  1. tim, tim, tim,.......that's clamps-ville buddy!!!!
  2. i'd be careful tim. word has it, mike is the leader of a bunch of outlaw vespa riders..........and he saved your email! what will you do,...........what will you do?
  3. hey tim............
  4. thanks john! i was thinking that this one might get displayed up on a set of projacks with the wheels off and the clutch exposed. i've never done display like that so i thought it might be interesting.
  5. so, i had a little time to do some work to the dragster. changed the transmission choice to a lenco 3 speed and a clutch..........just because i can. going to make the can hollow so i can make a clutch that you'll be able to see through the adjustment window. the can was machined from a 3" round and took about 2 hours worth of machine time. probably 6 hours worth of drawing time. next will be the clutch. ooooohhhh.....lots of fun!
  6. nice start paul. good to see you back.
  7. tim, are going to make the lenco?
  8. always have been mike. uhh, better clarify that, Mike Garland. same goes for you bud.
  9. tim, love the headers! clutch can is it's own little work of art.
  10. pete, feel free to bore me with the details. how did rotating the handle in any way fix the relationship between the rotary table face / chuck and the edge of the head to the spindle centerline? edit: forgot to mention, it would be best if when you show something like this you put the same mini carbide drill in the collet at the exact same depth and not change to a longer shank and larger diameter end mill to show your relationship change. the tooling change makes it look like extremely different.
  11. OH...................MY..................GOODNESS, GRACIUOS!!!!!!!!!! well tim, i'd have to say after all of the conversations on what "look" you were going for, i believe you have sucessfully achieved "IT". the quick change just looks so incredibly massive in there. beautious, maximus! the body, the stance, the wheel combo, the engine, the chassis. just stellar craftsmanship!!!!!!!!
  12. love the frame tim. tubing looks to be the correct size and the placement of the uprights looks good too. how do you do it? correct size , placement and nothing is upside down. blasphemy i say. header flanges looks sweet too. are you doing zoomies like in the pic? or are you choosing to do something different?
  13. obviously, it is a breath of fresh air to see someone not only use parts that aren't the norm for a build but, also create them from scratch. the donovan is not a copy of some model company's work but, rather you're artistic interpretation of an absolutely stellar feat of engineering in drag racing history. the wheels.......well, the wheels are the same artistic view. as i watch this piece of miniature machining history unfold, i am left wondering what your next creation will be for this maximum effort build. i can only imagine...................
  14. tim, that................. is just OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!
  15. that is some sweet stuff there tim!!!! i think the front wheels will be killer when you're done. will you be making a fixture to hold the hub in place while you assemble the wheel? i'm wondering if these would something you could fiit into this build......hehe.
  16. "This thing will be ALL motor. btw, did I say "thanks" to you? " why yes......yes you did say thank you. it is always a pleasure to help someone who says, thank you. i am going to lodge a formal request for a few mock up pics. i think we'd all like to see just how cool this thing looks. i'm so excited, i hope i don't pee myself!
  17. canard-ly tell you're wingin' it joe!!!!! yes,........it took me this long to think that up. hehe.
  18. chris, i always love looking at your stuff buddy. the lines, high speed bypass, barrel valve......exceptional detail!!!! we just need to get you a mill.............
  19. outstanding work on the bantam body Tim. absolutely love the way you've modified it. it definitely is "schwoopy". the wheels take the cake......GREAT job. this is one build, that just can not be built fast enough for me. i'm lovin' it !!!!!!!
  20. i'd like to thank all of you for your terrific comments! it means alot!!!!
  21. here are some of the build shots. rear suspension. front suspension. notice the tapered spindle. bruno converter drive with lenco 3 spd. soldered brass tubing chassis. primer-ed in mock up. if you have any questions or comments please feel free.
  22. crowe -t here is the 1/8 10.5 camaro you asked about.
  23. michael, yes, i finished it. i'll post some pics in the drag section.
