  1. Dont mind at all, its that sign foam stuff I carved it out of like the interior pieces, but this foam was a denser foam than the interior foam, I did it that way because its harder and took more abuse from the carving aspect with files and sand paper, took me the better part of 8 hours to get it to this point as I was afraid of breaking it and having to start over, but did not break it and it came out pretty good, that stuff is a blast to carve, a lot better and stronger than balsa foam. Signfoam.com is where my sample foam came from.
  2. Had a little time to work on the front headlight area and finish the cylinders for the back hydros, wanted it pancaked on the rear to make it the lowest that I can get it. and these cylinders will be for the front.
  3. Thank you. A lot of watches and this particular build is using up my stash will have to find some more....
  4. Cool ill be waiting by the mail box........
  5. Thanks for the comments, on the paint its got to have a lot of skulls and tombstones but not sure how im gonna pull that one off, guess will have to dust off the airbrush and try that, I didnt like the closed off look of the gear on the first rim but like the gear, just gonna go with one that is smaller and give it a more open look.
  6. Thank you all for the replies. Not much done this weekend, basically working on some ideas for the paint and deciding on some knock off ideas for the wheels, got to have skulls of course.....
  7. Yes thanks a ton, i just got the amt kit and want to do a super detail build on it these pics will come in very handy........
  8. I agree, our 3 HL have 2 aisles of kits, good selection but have had the same for years, every once and a while they do come out with a few new kits but then like you said, I still have a life time supply of kits so no biggie to me the last thing i need is more kits, however it does help getting 40% off some paints thou, that helps even if you have to go and get one can at a time, it helps in this economy to save all you can.
  9. In my response I didnt dis ebay as a company overall, my comment that it has become one big flea market however is just my personal opinion and not there responsibility to set the starting price on any item , from the sellers stand point on custom car decals, you are right it is a service just more and more scammers out there in my opinion again. True it is up to the individual buyer and seller, you are totally correct on that stand point.
  10. Quoted from ebay page: As a seller, you're expected to: Charge reasonable shipping and handling costs. Specify shipping costs and handling time in the listing. Follow through on your return policy. Respond to buyers' questions promptly. Be helpful, friendly, and professional throughout a transaction. Make sure the item is delivered to the buyer as described in the listing. For more information on meeting buyers' expectations, see our selling practices policy. Keep in mind, too, that if you don't meet buyers' expectations, it can lead to: A bad experience for you and the buyer Low detailed seller ratings (DSRs) Negative or neutral Feedback from buyers A buyer opening a case in the Resolution Center to fix problems Says last line, make sure the item is delivered to the buyer as describe in the listing. That doesn't tell the seller in this case to ship the items. I used to sell on ebay and would not get the price i wanted for an item, but i would still ship the items, its a case where the seller is just being childish, and should be banned, if he wanted more for the kits he should have started the auction higher than or do a buy now for the price he wanted. I too no longer sell or buy on ebay, as a buyer the shipping has gone up, even thou as a seller it cost way to much thru usps to ship just a 1lb model kit so i see the pros and cons for a buyer and seller but there are a lot more scammers on ebay now as sellers..........it in my opinion has become just one big flea market as far as prices go, i used to sell custom decals and 10 years ago you could sell them for a good price but now sellers start them at 1 penny and usually no one would bid more than that penny and the seller would try to rip you off on the shipping, just driving down the expectation of a buyer on what the cost of a good custom decal should cost, good luck to you on whatever decision you go with, im with you he decided to start out low, (not sure what the auction started at) and he should man up and send the kits, I cant believe he would risk a negative feedback because i would fight to make my customers happy because negative feedback and it didnt take much to drive down your rating. I would fight it too but if ebay cant make him send the kits make sure to at least leave him the worst feedback possible...............
