KW Snap W-900 {mud flaps}
Old Buckaroo replied to Old Buckaroo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I did shorten those pipes so I am pleased with your reply ! Thanks guys for all the great comments. These trucks are definitely the best deal on the market as you can do anything with them if you own a razor saw with absolutely no remorse.. -

I dont agree, things are fine the way they are. All of them are semi models of some sort and in the proper section for like minded builders. -

Rockwell U-joints moto is slip it on before you stab it in gear ! That is my traveling yoke for the day You are the only person I know that can shorten the frame and Still have to extend the driveshaft - how does that happen ? Nice work on the air intake pipe , that had to be a time consuming challenge. -

Nice subject Jeff ! Having that kit and hood is a treasure. Don't worry that you haven't a paint scheme in mind - that will make two of us . -

Dave - good to see your models. I am always in awe with your level of detail and fine building skill. Also like your background scenery - always makes me want to move to Louisiana . -

Pat - this is really taking shape , I am surprised you did not make this a single axle. I addressed your questions over on my thread that you asked. -

The worst of it is done, the exhaust pipe from the turbo to the stack should be a breeze -

Old Buckaroo replied to Old Buckaroo's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Wow - I am overwhelm by the reply's and comments. Thank you all This truck was more then I should of bitten off for my reintroduction back to Big Rigs. I had built one at the age of 17 and it did not look no near like this one - but I know it was still my favorite. If I was to build this again I would go with with Modeltruckin decals. I could not match the gold stripping width and color on the decals for anything. That is why I left the stripe off between the upper colors. Jim - you missed out , how could anyone not have seen the Landers sisters -

Thank you guys Jim - Your project will piece right together as you are putting thought into it. I always seem to jump in the deep end without my water wings. I am back to making forward progress - I now have the foundation for the exhaust and air intake piping. Getting this far was a real trial . I had to rob some of my most coveted spare parts to get this exhaust / air intake setup. Thank you for looking in -

Jim it is a pleasure to see you on board. I like your choice of kit , I always liked the decals that came with this one. I like the idea of "It will evolve as the build progresses" Sounds for an exciting project ! -

Old Buckaroo replied to Old Buckaroo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jeff - I used Alclad II chrome. This truck is now finished and in the Under Glass section Thank you to all that followed and kept me motivated. -
Two years and three days from the time I started this truck until finished. I had not built a Semi model in over 33 years. Add a move from Washington state to Montana - I am very happy to add this to the finished shelf. The rear mudflaps are hiding from me at the moment. I know I just saw them a week or so ago. Thanks for looking and I hope this truck brings back the fun memories of watching the TV show.

Brian - I am not using that transmission , it is just there for counterbalance. Kevin - Thank you for stopping by ! Slow progress, I built the double decker battery box and finished up the rear cab mounts. And now I am dragging my feet - Piping , my Achilles Heel of a truck model. Thanks for looking in -
