  4. I'm looking for 1/24 1/25 scale hyme joints. I thought someone use to make these but i can't seem to locate them. need a few for a funny car I'm building.
  5. This would be for my 1:1 78 z28. I was going to use the GM atomic orange but a friend of mine just painted his 30something chevy that color and I've passed a few Mitsubishi that are the same color as yours and I just think it looks way better than any other orange I've seen lately. What year is your car? maybe i can go to my local Mitsu. parts dept and ask what colors where that year. thanks
  6. nice ride. do you know the color code for the paint or what color its called I've been wanting to paint my 78 z28 that color.
  7. if you have a spare body i would try it on that first to see if it turns out okay. i've tried candy paints from the can and the air brush and just haven't been able to get it to look right yet. all i can say is just go for it.
  8. Candy colors are a pain, very hard to get even color. but they look good if you can pull it off. good luck and have fun
  9. WOW super cool guys. I missed the days of parts packs, born to late. I hope this goes into production and we get a few other new parts packs.
  10. Nice. you guys make some nice wheels. got a set of your 1/24 1/25 scale wheels and love em.
  11. that may be the dragster hauler. not sure what it was called but it came with a dragster that went in the back of it. I think it was made buy MPC see them on ebay few times but not lately. hope that helps some
  12. i just got laid off today because of the damage in japan. can,t get any parts to build the brakes.
  13. if its the red white and blue kit i may have a set i could send you a scan of them if it will help.
  14. Well I went to my first contest of the year today, didn't win but i wasn't really expecting to because I only took 4 models that where all low detail builds, the nice easy kind taking a brake from the high detail builds. So on with the scores from the swap meet. #1 63 chevy nova II station wagon 3 in 1 complete with nice decals. super nice orig. kit with no parts painted or glued. one owner kit #2 1/16 beebe rail dragster #3 dodge rescue van missing decals but complete #4 dodge ram dually #5 dodge dakota I'm super happy with finding the 63 nova kit, been looking for an affordable one for a long time. It was also nice to see every ones new builds this year at the show.
  15. I will use solder when I need to build a custom set of headers. I think the size i have may be a little small its .062 dia. but I think its fine for street cars. I just wipe it with a rag a few times before i cut what i need. I painted a set after all the bending was done with krylon white primer with no problems. It seems to hold it shape real good and its easy to adj. when it comes time for final fit. I haven't used it for much else hope this is some help.
  16. nice build. that was one of the first funny cars that i got to see run at indy.
  17. I,m from Mason, OH. there's a show coming up on 4/16/11. might be able to find some people from your side of town. it's put on by Cincinnati Auto Replicas. Theme is big boppers buick, oldsmobiles, pontiacs. 20 classes . WWW.CINCINNATIAUTOREPLICAS.ORG west chester conference center 9248 princeton rd. (747) west chester, oh 45071.
  18. there was a guy on ebay selling a 4 door 78 79 body style. i tried to buy one cause it had a buy it now. but the guy never sent me my item or answered my emails about when item would ship. i think his user name was riv something. if you find anything please post info. i would love to build a late 70's 4 door long bed dually. or post pics of how you made your own bed if you go that way.
  19. i just got the zl1 427 and it had a trans in it.
  20. I like the idea of the contest. It's what this hobby needs, a way to get new builders. Do i like all the rules? NO, But i also don't like all the rules at shows I go to in person. I still go. Will i enter? not sure, if i get some of the projects off my bench and on the shelf in time i might just try it. Maybe if it goes good this year then next year maybe they will add a category that allows different cars and after market parts. As far as the list, if you look at it. It has all the cars that started hot rod era. They are all cars the where cheap and there was alot of parts available new and used that the working man could afford. I didn't grow up in the hot rod hay days, but my dad was a hot rod nut like me and I've couldn't tell you how many 55,56,57 chevys he or his friends bought for 50 to 200 bucks back in the day. I'm sure there where ford for the same price but where a chevy family. Most of the mopars couldn't be found that cheap, plus you couldn't get a 350 or 454 to fit in it with out a lot more work.
