  1. I would love to see how you would have painted this one. If I had the money and you would do It I would ship it to you for a Cranky 1 of a kind paint job. You would do this thing justice on the paint. I am a long way from paint i'm afraid, my next biggest thing is getting the door panels figured out and what Im gonna do on the interior to match the style of the bed and a reaper/gothic/halloween style build.
  2. Just a general layout of what it could look like when finished, getting ideas on where to place all the pumps, batteries, and audio equipment.
  3. Didn't get much done on it last week, (slammed at work) however last night I worked on the opening in the bed cover. Got it coffin shaped now I have to box it all in.
  4. slapshot that looks fantastic!!! Man I need to get off my duff and get to really working with this thing. Make some upholstery...Great work Slapshot love it, it came out great.
  5. I totally agree, yeah its upsetting that it comes when it feels like it, it seems but we all have to be appreciative that we have it, it Greg decided to give it up and no one else took over all we would have is the "other mag" which basically doesnt have any good content, last months was weaker than the one before and that one is bi monthly in reality. This argument can go both ways but for my two cents Im just happy to get a copy when it comes.
  6. Thats one of the reasons that I do not subscribe to the magazine, for one i have a messed up mail box and if the mail man shoves it in wrong it destroys the cover, and in the summer for some reason the mail carrier uses my mags to hold all the mail in his hands and it looks as if it was used as a coaster. So i just pick it up at the lhs when it comes. And I love every page of it, it is the best mag out there for our hobby.
  7. Daniel, you my friend are a true artist. Do you work on full size 1:1 cars? You should because your metal work is very, very impressive. Want to see this one done for sure.
  8. Man this is looking sweet, dont give up, your work is awesome and the engine is looking great! I have an original testors edition of this kit that I got at a consignment shop for $40.00 and have gotten the engine block built and part of the frame built and then it has just sat in the box for 6 years, I want to finish it but no inspiration. Your right the engineering in the kit is mind boggling and its such a great scale for super detailing, I wish I could get the motivation to finish mine.
  9. That looks Awesome, The pins look great to me. I wish I had time to try it myself, been so busy at work no time!
  10. Awesome kit, yeah i miss those days when wally world had the 5.00 kits. Man I wish they would bring back models. I mean they even have stuff for cross sticthing now and beads for jewerly making but they cant bring back even a few dozen kits. Doesnt make sense. In 2005 I worked a block away from a walmart and every lunch hour payday would go pick up 2-3 kits every week. Man the good old days...
  11. I know what you mean, I was surprised to however I just found out about it last night when i was entering some build ups in a constest for supernationals and over heard someone telling someone else bout it, so I just got in on the left overs so they may have had some higher prices to start. But do know what you mean I was surprised my self, specially on the mack truck being still wrapped in plastic for $6.00. I don't get lucky this often!!!
  12. Found these at my lhs all 4 for $16, my lhs had found an estate sale with thousands of kits. Why can't I ever come across a sale like that?
  13. I have been playing around with medical gauze/tape for the coffin pleated look, here is a shot of it, the medical gauze/tape comes white but I sprayed this sample flat black. just glued it down to dash with liquid cement then painted after it was dry.

I love these cars, some of the best ever!!! Ill be watching this with great interest. Awesome work so far. Keep up the great work.
  15. I like that idea with the dark charcoal metallic as a base that could be used and then airbrush skulls and other reaper type images on the charcoal in a lighter color like silver that would show thru the transparent candy red for ghost patterns that works, i like it. Ill have to work something out like that maybe on the fenders and running boards is what I had in mind for that, then on the bed and body could do a contrasting color to set it all off! Have to wait on that any way too cold to paint here till bout march, but that will give me time to work out some kind of lowrider suspension and how im gonna make it all come together. That's my next hurdle getting it to sit right.
  16. Yeah its fun either way and I am not complaining, just seems like with all the money and time i have involved would have more finished then i do now. But hey thats what its all about right?
  17. Man that sounds like me to a t!!! especially bout the WIP for 15 years, i have plastic storage boxes in the garage full of partial builds, mostly paint that has been drying for years and years. Im just glad its just not me!
  18. Also thinking that Two buckets look cool but... thinking 'bout something different like a cyclops single seat, since im thinking of calling it grim reaper, grim would only need 1 seat!
  19. Last year was a record for me I guess, I finished three models, the 72 hurst olds for a contest, rsx acura lowrider (acutally not done still needs radiator hoses and mirrors) and the Lil stogie. I was looking at the forum the other day and seen models already finished for 2011 and was wondering if i am obsessing to much on the details and not finishing enough builds. I have way to many started and not finishing anything. Just wondering if this is the same for a lot of other people out there or if Im just not working hard enough?
  20. This is what I have planned for the bed, boxed in with a coffin shaped opening that will house the batteries and pumps, amps and speakers beside it. The opening will extend to the floor board of the bed to be 3d and in the sides of the opening can install other items like more amps and speakers or other stuff. I did it on another truck that i never finished and it was looking pretty good on that truck, should look good on this one. In fact using a coffin shaped opening could call this truck the grim reaper then.
  21. That is one awesome kit have to get a couple dozen, well at least maybe afford 1!
  22. I love builds like this, this will be a beauty when its finished!!!
  23. The bed I was thinking of flush mounting the amps and speakers, and making the inside of the box coffin shaped and then put the pumps and batteries in that coffin shaped area.
  24. Awesome site. I love the concept Honda Cyclo that is my favorite, always has been since I seen it in a magazine. You my friend are an awesome builder, Keep up the good work!!!
  25. Not really but my last two lowriders were green so it wont be that the the two before that was burgundy metal flake with ghost patterns. 1 Color does stick out and that is a candy orange. Im open for any suggestions thou.
