  1. Meguiar's Car Cleaner Wax is my choice that I've used for years. Mild with just about any paint, and using this with a chamois cloth (I strongly recommend using that), I've been happy with it.
  2. Just take a look and what they fetch on eBay, and that's pretty much right on the mark! Fortunately, I got mine from our yearly local toy show (Annual York Fairgrounds Toy Show), and I paid nowhere near that amount. Of course, mine was started but never quite finished, and about a year or so ago, I got the engine kit that goes with it. Now if I could just find the time, ambition, (and ultimately space) to do up the whole works!
  3. A Gulf gas station something like that is a dream build of mine. Yeah, those models if they still exist would be worth a FORTUNE particularly since they have a television pedigree. That Mustang did look rather odd...........it looked rather Palmerish to me as a matter of fact!
  4. I wish I could put my models on the table like that! If I did, my cats would have them on the floor in no time! As far as scales I have everything from 1/64 (Hot Wheels) to 1/8 scale. If it looks right, I'll take it if it's a vehicle I like.
  5. Now THAT is nice! Many years ago, I owned a '76 with this body style......it did NOT look this sharp! Welcome to the forum, and I ordered a set of your volcano hubcaps not long ago........they are that nice!
  6. I hear ya Bill! Just yesterday, I had delivered to my place a starter resin casting set. There are times when I needed a particular part, but I hate like heck to raid a kit just for that part. If I can cast it, then I'll always have it when necessary, and not needlessly rob a kit of parts that may be needed in case the fancy strikes to build it. Some poo-poo the idea of vendors on eBay doing just that-----parting out kits for hoods, wheels etc. I've got parts very recently (I got just the rear end out of a Bronco), and it saved me a ton of money from having to buy an entire kit, and then it sits for the next 20 years untouched and never built.
  7. Emmanuel, I was wondering what brand of paint you used for the "Spring Green"? Was this a special mix on your own, or is there a paint brand that may be only available in France? I'm asking for someone who's having difficulty logging on the forum, and they'd like to know. Thanks in advance!
  8. Bummer..........not a deal breaker though! Very nice from what I see so far, and it's a model year Chevy II that for whatever reason, has never been kitted.
  9. The shape of the beltline has always appeared wrong to me in the new tool Edsel. As you mentioned Dave, it's not tall enough particularly in the rear quarter window section where there should be much more of a dip. It's too flat and while it's fixable, you'd need to change that cove area to while one's at it. More work than I want to deal with for the moment as I have that kit (PE set and all), but the ambition hasn't struck me yet to tackle it.
  10. Thanks for the pics Tim! Looking forward to the Chevy II's! I got a question for you............ Will the Chevy II kits (particularly the '64) include a six cylinder engine? It'll be nice to have another Chevy six available from this era instead of having to raid the Trumpeter kit for one, or the AMT '60 Chevy kit.
  11. Tim (or anyone else), will the Chevy II's include a six cylinder (particularly the '64) engine? It'll be nice to have another Chevy six available from this era instead of having to raid the Trumpeter kit for one, or the AMT '60 Chevy kit.
  12. Don't worry, someone in that other dimension when they realize that they don't need it, will throw it back to you! At least that's what I've always been told............... All kidding aside, I've always wondered about that too! I could swear I've heard the thing hit the wall and the floor, and could even zero in on where it SHOULD be, but darn of I could find it. Yup, there's gotta be another dimension!
  13. The Trumpeter kit was a '63, and it had its share of foibles. I've not seen one built that didn't have difficulties in sitting too high, and from what I hear, it could be a very fiddly kit to get together. I had one (hardtop) but I sold it years ago as I lost interest in it. I still have the convertible kit, but it suffered from the windshield frame (A pillar) being waaaaaay too tall-------I remedied that right quick with lowering it a few scale inches, and putting it back in the box. Before..................... After.......... Haven't touched it since................
  14. Yeah Niko, the sedan is a '65. I don't know if it'll be gasser only, or if it can later be built stock. Still, not a difficult conversion to make it a '62-----just some time and patience.
  15. As far as "working" like the 1:1.........well some of the detailing I've done in the past speaks for itself! Not much into that anymore, but I do like things to be "in scale" and not appear overdone. Glass fitment is another biggie for me. Real cars don't have huge gaps around their glass frames (A or C pillars). You'd never be able to drive a car with the gaps so huge in the glass, it's blowing the wig off of your girlfriends head!
  16. I'm a big believer in the proper stance and wheel placement in a model. Nothing drives me crazier than to mock up a model, and it sits too high or the wheels are sticking out too far. I've seen very nice build ups of models at shows and while nice, the stance can be a turn off. It's one of the MAJOR reasons I never paint the body till I know that things are fitting well, and the model sits correctly (as best as I can make it). Painting is the last thing I do as it gives me plenty of time to "rehearse" how to get the chassis and interior in place without a lot of drama, and to make tweaks and changes where necessary to avoid surprises at the end.
  17. BTW, someone mentioned about all the major players going to the Detroit NNL. It may be that there's going to be some more surprises that we haven't seen yet. Revell, Round 2, etc might have some aces up their sleeves and reveal a shocker. Time will tell!
  18. Here are some more screen grabs of the '65-'66 Ford F100............ That '64 Chevy II is lookin' good! Definitely a missing year of those Novas! Thanks to Ted "Chopper" Lear for getting these views via his Facebook page. These are all strictly 3D printed, so naturally there will be some changes made to the final product before the kits hit the shelves. I like what I see here, but it'll be a bit before we have the kits in our hands. I know a lot of you guys don't like or do Facebook, so I thought I'd post 'em here. BTW, I'm still holding out hope for that Cougar............we'll just have to wait and see.
  19. Hmmm................ The suspense is killing me!
  20. OK, brain lapse there! I was thinking of the GT-E, but put in Eliminator instead! Shows you how much I know about Cougars! Revell could literally drag out that tooling for years if indeed that's what's coming with all those variations. We'll soon know!
