  1. That is what makes this hobby so great. Gino - I am really looking forward to watching and learning !
  2. I did shorten those pipes so I am pleased with your reply ! Thanks guys for all the great comments. These trucks are definitely the best deal on the market as you can do anything with them if you own a razor saw with absolutely no remorse..
  3. Ben I am already envious just because you have a scale drawing. Where in the world do you find something like that ?
  4. Excellent pick and the perfect kit to pull it off. Those posters were the best !
  5. I dont agree, things are fine the way they are. All of them are semi models of some sort and in the proper section for like minded builders.
  6. Updated photo, I had forgotten I had not painted the air filter cans I was out of white primer. (which I now have) Thanks guys - I am going for the 1970's look with this one. I need to go paint so I can finish this up.
  7. Rockwell U-joints moto is slip it on before you stab it in gear ! That is my traveling yoke for the day You are the only person I know that can shorten the frame and Still have to extend the driveshaft - how does that happen ? Nice work on the air intake pipe , that had to be a time consuming challenge.
  8. Still moving on with this one Mocking up the stacks this morning. Thanks for looking in
  9. Nice subject Jeff ! Having that kit and hood is a treasure. Don't worry that you haven't a paint scheme in mind - that will make two of us .
  10. Dave - good to see your models. I am always in awe with your level of detail and fine building skill. Also like your background scenery - always makes me want to move to Louisiana .
  11. Fantastic - I am really happy to see you doing a "po boy" makeover. Keep up with the updates on the transformation
  12. Pat - this is really taking shape , I am surprised you did not make this a single axle. I addressed your questions over on my thread that you asked.
  13. The worst of it is done, the exhaust pipe from the turbo to the stack should be a breeze
  14. Wow - I am overwhelm by the reply's and comments. Thank you all This truck was more then I should of bitten off for my reintroduction back to Big Rigs. I had built one at the age of 17 and it did not look no near like this one - but I know it was still my favorite. If I was to build this again I would go with with Modeltruckin decals. I could not match the gold stripping width and color on the decals for anything. That is why I left the stripe off between the upper colors. Jim - you missed out , how could anyone not have seen the Landers sisters
  15. Thank you guys Jim - Your project will piece right together as you are putting thought into it. I always seem to jump in the deep end without my water wings. I am back to making forward progress - I now have the foundation for the exhaust and air intake piping. Getting this far was a real trial . I had to rob some of my most coveted spare parts to get this exhaust / air intake setup. Thank you for looking in
  16. Jim it is a pleasure to see you on board. I like your choice of kit , I always liked the decals that came with this one. I like the idea of "It will evolve as the build progresses" Sounds for an exciting project !
  17. Very nice tip for the lights. White glue gets used a lot at my work area.
  18. Jeff - I used Alclad II chrome. This truck is now finished and in the Under Glass section Thank you to all that followed and kept me motivated.
  19. Two years and three days from the time I started this truck until finished. I had not built a Semi model in over 33 years. Add a move from Washington state to Montana - I am very happy to add this to the finished shelf. The rear mudflaps are hiding from me at the moment. I know I just saw them a week or so ago. Thanks for looking and I hope this truck brings back the fun memories of watching the TV show.
  20. I cant wait to see the stacks you manufacture up for this. Getting closer - those pipes are almost there.
  21. Dan said it first , But I agree with him - The cab sits just right , looking really good.
  22. On the left the Kit grill , on the right Double Take Replicas. I am really impressed with the detail and quality . Until tomorrow
  23. Brian - I am not using that transmission , it is just there for counterbalance. Kevin - Thank you for stopping by ! Slow progress, I built the double decker battery box and finished up the rear cab mounts. And now I am dragging my feet - Piping , my Achilles Heel of a truck model. Thanks for looking in
  24. I already feel this will be one of my favorites to watch, nothing better then a parts box creation .
  25. Very nice work on this one ! What chassis are you using ?
