Yeah Definitely post some pics of it if you find some, would love to see it. Jason.... Trust me I already have plans on scratch building the bBist hood to make it look like that. I even picked up some Sacle Motor Sports Carbon fiber decals and I also picked up a different Tamiya race car kit since it had the same exact wheels as I have on my ride. I am also going to scratch build the spoiler too. I need to mess around and try to duplicate some stickers and try to print my own decals.

Very cool build. Just like a few here. I also have a couple of the Tamiya bB kits in which I will be building one of my 1:1 xB that is my daily driver..... here is my xB....

1/16 Scale Front Engine Dragster Project - Finished
Mooneyzs replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Hey guys thanks again for all the comments. I am excited to make some more progress on this build. I am hoping to possibly get the photo-etch front rims built this week but this thing called work keeps getting in the way Then it seems like it is a bunch of minor things to complete but needless to say, it is geting very close to being done. I also have and Idea for the parachute that I hope turns out good, which I may have to tinker with this week when I get a chance as well. Dan.... not sure if I will be able to make it out since I have been working crazy hours. Maybe I could swing by and say hi for a few if I have time. -
Derrick....this is sure coming together nice. Man seeing everyone build a big scale pro mod has got me thinking that I may need to build a 1/16th scale Pro Mod one of these days. Seeing these builds are an inspiration. I look forward to more progress on this project.

Greg this is looking great. You have made alot of progress since the last I saw it. The Chassis looks fantastic and so does the scratch building of the transmission. Great work my friend. I gotta ask will you take me for a ride in it when it is finished . Excellent detail and work, you have some skills.

Greg...Thanks for the kind words. It's much appreciated. I just hope that I don't have to work next weekend so I can get this bad boy cleared. You don't know how bad I want to get this build completed as well as work on my funny car. I have had that itch so bad lately of wanting to work on my models. It sucks I haven't been able to in the past month cause of work anyway hoping things will slow down and go back to normal. Mr. Core....Thanks, I had some dust in the clear where a few of the decals were going so I decided to try something different. I color sanded the whole model with 2000 grit paper to give a nice and smooth finish before apply the decals. Then I will go back and shoot another 3 or 4 coats of clear on it and it will get color sanded again and then polished out. This is the first time that I have laid decals down on clear that has been color sanded. -

Thank you John! I didn't want to overdue it with decals but I needed just enough to bring it all together. I can't wait to get the last coats of clear and the final color sanding and rubbing it out. She will sure shine after that. -

Very Cool Jeff... Gotta love being able to model it in 3D to give you an idea of what you want. Post a pic of the 3D model when you get it done. I am currently trying to finish modeling the hubs for the rear brakes and calipers for my funny car build as well as to start modeling some Blower pulley's. Keep the pics coming and look forward to more progress on this guy. -
Brett, Very sweet start to the build and gotta love the Hot Wheel inspiration. can't wait to see more progress on this. Keep up the great work.

John... Now that the chassis is all together.... this is just coming right along. That Engine is looking sweet with all of the detail, the chassis looks amazing with all of the detail. You guys are making me want to now build a 1/16th scale Pro Mod car, which I may have to add to my wish list of kits I would like to build . John continue to build for yourself, You are an amazing builder and who cares what others think. I look up to all of the amazing builders on this site and hope to be as good as them someday. Anyway I can't wait to see what color you have instore to paint this project. I know it will be a beauty.

Hello All, I haven't been able to work much on anything lately due to working 220 hours the past 3 weeks with work. I was finally able to take a little time tonight to work a little on my models and decided to get the decals on this project. Now I am ready for final clearing of the body and if I am lucky I will be clearing it next weekend.....keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for looking. -

Beautiful looking Rims.... -
Thanks John.... I will have to check out one of the train shops here in the area that I have been meaning to hit up one of these days. I am sure they should have something like that there. That Engine is looking great with all of the detail. Seeing your progress has me itching to get back on my builds, just wish work would slow down so I had some time to work on some stuff.
