  1. Brad... that engine is looking great!! Loving the turned aluminum pulleys and the bracket that you have made.
  2. Rom.... You are getting much closer to having this awesome build done. Looking good with the floor installed. The solder cobra is funny...
  3. Alright so I did a little work on this tonight. worked more on the steering mount. I didn't work as much on it today as I was hoping for but then there is always tomorrow. Here is a quick a short update for you. Started out by getting the bigger hole drilled in the bracket: I then made the tabs for the other side of the frame and go them glued in place, I still need to trim the cross tube down but was leaving to let the glue dry real well: I had to take a pic from this angle just to show: Here it is with the steering column and wheel just for mock up purposes:
  4. Rom.... I will take a look at the Pro Mod pics I have in my collection and see if I can find anything for you.
  5. Dave... I will answer your question. From what I can see the from the couple different threads on this new body, I think it is worth it. I myself am planning on buying one. I just haven't done it yet. The process of being able to have these made with a rapid prototype machine is awesome. People have to understand that there is going to be a little bit of extra work into prepping the body. I have ordered from TDR a bunch of parts and got them. The detail is awesome in these things and seeing the way that the surface finish is on some of them it doesn't seem like there will be too much prepping for the body. Yes there will be some sanding to smooth the body out and I am thinking one could also after initial sanding, you could lay a skim coat of bondo down and sand some more and you should be good to go. Then primer can be laid down and the body be guide coated and blocked out. Let me also say Dave... that I thank you for all that you have gone thru to have this body developed. I think that this will be the most realistic body on the market. Thank you again.
  6. Chuck have you used the Micro mark photo etch kit before. I have been eyeing it for some time now and keep debating if its worth trying it out...lol
  7. The Linkages are killer and look great man!! Loving your work on this build.
  8. The only way I ever buy kits from Hobby Lobby or Michael's is with the 40% off coupon...lol if I can save money on them I will
  9. Hey Scott..... I apologize that I haven't gotten my ideas to you sooner. Been a little busy with the transition from my old job to my new one. Many of what I am gonna suggest have been mentioned by others here but Here are some of my ideas: Break Levers for funny cars & Dragsters (not sure if lengths need to be different but would think that they are) Parachute Levers Butterfly steering wheels 5 point harness ( cam style and lever style) Pedals...(gas, clutch & break) Quater turn shifter zip ties I need to go thru some of my 1/25th scale stuff and see what else I can think of as ideas.
  10. And for what type of car Rom??
  11. Tyrone.... I would really love to see you do a 1/16th scale build. Your 1/25th pro mods that you do are off the hook and I can only imagine what you could do in a bigger scale. Trust me you won't regret doing a 1/16th scale build. They are totally fun and I for one am hooked on them.
  12. Mike... Very Nice... I need to give Chuck a call to order a few sets of his 1/16th scale stuff
  13. Here I am..... This is me when I am painting a model....lol I had a few others with different top fuel drives I was going to post but didn't want to post too many pics...
  14. Tyrone.... this build is sure looking good buddy. I can't wait to see some paint on this bad boy.
  15. This is a totally cool build. great Job on the weathering on this one. I really like the diorama you did
  16. John.... this turned out fantastic. what a beautiful build. You have some serious talent buddy!!! that paint is killer and so is your scratch building skills.
  17. John... this is going to be another killer build man!! with out no doubt I know with your talents you will knock this out of the park like you do with every build. This is going to be a fun one to watch.
  18. Brad.... I got to see this at the West Coast NNL's this year in February and It looks even better in person. I took a bunch of pics and kept going back looking at it. Johns work is just beautiful. I know I am looking forward to seeing what he will bring to the Desert Scale Classic.
  19. Rom... totally awesome man!! So I take it this is next on your build list after you are done with the Daytona?? . I seriously need to order one of these bodies. Dave thanks for taking the time to develop these parts with TDR. I can't wait until you get the carbs over to them. I know I will be picking those up for sure.
  20. Chuck... the Mock up looks sweet man!! this is going to be a great build and looks like I need to make an order to Dirt Modeler. I look forward to progress on this build.
  21. Rom...i cant't believe how time flys. You are right it has been a year since I started this. oh man that would be great if you were able to make it out to the Desert Scale Classic in april. would love to see your Daytona there.
  22. Hello All..... I know it has been a while since I have posted any progress on this build. Just wanted you all to know that I finished my first week at my new job and have sat down very little this week to work on this build. But I promise that there will be much more going on with this build now. I have just a few pics to show you right now with what I got accomplished last night. I didn't have time to post last night, so here are a couple pics to hold you over. I am hoping to make more progress tonight and I will be working on it over the weekend. Thanks for checking back in on this build and let me apologize up front for the pictures. For some reason they didn't turn out that great. I have started on the steering gear box mounting tab: Here I have drilled holes in the mounting tab and then made another tab which will be bolted up to the tab glued to the frame: The next step is to get the rest of the steering bracket completed. Here I have mocked up a cross bar as to where I want to glue it to the tab. Once I get part of that done I will be making a couple other mounting tabs for the opposite side of the frame. You will see when I get them done and It will make more sense I think:
  23. Nice work on the chute handles. they look great. Man I cant believe you are almost done with this build. I cant wait to see the paint on this one.
  24. Awesome work Rom. Those chutes are looking great as well as the sensors in the headers. You are killing this build buddy. I am hoping to get a little bench time on the Funny Car tonight. Keep up the great work buddy!!
  25. Awesome! Thanks for the heads up.
