Undead Nightmare
Darren B replied to evilone's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Awesome start and that is one Looonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg frame and a great job at zing it. Cant wait for more. -
Thanks for the comment. Evilone suggested candy red or brandy wine with some patterns done in gold and silver as your base, which is a pretty good idea since there will be a lot of bones laying around the bed and interior, and probably some blood, so something deep red or burgundy would look pretty cool and tie it all in.

One thing that i want to add for anyone working with this signfoam or balsa foam, please wear a respirator and a good one. It produces a lot of dust in the air and surrounding area on your workbench and if you breathe in this dust it will really mess with your lungs. I can tell I didnt use mine and im having some difficulty breathing, next time i will be more studious and use mine around this stuff. So for sure use a respirator!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome evilone, I will be watching this one with great interest. Can't wait to see this get some progress now. -
Small update, thought I would carry over the interior theme to the bed cover. Added some more small details to the back of the interior and started to work out a headliner for the roof. and my son had some bones from a lego set that I will be using for some nerf type bars in place of bumpers wrapped in barb wire.

I agree, it might have a large gap but even that gap can be disguised somehow.

With the way the economy is anymore who in there right mind would not make a sale, any sale of any amount, because they do not want cash? Man that just sounds insane. I had a small business for a while and I would take cash, credit, check, trade, first born, anything to make the bills and payroll. Where is this country and world going to? You cant get better than cash! well unless its counterfeit, but you can get a pen that checks that to make sure its real money anyway. Just plane nuts.... -
Im curious too so i can get my copy from the lhs they only get a few copies and my subscription that i sent in for is lost in the mail somewhere, just called golden press and they have not recieved it, i sent it over 4 weeks ago....

Cool I have a few more projects ready to start but before i cut the body panels want to make sure i can use a more realistic style hinge. One thing i was thinking of is that for trunks the wire hinge isnt to far off for looking ok. As looking at my trunk hinge its pretty close, but not for the doors...

I wouldnt call it crazy at all, if your that much in love with the '55. I just won my first kit of the 55 convert at my lhc. I usually dont build more than one of a certain car, because I get bored doing the same kit or same kind of vehicle. But like i say i wouldnt call it crazy because of the fact that you like that particular style and year of car. There are cars I wish I could bring myself to make more than one.....

a little update. Finalized the dashboard and fitted to make sure it will fit with the larger door panels and its looking pretty good. Added what Dr.Cranky would call gizmology to the lower part of the dashboard as if its working device in a dungeon door or something. Also decided that grim should have a back rest on his seat and some spikes around the seat base. So grim gets a back rest of barbed wire.

Fast 5,......Really ?
Darren B replied to kingiguana's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You are right and what I dont get is that after they steal the gas and he tells dom that they raided the garage, he says I hear they are doing some crazy ###### in toyko (which is movie 4), which places him there for toyko drift but what I dont understand is if he went to toyko and now hes in 5 when will toyko drift play out in the number line of movies? -

I wouldnt doubt it the franchise making some series money. -
I too have a few old Aztec double-action airbrushes and I still prefer to use my Aztec over my Thayer and chandler and paasche air brushes.

Just a little update. Got the bone packs and althought they are bones they seem to scale out to at least 1/35th scale. I put a femur by a 1/35th scale soldier and it looks kinda close. Added a little more to the dashboard as well, its going to have some axes on the dashboard. I am now done with the metal stuff now, just added up the total and spent $56.00,that added up fast before I realized what i bought on all the little metal things, I believe I can finally finish this thing, and its getting heavy from all of the little metal pieces. Next update probably will be in another week as its getting busy for me at work again. Going to concentrate on the pumps and batteries and getting the rear end fitted to the chassis. Also need to figure out what to do with the front axle.
