and need a lot of inspiration and research material to do this beauty of a kit (imo) justice, want to do a super detail on this one.
  9. Good thing to do even with a brand new kit that is in current production as there is a chance of missing pieces or de formed pieces, got the dirty donny van the other day and the back of the van was deformed to the point that it would have taken a lot of work to fix so i took it back in the lhs and they gave me a new kit, just bought the london bus off the shelve, that one was to big to look at every piece In the car but when i got home i checked it out to make sure it was complete and in good shape. Its very rare that they are missing pieces or parts but not that rare either. Its good practice to check them out at least the same day. Unless your an expert scratch builder, a missing part or messed up part can ruin a great kit.
  10. pretty cool kit i like that awesome find.
  11. Could not have said it better, enjoy the trip cause thats whats its all about, remember quality over quantity, any body could build a kit out of box in a few days or week, but what if you spent a few months on that same kit, in theory its gonna be finished better than a week build (unless your a master Like Jon Teresi, seems he can pump out museum pieces in a few weeks, LOL, but thats a good thing). I always say quality comes first then quantity.
  12. Wow you my man are in credible, i love what you have done to this truck and how fast i must be getting to old as it takes years for me to finish one will be waiting to see what you do for paint!
  13. I agree Dr. every since I got it yesterday every time i look at it again I see another killer car or truck for great inspiration!!!
  14. Tony that is a killer site, thank you so much for sharing it, now to get some foam board.........
  15. Thanks for the vote of confidence, thing is we will see how much talent i have if i can paint this thing to look realistic.
  16. Yes they are and just what i needed for this build. I got two sets one for the reapers ride and to have extras, Ken seemed to think that was all they had left, hopefully they can make more if others need them. Its just the perfect size for this scale but probably would work on larger scales. Now just to find some realistic style spiders, and i think ill be ready, problem is every time i sit down to work on the paint and graphics i end up adding more detail to it, its a sickness i guess!
  17. Ian, yeah just got everything pretty much situated after our move so i can devote some time to get back on it, i noticed that your from michigan, what part? I'm from the Benton Harbor area, lived there for 14 years then when my family moved we ended up in albuturkey n.m.. A long way away from home!
  18. I know what you mean, been buying some reissued amts and find out that the older stuff was not engineered quite as good as the new stuff kinda have to do a lot of work to get them to look good, not all of them i want to make that clear have had a lot of good luck on most, some of the semis and the 49 ford could use some re engineering however...........
  19. Decided to instead of the chain wheel to go with this steering wheel i think this build needs some spiders....
  20. For all the followers looking for paint on this build its coming just have a more open mind to looking for imperfections now after getting Yost's vids, i recommend anybody that can get the vids do it, i thought my paint jobs were smooth as glass and close to perfection but after the vids i was way off, and still needed to learn more.......most is in the prep work and there can be no skimping when it comes to the prep work.
  21. Also found another lego bone for a bumper on the casket, and a head from the trucker set from italeri model kit line, for a severed head on the casket.
  22. Thanks David and Cory, well was at the bench last night and after seeing the cab in silver found some places that need some more putty and primer and sanding work, if any one has the Don Yost vids you will really take a look at your builds closer when it comes to prep work (Thank you Don Yost) should be able to get better results after seeing your video. Also took a break from the body work and am adding more stuff. Some spider webbed photo etch from wild hare models C/O Ken Hamilton (for the bed and cab windows) , and some model train parts to the casket.
  23. Yeah just my opinion it looks re-wrapped to me because of the big bunch of plastic in the middle photo at the lower left hand side of box, and I thought the cellophane back then was much thicker too, kinda why when i used to buy on ebay that i would prefer a seller to have an opened box, even if to collect for the shelf, just to make sure it was complete and no damage to the kit, because even as a collector you want the item to grew in value over 20 years and if parts are missing or its partially built it will not bring good money, but then again like someone has said here before he has 100% feed back in 852 auctions should be legit, its hard to keep good feedback on ebay i tried, you can't please everyone and if you are trying to pass used not as good kits off as mint then you would think that he would not have excellent feedback. Should be a great kit then, if you win enjoy and let us know how it comes out.
