  1. Alright all... I was able to get back to the workbench tonight for a little bit. I had family intown this past weekend so wasn't able to get to this build til now. Anway spend a couple hours working on sanding and filing the joints on the headers. I am much closer to being done with them. Happy with them but I think they need to be sanded and filed just a little more. I shot a quick light coat of primer on them to see how they were looking and noticed a few pin holes that I will need to fill and fix. Anyway here are a couple pics for you to check out. Thanks for looking.... Here is the front side of the header flange after sanding and filing the solder joint down: The back side of the header flange joint:
  2. Hey Harold.... I am not sure what you normally paint your models with.... spray can, air brush...etc. Any way I would recommend that if you are wanting the right yellow for your project is to check out an auto body supply store. I am not sure how many people know but you can get them to pump enamels into spray cans. They are a single stage paint just like your typical testors and Tamiya type paints. You would be suprised that they are about $10 to $14 a can and it is your basic 12oz size can. you have many more colors to choose from than what you see at a hobby store or auto parts store (checker, napa, autozone...etc) Now if you are shooting with an air brush... you can get paint mixed from a touch up bottle size, 1/2 pint, pint, quart, gallon... I personally go this route and use PPG and House of Kolor on all of my builds. I find that I like spraying with base coat/clear coats much better. it is a little investment to get your reducers, clear and hardner but I find I get better results with them. this is just my personal opinion since I have had great luck with them.
  3. Thats great to hear they are gonna do another model swap meet on the 8th. do you know what time it startes?? I may just have to drive out there to see what people have. I know that Brad (Gasser59) told me about one he went to a couple months back or so. I will have to see if Brad is going to be going and maybe bring my finny car to show him. I am one that gets kits from time to time off ebay. sometimes its the only way I am able to get something that I am looking for that isn't in production anymore.

I am not sure if I am halfway done or not but am excited to get to start the engine here soon. I will probably be goin back and forth on the Engine and driver compartment details. 25. Hey Wayne..... No worries, I totally understand. Thought I would ask. I am going to the Arizona Nationals next month and will be going both Saturday for qualifying and Sunday for Eliminations. So I will try to see what I can find there. I may also try contacting a more well known race team like you said and see if they could send some detailed shots. Thanks for that suggestion, I appreciate it.
