Scott... thanks buddy for the kind words on my quality. You are right that it is consuming work but it will be worth it in the end with what I am shooting for. This will be my best build to date. I can't wait to finish it and start on the next few projects that have been in the back of my mind for a while...lol. Joe... thanks man. Oh yeah I am trying to think if there is anything else I need to do to the chassis before paint. I know I have a couple of spots I need to Lay some bondo and still thinking of a few other things. Well Its that time to get to the workbench and make some more progress. My plan is to build as much as I can this weekend as well as try to squeeze a few house chores in if I can ...lol Hope to have some updates and pics for you guys later. -

Well guys I sat down and did a little bit of work tonight. Not much but did get a little progress one. I worked on some interior tins that mount below the seat. I am happy with them but I may redo one of them because the piece of printing plate I used had a little bow in it. Anyway here are a few pics.... I had first made a template from a 3x5 card to get the shape I wanted and then I transferred it to the aluminum printing plate and cut the parts out: Here I am just showing that I made it out of 2 pieces: Upclose view of the panel: Here it is test fitted into the chassis. I still need to determine where the drive shaft will be going thru the panel and cut the hole in for it: -

Chuck... nice work. that front end looks great. is that alclad on the axle? -
Thank you Donn.... I will have to pick one of them up.
-
Don this is one beautiful build. Paint is killer as always. Which AMT Vette did those wheels come from? They look like very nice Weld Pro Stars and they are a tad different than the pro stars that came from the revell pro stock kits. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see the next one.

Steve... those wheels look awesome. Jim always does killer work and puts out a great product!! you are sure on the home stretch on this one. keep up the great work.

Bill... Thanks for the props on all of us guys scratch building. I do have to say that it can be fun but at times it's challenging too Steve... Thanks for taking the time to go thru all of the pages. I know there was a lot to go thru to see it all. Thanks for the kind words. I can't wait to see it done myself. I am actually going to be excited when I get the chassis painted and have a rolling chassis done...lol Ok Fellas.... I sat down and did a little work tonight on this and I have completed the gas pedal. all that is left is a little more primer and sanding for it to be ready for final paint. I had to go and redo the mounting base for this. I had also added a small detail to the pedal as well. I felt it was lacking a little something when I posted the last pics. thanks for looking.... Here is the new completed pedal mounted to the mounting base which was redone. I had used the previous base other than adding new pieces for the bolts to go thru and hold the pedal: Another view of the mounting base: Here I stood the pedal up to show the state it will be in: As usual I had to mock it up and put it in with the bolts to see how it was going to look: Now I am feeling I am much closer to where I can just about prep the chassis for paint. I still need to figure out and drill a hole to mount the fuel shut off lever as well as fabricate plates that go under the seat and then I can't think of anything else at the moment other than I need to sand the chassis down and shoot a final primer coat to make sure I am happy with everything. Then it will be time to put paint on the chassis. That will be another big step in this build. So Stay tuned. I will be working on this a lot more this week. I have had family in town and haven't spent much time on this build with them here. -
This is going to be a great build. It's off to a great start.
