John... Holy Smokes this is Awesome!!!! Gonna love this build of yours. You are off to a great start. that frame is looking great and man you sure put it together quick. I have to tell you I have had an idea about doing a Pro Stock Motorcycle myself starting with a tamiya 1/12 scale crotch rocket bike and scratch building a frame. just haven't found a doner kit yet. was hoping to find a Suzuki GSX/GSXR Kit to start with but may have to end up using a Yamaha or Kawasaki or a Hayabusa. I know this is going to be a great build and I will be following it for sure. and John hope you don't mind if I save your pics for references. oh yea what size tubing are you using for the frame? Is the rear slick a 1/16th scale slick from a Top Fuel/Funny car kit? looks to be the perfect size.

Romell... you are doing some great work man. the ride is looking good and turing out great. -
I would have to agree with the others that have said something about the mold/seam lines. Also have to agree with the hood thing too. I can think of one of my builds thats like that. I don't think I ever caught it since i didn't test fit all of it with the air cleaners on. I know now I find that I try not to rush anything like I did when I first started buiding when I was younger.

I was able to put a few more hours in tonight and make some more progress. I feel I didn't get too much done but am happy with what I got accomplished tonight. Here are the pics. I started out tonight with cutting material our for my fuel tank hold down strap. As you can see I cut up a Beer can and used the aluminum from it: Next I took and and bent the Fuel Tank Hold Down Strap to fit the fuel tank: I added a drain plug on the rear end: Next I started to work on the front spindels. going to be removing some of the kit plastic and using Scale Hardware attach to the front Axle: I cut little bit of the center section out and drilled thru so I could have a bolt go all the way thru, got one completed here: Finished cutting and drilling the other spindel: Then I had to attach spindles to front axle's to see how they looked: Got a little more accomplished with the fuel tank. I was digging thru my aftermarket parts bin and came across a Pro Tech 1/25th scale distributor and the turned aluminum base was perfect for the cap for my fuel tank, so I had to rob and use it . Then I took and drilled holes for the RB Motion A/N fittings which will get painted up red and blue using Tamiya Clear Red & Clear Blue: -

Thanks Richard! Thanks Derrick, It feels good to be back at work on this. Yeah I have done a little investment with Scalehardware products the past few months....lol.. Sad thing is that I may need to order some more hardware. few items they were out of when I was purchasing. so I picked up a few alternates.... doesn't hurt right Thanks John, I am really excited about going all out on this build. Just wish I could make progress faster but then again I don't want to rush anything, but work gets in the way some times.... I am excited about this 3 day weekend I will be having over the 4th. will pretty much be spending time on this and little my 1/16th scale FED, gotta color sand and rub the body out on that one. John your builds are an inspiration to me. I am planning on doing some more work tonight when I get home from work. So hopefully I will have some more updated pics later on tonight. -
Derrick... This has sure come along since the last time I took a look at it this build. You are doing some fine work my friend. I love the progress that you are making. Can't wait to see more pics of it. seeing your build inspires me to get more work done on my funny car I am working on. I am making progress on it but its at a slow and steady pace since I have been pretty busy the past few weeks. This 3 day weekend coming up will be pretty much spending most of it working on the F/C.

This is Simply an Amazing built. Great job on this so far. The craftsman ship looks great. the color is awesome. decal work is nice. I do have to ask a question on the Mexican hat hub caps, are those turned aluminum and if so where did you get them. I have been looking for some of these for a '49 Merc I want to build. I know Machined Aluminum Specialties used to make them but, he stopped making them. Keep up the great work.

John, the paint work and decals looks great.... This is a totally cool build. Thanks for sharing.
