  1. been wondering the same thing, I know it can take a little while for it to come out but this time just seems like its been longer than usual.
  2. I had the same thing happen with testors clear gloss. The can was fairly new and once I sprayed it, it came out yellow instead of clear. You could of had a bad can of clear. I suggest using clear coat in from a bottle that you can see if its clear or not then airbrush that on, if you have an airbrush.
  3. Cool, i was beginning to wonder as well.
  4. Have the same kit, wanting to super detail it too, I will be watching this build with great interest!!!
  5. WOW!!! You have done a fantastic job on this kit. I always marvel at someone that has the ability to take a pile of junk, take it all apart and put it back together the way it should have been built in the first place. You have a lot of skill and patience to be able to do what you do. Love the work, great job!
  6. Thanks to both Marks for a quick reply. It helps with how to finish it as mine too is badly warped and just to sit the top half on the bottom half won't work. Thats a good idea about opening up the body and glue the top to the bottom, I to hate the seem line going down the side of the body.
  7. AMT re-issued Digger Cuda question, I did a search on the forum but didn't find what I was looking for. My question is on the Digger Cuda car that was re-issued thru round 2, is it a fictional dragster? or was there a real car built like it? and if so was the body made to open up? the instructions do not really specify if it to be glued together or left open. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Yeah I will be following this build. I can tell by the rims, tires, and frame that this is gonna be a quality build. Are those scratch built tires? Laminated plastic shaped to size? They look like It and they look awesome. Welcome aboard, glad you joined us!
  9. Man I can't get over this collection, man there are tons of kits, kits i have never seen before. Awesome collection. It looks like a hobby shop!
  10. I'm the same way, for the parts, or the decals, or tires and wheels too!! Actually I could afford 3-4 kits, before i got married, LOL, now im lucky to get 1 copy of a kit im looking for!
  11. wow where did you get it mine was $50.00 too!!
  12. Never thought of that, thats a great idea, they will last a lot longer too!
  13. Man I love this build!!! I love lowriders and making a muscle car a lowrider is just plain genius! question for you lownslow, what did you use for the tires on the supremes?
  14. Also about emodelcars.com. i'm not sure why its not more popular, i mean come on its FREE!!!. I am listing some on there and will promote it more, because no matter how slow it is you have to remember that its free. Thank you Gregg for keeping it free, i truly appreciate your efforts to help out the fellow modeler, with out you we wouldn't have model cars mag or the free auction site!!!
  15. I have to give my 2 cents because Im from the camp of regret. there your kits and its up to you what to do with them, but I have had about 350 kits now about 100 and regret everyone sold. Now i used the money on some of them for more supplies, paint, tape,. etc, but the one i regret the most was a rsr turbo 1/6th scale porcshe from entex, sold it to help pay some family bills but will never be able to find that rare kit again. I bought if for $150.00 and got a great deal more for it but they once in a while show up for aroudn $1200.00 now if you can find a good clean copy, sold some 1/12 porshces, etc,.. Now everytime i think of them that tinge of regret rolls in. Just don't want you to feel that regret later!!
  16. Yeah thats part of it!!!
  17. Thats good to know, I too was really worried about it when I seen it because This is the only forum for me and if it went down for too long,.! well its just a scary thought. Its the only site on the net that is worth being a part of!
  18. All of them are great ways to go about it. I have always used Glazing-Spot putty, but may try the super glue myself.
  19. Yeah I agree with everyone here great save.
  20. Printing out marlboro? would this include downloading an image of marlboro and printing on your own computer to apply them to your own model? If so man they are strick. Course I should know all about copyright laws, got another one for you. I have a vinyl cutting business and I used to advertise on our site the got milk? saying and the milk board of california, sent me a cease and decist letter saying they copyrigthed the saying got milk? and if i didnt take it down they would confiscate all my equipment and sue me for a whole lot of money, so i can see the marlboro thing!
  21. You know what that is an excellent idea, never gave it a thought. That would work the only thing is I don't have one in the collection at the moment. What kits being produced currently have opening doors, it doesn't matter what year or make of car because if i can find one that would help seeing how they engineered it to butt up to the floorboard, thats my biggest issue right now.
  22. This may be a very dumb question. I am trying to start work on a revell 1/12th scale 1969 camaro and being a larger size it has potential to super detail the entire kit. However every time i do a search for pics on the engine and tranny i never get any pics of them out side of the car, always already installed in the car. In order to get every wire and cable correct on the engine and tranny im looking to get a few good shots of a motor and tranny that has yet to be installed. Does any one have any idea where I can go on the net to find something like this?
  23. WOW ill join the bandwagon here, would love to see those old mags, just total amazing!!!
  24. I remember that article had to dig it out to check it out again, (its nov 2008 issue #136) its a great article and he is a master builder, the only thing i have a hard time with is how the door jam meets the floor plan. The article was not specific about that, thats what im looking to figure out.
  25. Im with Paul here, looking at a finished model with give you an idea but when you see something from the beginning it actually helps you process if better.
