  1. Thank you for the reply's and comments - I have located a dash. Brian - It always amazed me how many different vehicles are used in movies. Dave - did you go with rubber tires or another set of resin ? Terry - not sure why on the tanks , but even in today's wealth of information good original pictures are hard to find. latest update - new fuel tanks. Thanks for looking in
  2. hmmm, I must be missing something. I checked a seat and it just has a pedestal under it with two diagonal lines to where it looks like three pieces (?) Is that what your looking for ?
  3. My current project is the AITM Rubber Duck Mack. This is a really nice resin kit with some really fine castings with minimal cleanup . There have only been a few pieces I have not cared for. There is no real set of directions for this just a well thought out guideline sheet. My current progress mainly consist of mockups. The kit supplied fuel tanks and I have had a challenge , this is the only casting I did not care for. I have spent the past few days filling, sanding , filling - repeat. Much to my happiness I found some decent side shots online and discovered they are not correct anyway. New tanks have been cut from pvc pipe and will be used instead. Here is the kit supplied "half a Mack" which suits me just fine as I will not be cutting the hood from the cab anyway. (I have yet to open a hood or tilt the cab after a model hits the shelf) I am currently looking for a "plastic" Mack R model dash to replace the resin one in the kit if anybody has a spare. Thanks for looking in
  4. What is that old saying "Welcome to my web said the spider" Bill you should get a kit and give one a try
  5. I dont really remember any quirks with this kit other then it does take some time to build. Any challenges I may have faced might of been due to this being my first wooden boat. However I had built R/C aircraft for many years and was familiar with working with wood structures. The biggest thing is having a dedicated work area - I used a hollow core door mounted on two sawhorses for my bench. If I remember right I figured there was about 120 hrs from start to finish. I did put R/C gear in mine which does not take away from the static display and she would cut a beautiful wake when I took it out. Not the best pics but all I could find.
  6. Thank you guys for the information.
  7. Sounds like a good plan, I have several sets of the lightning decals if you need them.
  8. Wow - I believe this is the first time I ever saw one of these built out of the box. You did a real fine job on it and welcome to the world of truck modeling.
  9. Does anyone have any pictures they could post showing the dash and interior ? I dont know anything about the RL-RS 700LS trucks so I cant trust the wide array of misleading photos on the internet. Also what colors would of the Mack engines been besides gold ? Thank you
  10. What a great combination. The tractor paint scheme is very pleasing and you cant go wrong with a ribbed trailer. Second picture down if by itself I would really been fooled thinking it was real.
  11. I hear you on that , I was looking at a K-123 bumper and it has a hair plated over. Not sure if it is human or rat
  12. Fantastic looking mobile orange parking lot. That orange 4-wheeler cracks me up !
  13. Oh wow , I figured you were going to use a resin conversion. I am really impressed now - Nice work !
  14. Travis - that is really cool on the Birthday dates ! Chassis is looking straight and level , should make the rest of the truck assembly a breeze. Testors Dullcoat works really well on chromed pieces to give them a realistic appearance. Wash the items first with a degreasing dish soap first.
  15. That is some really nice work you showing there. I dont detail engines anymore - but when I use to. Masking tape cut in thin strips worked really well for belts and can be built up with multiple thickness . Sorry this is the only example I could find
  16. I like this one, always had a soft spot for those old CF trucks. You really captured the look on one you would see as it was pulling into the truckstop fuel island. For your first time weathering that snow sure looks like snow to me
  17. Wow - Cummins V-12 , that is some serious engine. I spent many a hours working on V-16's Very cool pictures Dennis, I would of liked to been there to have watched.
  18. Nice trucks Tommy, I really like the cab color of the 281.
  19. Nice work on the valve covers KJ.
  20. Finished this one up last night. I was hoping for a nice day for outside pictures - no such luck. These kits are just great , price can not be beat and with a razor saw anything is possible. Thank you to all who followed the progress of it. Thanks for looking in
  21. Clayton - I have read through this several times. May I make a suggestion - I would really go with some .010" or .015" styrene to do your in cab flames. Easier to work with and it wont have that over thick look to it. You might even consider another mask and just use it painted up ..
  22. I like this project but I hope your going to use the headache rack or make one. It makes me nervous thinking about that loader or shovel operator being more attentive to the Twinkie he is eating then where the load is getting dumped in. What would be cool - exhaust heated bed....
  23. That is a good looking combination. It is a shame it is lo longer on your shelf, but you do have some nice pictures. Someday I would like to build a bunch of kits like the boxarts.
  24. Jerry at Modeltruckin is the only person I know of that makes quality decals. Check the paint shop section - there might be something on other brands of trucks that might come close. http://www.modeltruckin.com/store/
