  1. Brian, yes I have seen that thread. Truth be known that was my inspiration due to all the great reference pictures. Terry - I have already sawed the roof of the KW cab as its "shape and lines were not working for me. Thanks to everyone else for commenting - it should be an adventure !
  2. All right Tom , nice truck . Does this kit also come with a left hand dash ?
  3. Wow - that is a lot of engine for that old truck . Great subject !
  4. Nice one Ken, I cant wait to see what color scheme you come up with.
  5. I was hoping to see a wrecker make the page.
  6. Nice old Mack subject and what a great story behind it !
  7. Very cool, be sure to post lots of pics on how you use the frame
  8. I agree Clayton, lots of different varieties coming out of the woodwork ! Looking forward to progress and Lots of pictures
  9. This will be my rendition of a Diamond Reo Royale. There will be a lot of artistic license used as I have only seen a few in real life. My original idea was to convert a GMC Astro but discussing this with a good friend who is also a outstanding truck modeler he suggested the KW K-123 kit, so that will be my base kit. There will be lots of parts box items used along with a DR truck kit (on order) for the grill and emblems to get this model as close to the pictures I have collected.
  10. That is a great find and I really like the color of the cab.
  11. Separating the hood from the cab looks like it was a bit of a challenge. The mock up looks good !
  12. Well said Jesus and Jacobus ! Here is wishing all my truck building friends and theirs a Safe and Happy New Year and lots of Great Truck models being built !
  13. Perfect example - The young woman claimed she did not know how much six tons equaled in pounds https://www.yahoo.com/autos/s/young-semi-truck-driver-destroys-bridge-built-1880-210035397.html
  14. Fantastic work , that is a long frame for you Terry I am really intrigued now .
  15. Great stories and I feel decades younger after reading them. Mine was the "Movin On Kenworth" my buddy and I rode our bikes several miles to a department store, he had gotten the Peterbilt kit at the same time. I painted mine with Pactra Candy apple green (with no basecoat) it was a gelatinous runny translucent mess. But every time I looked at it I heard "Whomp Whomp" and Meryl Haggard right on cue !
  16. Wow , this is fabulous ! I really like the new airbags and air tanks. Well the engine is top notch also , looks real enough to hear the turbo whine.
  17. Thanks guys for commenting, Rich - I only failed on the drivers side, the off side was perfect. My mistake was getting distracted and not going back over the edge with a blunt toothpick. My wife had just got home from town and I went out to open the gate. Ken - I am with you on the stretched trucks. Vic - that is a great looking truck. Since I was a teen I liked that style of paint. I had to do mine backwards though as I was real low on white primer. I had to paint the white first then the blue. It would of been way easier to paint the blue first, but why am I kidding myself - I never do anything the easy way
  18. That 60" spread will be nice ! I was wondering why you were making flexible drivelines..
  19. This project has my attention also and will be fun to watch. I really like your first picture showing your shelf of models - The Mopar load is so cool ! Terry - You mean there is suppose to be an idea behind a project ? hmmmm
  20. If that was my bridge in Duram NC, I would put loader teeth on the anti collision beam
  21. I like this project and it really has a menacing look . Take care of your rebuilt injured parts, dont rush into anything you should not do.
  22. I failed myself on the left side sleeper and did not seal my tape well. I will have to fix that or outline it . Gator - I am not sure if I will do the Aero conversion, but it would be easy enough to do.
  23. Great to see something coming from your bench. I thought for sure this was going to be "Clayton Davis's" truck. Nice work and the drive lines are insanely impressive ! I have been wanting to do a similar project but a WS coe
  24. Kinda / sorta - It is the same truck AMT boxed as the "Movin On" truck but the one in the show had a later cab with the latches along the bottom of the door instead of the handles up high. Great save you have going on here !
  25. Hey Jt , looking real good. Does the Lonestar not come with the wheels and tires as in the BIg Rig wheel and tire set ? I can hear that lady at the Dually saying "Orange you glad to see me "
