California Charger F.E.D. update
Mooneyzs replied to vintagedragfan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Bill.... this build is flat out beautiful. Those headers look awesome.. I can't wait to see more of this build. Is your front radius rods made from tubing or from rod. I see it looks like you crimped the ends flat where the bolts go thru. Keep up the great work- 369 replies

1/16 Engine Build
Mooneyzs replied to Pro Tech's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Hey Steven... you can find some of these different engines from a few people that make them in Resin. Mark Johnson does some very nice work with 1/16th scale stuff, you have FlashPoint which has 1/16th scale engines. Competition Resins has some 1/16th scale stuff. I know I am drawing a blank on another resin person out there. -

Thanks Rom! yep I will be using a lenco on this build. It is a 2 speed tranny with using the front section and the reversing unit. I was hoping to have the pulley's done sooner but some details I over looked needed to be worked out first. there is one more little tweak and I think they will be perfect. -
Very cool Build Darryl..... Looking good!

Richard... Thank you! Danno.... Thanks buddy. Now you will be seeing more of this build come together since i will have more time on my hands. Well little update for all of you. I have received a few parts from Jim aka Micro Nitro as well as a few items from TDR. I have been working on a few things this afternoon trying to tie up loose ends on whats left of the chassis refab work and got almost all of it done but let me show you where its at as of right now. First off here are some pulleys that I have drawn up in SolidWorks and send to Jim to machine in hopes that there will be others out there that would want some turned aluminum pulleys: I also drew up some fuel distribution blocks which I also had Jim machine for me and picked up the Lenco tranny parts from TDR/shapeways: I added the oil blow off tubes to the front of the chassis and well I needed an exit point for them to dump into the puke tank and I located them on the back side of the roll cage: I got the steering rod guide bracket made and glued in place: I also got a mount plate glued to the chassis for the brake handle lever to mount too: I still have to add the steering gear box mount tab to the driver area of the chassis and figure out how I want the gas pedal mounting area/tabs to be and were to locate them. trying to get them done tonight as well. Time for a dinner break and will be back at it in a bit. -

Hey Greg... Thanks mate! It's easy to get burnt out after all of those hours that's for sure. I am pretty stoked about going back to pretty much 40 hours a week. I will be sitting down at the bench and working on this build today. I am pumped to be getting in some time on this build. I should have some updates later for everyone. -
Dave... awesome work on drawing up these carbs. I can't say thank you enough for drawing them up. I for one will be buying some of them for sure when TDR has them available. I wish I had a few dominators in my garage ... I do have a holley double pumper sitting on my '71 Elcamino though... . Dave on another topic and I don't mean to intrude on this thread, do you have any experience with super gas roadsters by chance? Chassis and stuff like that? for some reason after I was at the Arizona NHRA nationals seeing some of the sportsman classes I have been having this idea of doing a Super Gas roadster. It's another build that has been added to my list of like 7 different 1/16 scale builds...lol

Best place to get resin promod parts and motor parts
Mooneyzs replied to nitro_force_fan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Ok count me in a a big fan of Mark Johnson"s resin engines. I will say first hand that I think his are the best out there. I personally have one of his 426 hemi engines which is being used in my 1/16th Army Vega build I currently have going on. I also just received this week and 392 Injected engine that is going to be for a Front Engine Dragster project I have planned. His work is just beautiful in my opinion and he is a great guy to work with. I can't say enough great things about him. here are the list of engines that I know he offers SOHC 427 Ford 392 Hemi blown and Injected 417 Donovan he has a big block chevy in the works he also offers a few different valve covers and oil pans for his engines depending on what engine it is. -
Steve I know it doesn't help you with me posting pics of parts thay are no longer avaliable but i wanted to show them incase you were to find someone at a swap meet or somewhere that just by chance had them. im my opinion and this is just my own these were the best sets of 5 point harness's that was out there. if i ever find them i know i will pick them uo in a hearbeat. as far as I know there is no one that sells them pre-made anymore. I really wish these were still avaliable or someone else did a set like this. there are multiple aftermarket companies that have the photoetch parts and you build the harness yourself.
