  1. And then we have the GT40... it's an old Revell kit, a simple model to build but it had some metal parts and "real rubber" tires! That was super cool back then, being the kid I was. I remember being proud of the paint job on this one, some cheap gloss black spray paint I snuck from my dad Thankfully I have another one of these kits unbuilt, maybe I'll end up doing it one of these days. The GT40...
  2. Here are the final two that were dug out of the old shoebox The Porsche I remember building with a friend of mine over twenty years ago... we had a race to see who could build a model the quickest. He won, over an hour ahead of me... his snaptite truck or whatever it was. But still, this was built in less than five hours ~ a simple testors kit, wish now I would've taken my time on it. The porsche...
  3. And the last one here is this dragster... it was built with some missing parts from what I remember, including the decals I used a mix of extra decals from previous kits to give it a finished look. But easy on the gas, it doesn't have wheelie bars
  4. I don't have much to show here... just two models, but they do look pretty good considering I was just a wee boy back then. Built over twenty years ago Wow... time flies. For the drag strip...
  5. Yeah... I only have three 'vette models built, the most recent of them being a restore project from a model my Uncle gave me several years ago from his collection (the '63) Or it could be a '64 Actually, I'm not sure what the years are for any of them... anyway, all of them were built over ten or fifteen years ago. The Corvettes...
  6. Hey guys, seeing how I had some free time today I thought it would be good to give my older models some "love" and attention. They've been in a shoebox for over ten years and many of them (if not all) were built over twenty years ago ~ I'll be posting different topics for them... starting with The Mustangs...
  7. It comes with a DVD? That's awesome I'll be keeping an eye on this one... for sure!
  8. Sweet Love the way it sits... looks like it just wants to get up and go!
  9. Nice and clean... I really like the way you did the wood ~ The colors are perfect!
  10. Yummy... that's one mean looking beast.
  11. Oh yeah... That's a sharp looking ride!
  12. Sweet! You did this model good It turned out beautiful!
  13. Looks pretty good for only taking nine hours to build
  14. It's good to see they've lasted so long... and they still look good!
  15. That thing is beautiful! All the time you put into it really shows... but you already knew that Congrats and thank you!
  16. Once again, wow! They all look great... but that '78 Dodge Monaco makes me smile! Very well done
  17. Wow, those look great ~ very clean and well done! As I looked at them, I found myself wanting to build a few of my own... Not much variety in my model collection right now ~ mostly muscle cars Thanks for the inspiration!
  18. Hey guys, once again thank you for the comments I finished most of the trim work over the last few days... still need to do the fenders and paint the front end but I couldn't wait to show the progress! Plus it was a nice day to take (outside) photos That's it for now... I have an interesting idea to replicate the window seals using black modeling clay, but we all know how "ideas" usually go Guess there's only one way to see how it works. Thanks for looking!
  19. Oh wow, that's a sweet little car
  20. Cool looking trucks Where can I find those scale "action figures" lol
  21. Thank you for the motivation (comments) guys I've been trying to do the trim work on this thing for the past two days but it's gotten me a bit flustered... never have I had so much trouble with BMF ~ it just isn't sticking the way it used to? I've been using metal duct tape instead and had a little success, but the progress is going slow. Hopefully I can get some photos posted within the week to show what's been done Charlie, I used 3M "general purpose" adhesive spray for the roof... just because it was cheaper. It sets up pretty good within a few days but you have to be careful not to put too much pressure on it when you touch it, as I have found. I'm sure the more expensive adhesive spray would work better (dry harder) but the cheap stuff works fine in my opinion
