1/8 planetary transmission
Mooneyzs replied to comp1839's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thanks Greg... just checked it out and may have to order myself one of those. They sure have some cool other 1/16th scale stuff... making my wheels turn thats for sure. -
Greg... I am still blown away.... that engine is just looking killer. Nice job on the main fuel valve and the fuel return valve. looking great, just as the fuel pump. what did you paint your braided line with. that black looks great!
-
Greg you are blowing me away with this build. Man it sure is nice mate . The detail on that engine is just fantastic and it looks great. I say if you like the way the injector hat looks with just black, you should leave it. It looks sweet that way and I would think there is nothing wrong with painting carbon. I can't wait to see more of that chassis and the fuel tank. Keep up the great work. Cheers!!

Thanks Brad!! looking forward to getting back to the workbench on this one. Hey are you going to be at the swap meet on saturday?? I am planning on going to check it out and maybe pick a few things up. -
For me it all depends on the type of build that I am doing. I have some kits that are of a high detail level, to others that may be just a curbside or something in between. It also depends on how much time I am able to put into it. Some of my builds I don't want to rush it. I have had a couple builds that have been on the shelf for 14 years which got started and set aside. My current detailed project that I am working on which is my 1/16 Army Vega Funny Car to date has 175 hours in it over a 7 Month period so far and its maybe 1/2 way done since I started in March this year. Hoping to have it done by February 2012 for the NNL West in Santa Clara, California. Lately all I have been focusing on is this project and I am just about to start a curbside build to do something quick and easy with no detail other than body, interior and rims.... just so I can finish something

Niko... sounds like a great project. Posted on your thread. if you need any reference pics let me know. Dave... Thanks man.... yep lots of patience going on with this build. Guess I have learned it over the years of building. I have rushed some builds before and won't be doing that here. Greg... Thanks man, yea that seat was an eye sore to me and had to be fixed. You are right that drilling all of the holes for the bolts is Tedious work but I would do it over in a heart beat with the results I will have with them. Not much of an update since I haven't worked on this since last week. Has more family in town this weekend and was having fun doing yard work and redoing some landscaping and putting in some new plants. Was going to try and work on the funny car tonight but am wore out. So I will get back to it tomorrow after work and hopefully have some updated pics for you guys tomorrow. -
Niko.... Nice project car. That is cool my Vega Funny car has inspred you for this build. Feel free to use any of the idea's I have done so far with my build. If you need any pics let me know I have some pics of the Army Vega funny car, updated Pisano & Masturbara and a couple other various ones I found on the internet. just let me know and would be more than happy to send. This is going to be a great project to follow. Can't wait to see what you have in store for it.

Steve... you are making some great progress. Those headers are looking great. Nice job on them
-
Bart... you have done an amazing job on the door latch pieces. nice job. I have a couple of places for you to look for springs http://www.centuryspring.com/ You can search by size, ID, OD, Over all length, wire dia..... and another one is: http://www.mcmaster.com/# I would go with century spring first. not sure how small mcmaster has them. I look forward to more progress on this build.

Very cool thread.... Cant wait to see more ideas. I will have to see if i have anything i can add to this thread. Really like the file idea with the xacto handle. I may have to try that sometime. I sure could of used the compass/xacto idea when i was doing my disk brakes for my funny car build. But found a cheap plastic compass thing at micheals. May have to look into making.one of. these. -
