You have NO idea how long I’ve been looking for this kit at an affordable price. It’s the very first kit I ever built at 12 years old. I’ve been looking for one to build now 41 years later. I’ll definitely be watching this one progress!! 😍

Sorry I didn’t really do any WIP posts on these. I have a tendency to start a post and never update it due to life or losing my motivation.

I work at a sign and vinyl graphics company. I told one of our art designers what I was doing and what I wanted and she knocked it out of the park. It’s actually printed vinyl applied to 6mm PVC sheet.

I have two of these G bodies in my stash currently awaiting ideas for builds. I’ll be watching this one too!!

Will probably add some windows at a later date. Just trying to mock things up and get a solid direction for where I want to go with it. I may also add a second floor/ catwalk area at a later time.

I work in a graphics and sign shop and have access to a lot of pretty cool stuff so I started a garage for photos of finished builds and WIPs. 2’x2’ piece of 6mm PVC sheet with black and white checkered vinyl laid on top. Walls are 1/2” foam board. Opposite side of base has “used concrete “ printed vinyl laid on it since I can’t decide which side I like best. Can reverse it and use either side since I made 2 post lift base removable. It will grow and change as I find and acquire more scale items for it.

I used the Hemi from the 71 Cuda kit in mine.

Francis, Francis, Francis, this is absolutely AMAZING work!!! Your pure attention to the smallest of details is truly inspiring to me as well as others. I cannot imagine how the finished product is going to turn out but, I know that it will surpass anything that I could possibly imagine. love Love LOVE where this build is going!!!

As much as I hate to do it, I’m withdrawing from the race. Between work, home, and other things I haven’t had time to build like I had hoped. I got paint and mockups done but that’s as far as I got. Maybe I’ll finish it this coming year.

Found this at a local Michael’s and thought I’d give it a try. Normal price was $8.99 but was on sale for $4.99. Anyone else tried this setup? They also had a limited selection of model kits. They had : 2 69 Camaro Z28 2 69 Nova Special Edition kits and about 12 of the 71 Olds 442

I’ve bought a few sets of those as well as packages like that of single sizes off of Amazon. Absolutely love them!

Few things I picked up at Walmart and HobbyTown

Decided to try and build a box stock and resist the urge to change/modify everything. Got to the paint stage and that’s where everything went south. I have used this combination of paint before(same primer and paint) on at least two other projects and I had ZERO issues. But this time it was not meant to be. I ended up with TWO bodies that crazed for no apparent reason. Primer went on nice and smooth, dried for two days. Paint was nice and glossy and smooth when sprayed but after about 30 minutes it crazed. I swear it took all my willpower not to HULK out on both of these.

Loving this so far!!
