  1. ....Sweet. Looking forward to seeing this come to life again. Gonna be nice with that photo-etch kit too.
  2. I use a standard single edge razor blade or a regular bondo spreader that I cut down depending on what I am doing.
  3. This is awesome! love the drift scene diorama you are going for. Going to be even better when you get the other two done. Great Idea with them. Too Cool!
  4. Awesome build! its very clean and tured out nice. I have a few of these race cars in my collection that I want to build one day.
  5. Very Clean Build. That thing looks great.

  8. take come scotch tape place it over where the tape was rub it down pull off and it should start taking it off. may need to repeat a few times but works great in my opinion. I have done it many times on different things.
  9. I vote to keep it the HOK Limetime Pearl. That think looked sharp in the green.
  10. Romell... I have been away from the boards for a little bit with family in town. You have been making some great progress my friend. It is looking fantastic. Those rims are awesome and I am going to have to talk to Jim about some. I am hoping to get some more work done on my 1/16 scale funny car build. going to be pulling some of it back out to work on later today. that rear end looks great too with all of the stuff that Robert from RB Motion makes. I have a bunch of his A/N Fittings and Rod ends for my build too. Can't wait to see the next update from you.
  11. That is looking great! You have done a nice job so far. On a side note sorry to hear that your work is cutting your job. I have been in your shoes before and the two times I have been laid off work in the past year and half, I kept myself busy with building my models to help keep my mind off things. Everytime I look at this thread it inspires me to get working on building a copy of my 1:1 xB
  12. Cliff... Thanks on the paint color i have some of that HOK limetime pearl i was planning on using for a '59 impala. I have to ask did you lay it down over a white, black or silver base? That hood looks great! I love how the black follows the lines on the hood. She sure is a beauty. You have some some amazing work so far. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
  13. Cliff... Thanks for the info and posting pics. I will definitely check their website. I appreciate the help. Here are a couple of pics that I found on the web of the Fast Five Challenger. Now back to your build. really looking forward to seeing more progres with you build. Not sure if this was asked before but what color did you use for the green. Love that color. Thanks again and Cheers Mate!
  14. John... This is one beautiful build my friend. I have enjoyed watching this kit come to life. Your Builds have always been an inspiration to me. your scratch building, detailing and paint have always amazed me. I look forward to seeing your builds in person some day. Thanks for sharing all of the pics you did during your build progress. I can't wait to see the next project you have instore to share with us. Thank you for sharing with us again you did an amazing job on this.
  15. This is a great start on this build. I love the color and wheels you went with. build it like the top pic. going to be watching this. I have this kit and want to build it like like the one Vin Deisel shows up in at the end of Fast Five....I just need to find more reference pics of it
  16. you can lay some fine line tape down as a guide, say like 1/8" or 1/4" wide and even lay a few layers of it. I have a scribing tool that I usually use when scribbing out body lines or cleaning them up. The one I have is from Bare Metal foil. when Scribbing you want to take your time and not rush it. if you don't have a scribbing tool you can also use the back side of your Xacto Blade to scribe as well. I would recommend trying it on some scrap plastic if you have any just to get the feel of it and practice. If I had more time I would post a pic of it but I need to head out the door to get to work. I will try to remember to take a picture and post it of the Scribbing tool I have when I get home from work.
  17. Very cool kit...but I don't know who would spend $500 for it. I know I couldn't afford it
  18. Wayne... Very Nice start on this build. It is looking great. Looking forward to following this build. I picked up the same set of decals from slixx for my '68 Dart
  19. Very cool and Nice Job on these guys. they look great!
  20. Very cool. Cant wait to see that build. I picked up the same body earlier this year and looking forward to buildig it. I even picked up the mike sullivan decals from slixx but not sure if i will use or do some other paint job.
  21. Thanks Richard. I figured I would continue building this engine and when I get the Donovan motor in a couple weeks I will build it up as well and figure which I want to go with. I am thinking that I will end up using this block I am currently working on, in a Fiat Altered build which I was planning on doing next after this funny car
  22. Hey Greg... Thanks Mate! It felt like it took forever drilling all of those holes....lol I had a guy here send me a message saying he saw some on ebay. The sellers user ID is scaledetails and they were actually disks from some Ferrari photo-etch detail sets, they had them in 1/16 and 1/18th scale. Here is links to a couple of their listings on ebay.... Detail kit with photo-etch disks: http://cgi.ebay.com/Ferrari-1-16-F40-Testarossa-Transkit-Tamiya-Fujimi-NR-/390317492516?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae0bc4924 I had also picked up a photo etch seatbeld harness from them too. 1/18th scale seat belt harness kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMG-1-18-Seatbelt-Harness-Kit-F40-TR-Burago-Ferrari-360-/350466145369?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519968fc59
  23. Thanks everyone for all of the great suggestions. will try to search for some more but I may end up just trying to fabricate something and painting with Alclad.
  24. Richard..... Thanks Man, I appreciate it. I called and talked to Dennis at Model Express tonight and he is actually out of them as well. But I was able to talk to Rodger at Competition Resins and he said he was re-working a couple of parts on the Donovan Engine and will have some ready in about 2 or 3 weeks. Jeff.... thanks bud, glad you enjoy following this build. really wish I had much more time than I do right now to accomplish more on it. But right now its when I get some time I work on it. I am hoping to have some more done this week on it. guess the biggest part is when I am itching to work on it and I can't or I have plans to totally do some work and when i get home from work I am beat and just want to relax and veg out...
  25. Thanks George. I have picked up a few white wall tires from Modelhaus. You know I never thought to find an old custom hupcap and mod it. Thanks for the suggestion, its a great one . I could always send it out to get chromed or paint with Alcald.
