  1. I use all House of Kolor and PPG basecoat/clear coat for my builds. I also use a urathane clear. I either spay with my air brush or a Devilbiss Mini HVLP spray gun.
  2. Dave... this is one sweet Ride!! Bad A$$!
  3. Sweet Build, this thing looks great!! Nice work
  4. Rom... this is looking great... loving the body on the chassis. now its time for some paint. Hey I apologize that I didn't get a change to look thru my pro mod pics for any fire suppression details.
  5. Thanks for posting your lathe Bill. Hey what size wire did you use for the spokes?? and am I correct for saying it looks like you used push pins or needles for the wire??
  6. Wayne.... this is sure coming along great. Glad to see you back on this project. Nice work on the chassis so far. keep up the killer work!
  7. Brad... you are correct that with the chassis almost done I can move onto something else....lol, although I do need to glue the mount plates for the gas pedal as well as a couple of mount tabs behind the roll cage for the Puke Tank and then I need to scuff the chassis up add a little bondo in a few spots and then it should be ready for primer. I can't tell you how long I have been waiting to get some primer on this bad boy. Then it will be time to get back to the engine and start getting some primer and paint on it as well. I can't wait to get some Alclad on it. Mike... Thanks buddy, Hey also to let you know I haven't forgotten about getting you the information we have talked about as well as pics of this build for your site. Danno... Thanks man. That's great to hear about a table for "in-process" builds. By the way what time does the swap meet start on Saturday the 17th (this weekend) and will you be there?
  8. Mike this has turned out very nice. Its is beautiful!! Very Nice job... can't wait to see your next project
  9. So I sat at the bench tonight for a little bit of tinkering. Got the rest of the chassis work done that I started yesterday. Now I am in the process of designing up how I want to build the gas pedal and mounting tabs for it. I have somewhat of an idea but keep going back and forth on the style of the pedal. Anyway here are a couple of pics..... Here is the addition of the rest of the chassis work that I was redoing from yesterday. I think it looks much better and glad I decided to cut the kit piece out and redo it. Mocked up to figure out how I am going to make the mounts for the gas pedal:
  10. I am still blown away by this build. It is beautiful and all of the turned aluminum parts make me want to finally go and buy my mini lathe and mini end mill already....lol. Bill I have to ask and I may of once already but what brand and how big is your lathe you are using?
  11. Hey Jim... That has to be one of my favorite Mongoose Funny Cars Mark I look forward to meeting you at the show.
  12. Hey Art... thanks bud. Didn't mean to ignore your post. I definitly want this one done for next years NNLs. Bart... you are so right I should of done a whole new chassis.... hmm maybe i should do one for a spare lol.
  13. Rom.... that's what I did last year with that front engine car. I brought it just to show it in progressand had no idea it would place when it wasn't even completed....lol... Stay tuned for more progress, gonna work on it some more tonight...
  14. Hello Fellas... I was able to sit down tonight for a little bit and make some more progress. Joe... Scale hardware sells wrenches for the .8 mm & 1.0 mm bolts. he used to have them for the .5 mm but I think he was having a hard time with having the wrenches made. here is the link: http://www.scalehard...et-wrenches-c-4 , it looks like he out of a few. Shoot Bob and email and I am sure he will let you know when he will be getting more in. Art... thanks buddy... I am seeing way too many chassis brackets these days but closer to having the chassis buttoned up. Keith... thanks man. I will be at the Desert Scale Classic and this in progress build will be there for sure. will be great to catch up and meet your buddy coming from Reno. Ok Guys... so I did it again.... I couldn't leave the chassis alone and had to cut part of it up again . Anyway all I pretty much have left is get some brackets fabed up for the gas pedal. In the mean time I realized I didn't like part of the kit chassis once again and hacked away at it. Once I found a few pics I decided that I needed to change the chassis up a tad again. I got most of it done but need to fab 2 more tubes to go in front of what I did tonight. So hopefully if all goes well I will have it done tomorrow. here are a few pics of what I did..... Before: Cutting up the Chassis once again...lol: Here is the finished product, I used 3/32" Evergreen tubing and I still have two pieces of tube to finish tomorrow to complete this. The two tubes will create and X brace to help give you a visual of it: Top View:
  15. Had to go with Model
  16. Rom.... all you have to do is look for the short bald guy LMAO....
  17. Tyrone... all I can say is Wow man. that paint is looking sharp and is gonna be killer when. done. nice choice of colors. I can't wait to see the paint done.
  18. Dave you have me drooling over these carbs. Very nice work. I am always impressed by your skills and what you do. I really need to invest the money and get myself a mini lathe and end mill one of these days. Keep up the great work and thanks for always sharing.
  19. Louie... First let me say welcome to the boards and Second... man those are some beautiful builds, very nice job on them. I look forward to seeing more builds from you.
  20. Rom... that rail will be there and that one is very close to being done. i just need to soend some time on it but i keep focusing on this funny car lol. its gonna be great to hang out at the show. I am glad to hear you will make it.
  21. Joe.... this is looking great bud. Having the body on the chassis and having it on rubber.... loving the stance. I like the brass fastener tabs that you made for the front clip to attach too. It looks great.
  22. Niko... you are making some great progress on this build and its looking good. For putty, I would recommend using the 2 part bondo brand. I am not sure what all you have available to you but you can pick this type of putty up at pretty much any local auto parts store. if you need a pic of it let me know and I can take a pick of mine for you. I have a personal preference of using the 2 part because in my opinion it is better, it doesn't shrink and it dries much faster. You could be sanding way at it in 15/20 mins.
  23. Brad... I will have it there but I don't know if it will be done though . I had a goal last year to have this build done for this show but due to my old job it sorta go in the way of a lot of build time. Then I told myself that I wasn't going to rush this build to just get it done since I wanted it done right. I really need to jump back to my 1/16th scale FED and get that one finished for this show. and I am also debating if I can get a curbside on another car done (which hasn't been started).
