  1. Well Fellas... I have been doing a little work this weekend on the latch set up. And have to say I am pretty happy with it at this point. There is some very minor updates I will do to it but other than that, It feels great to have this done for now I can move onto working on something else on this build. Well here is the first Video of 2 that I have uploaded to my photobucket. It looks as if its taking Photobucket quite a long time approving the videos. Why... I am not sure. But I will take pics of all of the components and post them in a bit. Also once the 2nd Video is up on my photobucket I will update the post and add it to it. Click on the link below to see the video: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Mooneyzs/media/Plastic%20Models/Model%20Videos/Body%20Latch%20-1_zpsb3gt6p3f.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0 Stay Tuned for the 2nd Video.... 4. Very Nice Build. It looks great.
  5. Joe... that is some great news aboit the house. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. On the body... I say keep on with the charlie allen themE because it is a an awesome build.
  6. Fabrizio.... I can't wait to see what you do with this. I love your builds. Is it going to include you custom made smoke??
  7. Danno... Thank you. I am hoping that my next up date will make your jaw drop.... lol Art... Thanks buddy. It's getting there. Well Fellas I made some good progress tonight on getting the "J" Hook fabbed up. I only made 3 plastic templates until I got it right then made it from Aluminum. Then I have been having the wheels turn in my head on how I will make it working with the spring. I have two Ideas which I may have to explore to see which works better. One is a two piece idea and the other is mostly one piece other than the handle. Hope to have some pics tomorrow to share.
  8. Tim... that wing is incredible Man. You continie to blow me away with every update of this build. everytime each update gets better and better. You are a true craftsman And have to be one of a handful of top builders around. I really enjoy seeing your work and only hope I get to see it in person ine of these days.
  9. Tim.... Thank you my friend. I happened to notice it and had to fix it at this point before I can move on and sand the inside of the body so I can get it painted flat black. As well as work on a little more detail for the front body support. I want to get the body supports primered and painted but I need to finish the minor details to it so I know I can be done with that step then I can get back to the body work on the outside of the body. Randy D.... It's always great to hear from you my Brother!! Thank you very much. I have a long way to go to be at your level of brass work.... Mr Brass Man!! John... What can I say Brother but thank you. sometimes I get some good ideas in the bald brain of mine... haha. Just wait til you see what I pull out next on the bench. I think you are going to like it and you may go then... ......
  10. Joe... Hey Buddy... I am so sorry man. That is a bummer, I have never used brake fluid to strip any parts before and no idea it would do that to a resin body. Well Between you and me we have found out that you can not put aluminum parts in the purple pond to strip or put resin bodies in Brake Fluid..... . I know when you get a new body and once you get into your new house that you are going to love painting with an airbrush and automotive paint. It will make a world of a difference in my opinion. I know others may disagree with me but ever since I have been using automotive paints for my bodies I haven't looked back and I have been using them since I was a teenager...lol Keep your chin up and don't let it get you down. It was a learning lesson we all go thru.
  11. Darry... I always love your diorama's they are so cool. I love the fact that you have used car parts and not the whole car. I think it makes this Diorama Unique. Great Job on this One. Looking forward to the next one.
  12. Wayne... nice job. That thing looks great.
  13. Bob... Thanks. I am sure they are going to throw me in the funny farm with padded cells when this build is done...or prescribe me some meds....lol
  14. Clayton... Thanks man. Yeah it took a few attempts to try and make them stay in place so I could solder them up. Joe... Thank you. I still have those details on how I am going to hook it up to work on. I forgot that this thing isn't going to build it's self...lol Where is John's Minions when I need them...haha Paul... You know it buddy. I have had the thought and plan about making the latch system work from the get go when I wanted to add it. I have been working on the stupid J hook and it's taking a little longer than I was hoping. I am working on a plastic mock up and then I will make it out of Aluminum. I almost have it where I like it but It needs some more work. Darryl.... Thank you Buddy!!
  15. Scott.... it is great to see you back on this build. Man that is sure some nice work on that front end. What a huge moment to have it sitting on all 4's I know the feeling you are having right now and its a big milestone. Keep up the great work and I am already looking forward to the next update.
  16. Bob... Thank you. Steve. Thank you, I appreciate it.
  17. Ok Fellas another quick early evening teaser of what was worked on today and it seemed to take much longer than I was planning but it's ok because I need to make this before I could get some pieces in primer. I worked on the mounting bracket tabs for the body hold down latch. I started with Pro-Tech Throttle linkages and then Soldered them to my front body supports. I used some material as a spacer between the tabs. I apologize for the crappy picture, I took these with my cell phone because I was lazy to retake them with my camera: Here is a comparison with a penny in the picture to show how small the tabs were that I had soldered it was a pain in the butt to get the tabs positioned where I wanted them in order to solder them: Next... I am going to work on the "J" Hook that will go in between both of these tabs which will latch the body in the down position.
  18. Joe... I was just glad that I didn't go thru the body... haha. For the next project not quite close...lol
  19. Paul... Thank you for the kind words my friend. It's much appreciated. I am going to send out that package on Tuesday that I owe you. I hope you are still enjoying your vacation. John... Thanks Brother. It feels so good to get back to the bench and making some progress. I can't wait to post more pics. Just wait for the next project.... It has a "Twins" theme.... If you get the drift.... .... think people may go... ... hahaha
  20. Joe... Thank you. Clayton... Thanks man. It feels great to get back on this. I am hoping to have more stuff done on this today to share with everyone. Although I have been planning another build in the midst of this one, which I am excited to start. Well to be honest there are 3 builds that are in the back of my mind at the moment.
  21. Mark... I am totally digging the stance and the wheels. Man this is sure a cool and neat build. Jesse... You need to build that Jungle Jim. that is cool
  22. Well Fellas.... I know its been a little while since my last update but wanted to let you all know I am getting back on this build. I have had a few busy weeks between from going out to the GSL to having my parents visit. I got some bench time last night and going to be getting a lot more time today and tomorrow. Anyway just wanted to share a small bit I worked on last night.... well before I could move on and work on anything else I needed to first address an issue I ran across. I found that my Oil Blow Off breathers on the valve covers were touching the body when I would put the body down. Now it wasn't much but I needed to make clearance in the body for them. Here you will see the area I marked out with a pencil that I will sand and make some clearance in that area: Here is what has been sanded out, I still have a tad more work to blend it all out but so glad to have it done because I can now start to focus on the under body bracing, getting them in primer and painting them: Here it is with the tin work in place:
  23. Man that is sure nice. I Love that blue, i looks killer
  24. That is totally cool. Nice Job
