  1. Does anyone know of any kits or aftermarket companies that may have Rims like these or something really close by chance?? I was thinking of building a model like this. they could be resin, plastic, aluminum. Thanks in Advance....
  2. Romell.... this is getting good. You have a great start on the tranny and I know it will look good when you are finished. I ran across some pics of a Pro Mod Daytona this weekend and made me think of your build. Not sure if you have seen them but maybe these will be a little inspiration......
  3. Thanks Romell, It feels good to be back building this one.
  4. Nice build... It is very Clean and Looks great! I am amazed that this is only your 5th build. Keep up the great work
  5. Hmmm... I was planning on contacting Competition Resins this week as well as Slixx. I will see what the out come is from talking with them and let you know. I would say I would take it off your hands but wouldn't want to if you had plans on using it on a build in the future. Finished Drilling holes in in the Timing Plate and the Blower, Just got to drill holes the hold the blower down to the manifold. here are a couple more pics.....all of the bolts are just placed in the holes for the pic. I plan on leaving the bolts the brass color representing Grade 8 Bolts...
  6. Well I was finally able to get a little time to start working on this build again. Been doing some minor things Like Gluing the engine block together cutting off bolt heads and drilling holes for the Scale Hardware bolts. I am still in the process with trying to acquire a Competition Resins 417 Donovan engine for the build. Slixx Decals seems to be out and when I had ordered it a few weeks back they mentioned that Competition Resins should be making more but also saw that Competition Resins doesn't have it listed on their site anymore well I am hoping that it was just taken off until he gets more produced. So I figured I will start to build this engine up a bit just incase I can't get the 417 Donovan. Hopefully I will be able to and I will use this engine in another 1/16th scale build. I also go a start on the fuel tank. Glued it together and added a little extra detail to it. I still need to fill in the spots where the kit wanted you to put the plastic tubing which came with the kit. I also need to add some bondo to fill in on some areas. I will be using RB Motion A/N Fittings and drilling holes for the locations of them. Also been working on the Blower, cutting more bolt heads off and drilling more holes for Scale hardware Bolts. Thanks for looking.... Engine Block with Scale Hardware bolts in the Timing plate, still need to drill a few more holes in it: Fuel Tank with little extra detail added to the tank from pictures I could find:
  7. Those headers and wing are looking good John. Keep up that awesome work. Looking forward to seeing this all together.
  8. Very Cool Derrick. Great start so far. I have to tell you, I have had an Idea for a drag bike for a while. just trying to figure out which would be the best kit to use. My plan is to start out with a Tamiya 1/12 scale bike kit and to scratch build a Pro Stock Bike Frame using the engine, modifying the body and well little scracth building. It's one thats in the thought process but not sure when I will get to it...
  9. Very Cool Build. Looks great!
  10. Very Cool. this will be a nice build. Looks great with the Ralley Wheels.
  11. How is your guys's 24 hour build-a-thon going to so far?? hope you all are able to make some good progress on your builds.
  12. John, what number brush did you use for the pin striping. That is one minor detail that just adds so much to the car. I think I want to try that sometime myself. I love the choice of color and it just pops in my opinion.... well the whole car does... Still amazed at this build.
  13. Thanks Tyrone.... I will have to try some of that.
  14. Tyrone.... This build is looking awesome. great work on everything. what did you use for the blanket material around the transmission?
  15. John....that paint looks fantastic. Love how you went with the torn look for the paint scheme and striping the green. She sure is a beauty. Beautiful work!!
  16. Tim, Very Nice build there. That looks awesome. Remember seeing this at the Desert Scale Classic under construction. It turned out great.
  17. Thanks Len.... The color is a 1995 Ford color. It's called Ultra Violet Poly and the PPG brand code is 4979 and OEM code is M6717
  18. After spending a couple hours this morning laying the final clear down on this build. I decided to go with 4 coats of clear since I will be color sanding and rubbing it out. Here are a couple of pics. Paint is still drying and probably be able to touch later tonight since I mixd it a little hot. Thanks for looking....
  19. Nice Build. Jeff Gordon is my boy... been a big fan of his since he started years ago. you did a great job.
  20. Evergreen Styrene has different types of sheet plastic that you could use. I know there is alot that is used in the Model trains that you maybe able to find something like that siding or maybe something close to what you are looking for. Go here.... http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/
  21. Working on Painting the clear today. Have laid down 3 coats and have one more to go. Will have some pics up later.
  22. Looking good. that Seat is awesome Man!! Great job so far.
  23. My suggestion would be if you have a local auto body paint store and if that is the original color on the truck you should be able to get the color code from your car or even they could look it up in their paint books. But you can have single stage paint mixed and pumped into an aersol can. You will pay about 8 to 12 bucks for it. I used to work at an auto body supply store back home while going to my junior college and I used to do this all the time or customers.....just a suggestion.
