I started building this kit the other day. It is the old snap kit. Still has a funny looking grill. I was going to use the bed on the old Billy Carter truck but you would have to rework the back half of the frame it's a little short and a little to wide. the revell Midnight cowboy bed fits right on the billy carter frame with no mods needed. wish revell would have combine those two kits for a new wrecker, even if its only single rear wheels.

I buy & sell on E bay. I don't buy international items just because most of the time when you add it all up it's not a good price. I can just wait for another item that is in the U.S. As far as selling I have always offered to ship anywhere. More bidders = more money. I clearly state in all my listings that I only ship usps priority international mail with insurance and tracking number. I have never lost one yet. Only problem I've ever had was I sold some zippo's to a guy and I was unable to ship them because you can't ship lighters in the mail even if unused. As far as the forms I have been just paying my postage online and it prints the form out all I have to do is enter insurance amount and sign and date it. My post office has told me I could just put it in the drop box if I put the forms on the package myself but I work 2nd shift so stopping at post office before work has never been a big deal.

Remove dried glue from clear plastic
jw78z28 replied to Fat Rat's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've used it for flat and slightly curved windows like side door glass and some back glass worked fine for me. I used two part epoxy to glue in place. just make sure you inspect the sheet for scratches before you buy it. -
I would start by cutting the holes in the hood to the right size and shape, then I would get some styrene strips, for the chrome. I would make 2 per hole and then find some screen and sandwich the screen in between the 2 strips and then glue into hole in hood. hope this helps.

vintage kits & brake fluid
jw78z28 replied to jw78z28's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
well after 24 to 36 hours in the brake fluid bath she came out super nice and clean with no harm to plastic. I wish I would have got before pics. this thing had three coats of paint. black then gold then candy apple red. plus it had the styline custom front and rear bumpers. I got luck and both came off with no damage to body. Thanks again a/gass -

Thanks a/gass. I can work with stained plastic. -

I've got a vintage AMT 62 valiant that needs the paint and some old amt body filler putty. Will brake fluid melt the vintage kits plastic? I will be using DOT3 brake fluid. I've stripped newer kits this way and some from the 80's & 90's with luck, but just wanted to see if anybody has had any problems with the vintage kits. Thanks

Dropping parts
jw78z28 replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My favorite is when the part lands in a project box under the work bench, but you didn't see which one you just heard it. -
