What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)

Hi Steve, thanks for the compliment. I’m starting to lean towards leaving the main body matte and the roof gloss to offset each other. The wheels are from Texas3DCustoms. -
Tribute to Snake45

I’m in too! I’d mentioned it to a couple of other members in private and it seemed well received. Gratuitous pic of my “Shelf of Shame” included. -
Our two are not chipped as they are indoor furbabies who are terrified of the outside world. They will sit in the door or window and watch the world go by but as soon as you open the door they run.

I see your Bag-O-Cat and raise you a Sack-O-Cat! *moments later he went tearing through the house with said sack attached to his midsection!

To me the initial mockup is the funnest part. I have several (10-12?) mocked up and put back in boxes with an index card that details what I was thinking at that moment. I stopped displaying my finished kits on a triple shelf on my bench because 1) they are finished, 2) they provide no inspiration for current projects, and 3) they are taking up space. So I started putting out my current projects on display so when I’m sitting at my bench trying to figure out what I want to do I can work on one and put it back while working on another.

MPC 68 Coronet kit my wife got me for my birthday and some resin wheels I got from @Scott8950 a few days ago. Not 100% sure on color yet but I’m leaning towards a green of some sort. -

Yeah it’s just painted right now. Still have to paint and assemble everything else but it will get cleared before final assembly. -

Thanks, the pics don’t really show the paint though. It’s Testors Purple Sunrise color change paint. -

I’ll be watching too, it’s about time I drag myself kicking and screaming into the airbrush world. Been using spraycans for years now. ??

Revell Cutlass 442 FE 3X
Keef replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A quick search looks to me like they were just slapped on basically. I have one of these kits in my stash so I’ll be watching your build. -
I was looking at one of those resin kits on facebook thinking I’d like to give it a go. IF it’s from the same person I’m not so sure now ? Yours is looking good so far, can’t wait to see you work your magic with it!

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)
Keef replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Started doing some work on an original MPC 69 Trans Am rebuilder. Opened the hood scoops and got the chassis squared away (broken wheel mount)and most of the glue marks sanded off. -

Got the second color done on the Nova wagon curbside. Now to decide if I clear it with gloss or matte as originally planned. ? -
