  1. Thank you all for your comments, I like the surfboard but it really doesnt fit the style, the way it is now I can leave the board stand loose in the bed and display it with the board and if I get tired of it leave it off all together. Kinda like a duel purpose accesory.
  2. Also have the long board from the grandpas dragster with a motor on it as well. Its longer than the coffin shaped one changes the look a bit.
  3. Came up with an idea last night after going thru some extra parts and decals, a surfboard, then i thought a lowrider from hell would NOT need a surf board but I kinda like the look, what do you all think? comments please.............
  4. Im in for sure, now to figure out what to build and get started.
  5. Man those are sweet, its hard to get scale figures let alone one for this build, awesome work.
  6. Outstanding work can not wait to see the finished car.
  7. Dr. Cranky, that is one thing I want to get done this year, and basically I could finish it soon, I really cant get anymore detail on it, my biggest problem is not knowing where Im going on the paint scheme now. I am torn between my original vision of a high gloss burgundy ghost pattern lowrider paint job or a rat/rod/flat paint job. That is my hurtle now to get over the hump on this build, when that happens it will be all down hill from there on the build and then I can put it in the under the glass section. Can't wait to get there...........
  8. Rob thank you for the awesome comment. I even have amazed me with what I have done to this one so far the craziest i have ever gone on a build actually, and I think I keep adding things to it because Im not sure how to paint it. Originally it was gonna be a candy burgundy paint with a ghost pattern but think I better go with a flat paint/rat rod paint job. Be more realistic. However, any modeller can kick out something like this, for me was discovering how easy the sign foam was to work with, and having a lot of details come together.
  9. Got them cut down and epoxied on the fenders, just need to clean up the edges and primer....
  10. John, coming from such a craftsman and artist as yourself that is an awesome compliment, thank you very much. I'm now trying to stay on top of this one to finish it, this month marks the 13th month that I have been working on it and thats too long, need to finish it.
  11. I will then bend them to fit the curve of the fender and epoxy them in place, after its painted will add red eyes to the skulls socket for lights.
  12. I made a revelation when trying to fit the coffins to the rear fenders for taillights that the coffins are actually made out of solder, so i removed the lids from the coffins and filled the gaps that were in the lid from the hinges with more solder, filed and sanded them smooth.
  13. Awesome work that thing is huge
  14. Wow that wood board Dave is out of sight I love it...........................
  15. wow thank you for sharing scratch building is something that i am getting into more and more and sharing your skills helps us all get to be better modelers.
  16. This kit has a nice sized surfboard and I want to add more so i used the board as a pattern and am in the process of making a copy out of balsa wood. Just traced it on a thick piece of balsa wood and when its shaped right I will add a piece of plastic for the fin. Another view of the surfboard.
  17. Thank you I have a few more nights off from work for the holidays and will be putting in some time on this stalled project.
  18. Found some really cool coffins and some more skulls for this build at our local bead store. I plan on using the coffins on the back of the truck for tail lights. They are on the large size but may cut them down.
  19. More bead store finds for my mans ruin build and reapers ride. batteries amps and Lifestyle window plaque for reapers ride. The coffins on the right in photo will be the tail lights for the reapers ride.
  20. Wow, and havent even seen tv ads for it either, usaully they advertise before it comes out and I havent seen anything, however just in my personal opinion, its very ugly so they should have not wasted their time but thats just me.,.........................Did it have a license plate on it or just a temp sticker? May be it just hit the dealer ships but a license plate means at least been on the road close to a few weeks to a month or later...