  11. Thanks Edward, im surprised i even built something like this, like i was saying a page or so back that this originally just gonna be a simple little lowrider pickup truck build with some custom paint and my first real hinged doors on a build, but has turned into a monster headache build. Its everyone that comments and continues to watch the build that keeps me going. Thanks again to everyone that is following along with the build I promise ill get it finished sometime so it can finally get to the underglass section!!!!
  12. Thanks both Luis and Cruz, I have to say it is probably the only over the top build that I have built so far, I usually have them in paint by now, but not on this one, im trying to not get anxious to rush it done, my major issue is going to be getting all the stone work to look good and not cartoonish, even thou that would be ok for a show rod type car Im wanting it to be painted to look more realistic than cartoonish.
  13. This build after all the items being used by reapermini.com they should use it as a promotional piece to advertise the use of the gamer miniatures in other forms of hobby building.....
  14. Thanks again everyone for your awesome comments, its whats keeping me from putting this nightmare of a build back in the box. Ok now the grill is taken on a different shape than originally planned, i spent 8 hours carving out the grill surround out of the sign foam because I was going to have the spiked chains something to mount in and I wanted to keep the stone look to continue to the front of the truck. However the spiked chains are so bendable that I was having a problem just getting them shaped to the shape of the front of the truck, so im thinking about putting 5 of these skulls with spinal cord in the grille like an old fifties grille look. Let me know what you all think as the shape of the foam is giving it (in my opinion) a goofy smile look to it. Of course all the skulls would be looking straight ahead of course just had no way of doing a decent mock up for the display. Also was thinking of adding this on the tailgate, its off of the gamer details that came with the spikes, unless it will turn into a copy right infringement issue that is....
  15. Good even thou its hard to replace an nice old running truck that could have made it probably another 100,000 miles man sorry that that had to happen to you thou.......
  16. I hope the neighbor has insurance or some why to pay for the damages!!
  17. Thanks guys for the comments, check out www.reapermini.com they have the dark heavens line that i have gotten all my stuff from and they run from about 5.00 - 10.00 each , which isnt to bad, its when you get into the warhammer line that it gets really pricey some kits up as high as 80-90 dollars must starting at 30.00, I have 79.95 in all the little kits I got for my build but thats 11 different little packs..... There are more brands out there you can probably even get them on evil bay if you go that route they may be cheaper, but you have shipping. Check out a gamer store in your area to get an idea what they have.
  18. Thanks guys for the suggestions, i have made my decision and that is to just show the springs on the cups of the hydro cylinders that will be right on the axle that (will fit) and still give the idea of the hydros pancaked flat on the rear. The front will have full cylinders. Well I couldnt leave well enough alone and decided to go with my original idea for spiked chains for a grill. Back to the gamer store. There bendable so just have to make an edge all the way around that I can attach them to. and with the extra parts left over from the pack will have more chains and spikey things to add to the truck somewhere.
  19. you have to build, collecting kits if fun, but building is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better fun!!! Open a kit and no matter how it turns out build it, as you go along skills get better and so do the builds..... I only average 1 maybe 2 builds finished a year but try to do more for time reasons.
  20. Wow i want a job only working weekends, that would be cool, as I only average 6-8 hours a week
  21. Thanks Dr.Cranky, no updates at this point, im stumped on how to install the hydros for the back axle because there is not a lot of room to put the cylinders under the bed without coming up thru the bed and changing the look of the stone and rats. Spent 8 striaight hours yesterday looking on the net and lowrider madazine and nothing is working out...
  22. Wow they used a chevy celebrity? I have a stock 89 celebrity and that thing is a dog,,,, not to mention it only starts up when it wants to... (Hopefully your department had the eurosport edition) I would be very interested in seeing your build on a 86, i built the 80 citation as a lowrider but the body matches pretty good, if yours was a four door could be some major body work coming up thou. Im routing for you and anxious to see the out come.
  23. Thank you Ron, another small update, still working on body work and doing some studying on the painting of the foam and all the little parts and trying to come up with a overall color for the outside of the truck, did get the rear hydro cylinders built however.
