Darren B replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
mine is the morgan three wheeler that i just found at a club meeting for $2.00!!! It is just a really wierd vehicle and this kit is 1/16th and a really detailed kit of the morgan. -
Just a little update I was cleaning out a drawer and found an old halloween bracelet with about 20 little skulls on it so i was playing around with what i could do with them so i cut one in half open up the eyes ran some scale barbwire thru one socket, and a knife thru the other and think it may look good in the grirll area, like one in the middle or two with one on each side...

July Issue- did I miss it ?
Darren B replied to mikemodeler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I concur Dr cranky awesome improvement -
cool i just emailed round 2 to see if they are planning on ever reproducing the boss bike, looking at the box art that would be a cool build, i have almost all but the other half of the front fork the wheels, handle bar and a few other things, just not that great of a scratch builder to make it from scratch.....

I was not sure what part of the forum this should have been put in,but I was wondering what the extra parts were for in the Ice Cycle kit, im not sure if they were put there by mistake by amt as the instruction sheet has no reference to them, at all. I was just wondering if anyone else on the forum knew what kit they were intended for? They look old school chopper style and the two pieces form like a wierd looking side car. It would be cool if it had the rest of the parts to finish it. If anyone has any idea what they were intended for I would be curious to know what they were for.

I do know that round 2 had postponed the bugaboo but havent heard anything about it not ever coming back to kit form. I hope it does been waiting on that one a while.... -
Not only am I amazed at your abilities, but with your speed, it takes me forever to get anything done, but thats another story. For me I have never planned out a build, (well except for maybe what paint color i was gonna use)it just comes as I go along, most of my lowrider builds evolve as I go. Even my recent build that was going to be just an easy lowrider build of a '41 chevy pickup build. Now it has become a major build and did not intend to go so over board with the build but 1 thing led to another, and now im knee deep in a table of crazyness...................

Rustoluem sprays and their Colorshift Galaxy Blue
Darren B replied to RickRollerLT1's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Yeah it seems pricey and it is, but for results like that its worth it. Ill have to save up and try a can. Brilliant thanks for sharing with us. It really looks cool on the frame and the car body! -
That thing is beautiful, you did an awesome job on this beauty.

David, you are right when you think about it especially since if this was a real truck it wouldn't even move if in reality it was really stone, so I do understand where you are coming from. The only reason that I have fought to design the hydros into the build still is because originally I had not even thought about the stone work, it was gonna be a mild lowrider pick-up with hydros and wire wheels but one thing led to another and then I discovered the sign foam and then discovered gamer pieces and then on and on. I did at one point decided not to put in the hydros but then I went with just the hint of springs and cylinders on the back because a real truck lowrider the cylinders would go up thru the bed but didnt want to mess up the stone work in the bed with the rats, but will have the full cylinders on the front only if they fit around the engine.

John, this is going to be another masterpiece and as always look forward to seeing the completed build. Just out of curiosity just how much of the original kit is left over after the build? I know it leaves a lot for the spares box and I love how you just take a few items like the engine and then build the rest from scratch, I'm trying to hone my scratch building skills instead of just kit bashing and between Dr, Crank and you I have learned a lot, keep up the awesome work as I will be eyes all over this build.

Just received my copy, as always an awesome read!!! -
old business cards are great for that too. Light and easy to cut to different shapes as well.
