  1. Raul, that looks simpy amazing! And yes, I like those wheels much better than the '80's type ones you had on before. It would be great to see this one done even in 1:1!
  2. 'Tis true. Here's a story from a while back from Leftlane News confirming this among other models Dodge has discontinued.
  3. That'll depend on your type/speed of connection. If you're on dial up, better grab some popcorn and watch a movie if you've got a ton of pics! I'm on cable so my pics load very quickly, almost instantly. The size of your pics will also affect how quickly they load------the larger the file size, the slower it'll be. BTW, here's a tutorial Jairus did a while back on posting pics.
  4. Looks good Clay! I built one of those a while back and it goes together very well without much drama. Yours will definitely "stand out" in the crowd! I'd like to see Revell do an '08 version since Dodge is discontinuing the 1:1-------but I know that won't happen.
  5. The original thread to the 8 hour build off was here....
  6. Aaron, I don't know if you're planning to enter a show with this, but if you are........I'd paint it if it were me. Nothing's more disappointing if I'm a judge at a show to see a nicely built model------only to see daylight seeping through because the builder couldn't/wouldn't primer and paint it. I frankly think it's a compliment if someone mistakes a model for a diecast..............that tells me a good enough job was done to making the model appear as solid and metal like as possible.
  7. Ken Krawiec has a Fotki page with pics of some nice guages........... Check 'em out!
  8. A while back Peter Lombardo was building the same thing using some pics out of a magazine. Maybe you could PM him and he could send you some scans. The original thread to his build can be found here. HTH!
  9. Yup..............I gotta agree.........
  10. This should be nice! I loved your 1972 diorama..............it'll be interesting to see a snapshot of life in the year I was born. It'll be neat to see what cars you put in the dio.................sure enough plenty of chrome and fins, and wraparound windshields!
  11. Sounds great Larry! Okay, I gotta ask though.....................Did they correct the shape of the headlight trim where it's not so thick and the corresponding too tall grille? That's the only thing that bugged me about the previous '70 releases is fixing that where it's more in line with the 1:1.
  12. George, I can't totally speak for Tom Carter, but he changed his handle to Spotlight Hobbies when he dissolved the Hobby Heaven business. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he solely does business on eBay now and not directly like before. If someone out there knows more than I..............feel free to correct me on this. BTW, he can be found here where he shows most of what's on auction when you first get there.
  13. Here's my work area........I use the upstairs front bedroom for my building...............Yes, these are older pics-----it's a little messier right now! My "supervisor" Captain the clingy cat!
  14. It's a great feeling isn't it Brian? That came out terrific and the contrasting stripe makes all the difference! I've got to keep a lookout on the 'bay for one.......(one's there now but don't want to spend any money this time around).............Maybe find an engine and go whole hog!
  15. Great model to restore Ron! I've got a hardtop that needs restored, but the scripts are toast. Yeah, '61 was pretty much the last gasp for outrageous fins at Chrysler Corp................they would be pretty much "hints" after that. At least there's no mistaking the year if ya see one comin' down the road!
  16. Yup! I'm quite sure I used lacquer thinner to cut the Plasti-Dip. Now this was back in 2001-02 when I was building the 'Vette, so possibly the formula has changed since then? I remember trying to use acetone, but it beaded up in the jar and didn't "flow" like the lacquer thinner made it do.
  17. Nice! You learn something new everyday! That tip could also be used on the firewalls of cars from that era.................the '55 Ford I'm working on has something similar running the width of the firewall. I think I'll try that! Yes, Plasti-Dip can be best thinned using lacquer thinner...............I used it to make air duct hoses on my '57 'Vette years ago.
  18. Hmmm.......something about this says "Exoto"........we'll have to wait and see...........
  19. Jerry, Norm has no website..............he has an email addy but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe someone out there can chime in...........
  20. Beautiful Dart Don! First car I owned was a '69 Dart, but it wasn't a GTS unfortunately. Your engine looks great, and your chassis overspray is dead on accurate for Mopar..............that's how they did 'em with no dealer applied undercoat
  21. Thanks for the pics Lyle! I'd liked to had gone, but had some things to do in the house here yesterday. I would have liked to have talked to who did some of the '50's-'60's rep-stock models............ These are especially nice!.......
  22. Beautiful interior Raul! Now don't go and mess it up with those oil stains in the parking lot! I have to admit I like the wheels and tires you chose for this '58, even though I'm strictly a "Stock as Stone" guy!
  23. Did ya check the link I gave you?? There's plenty of very good engine shots on that site.
  24. I just Googled what you're looking for and came up with this. A TON of pics there....................If all else fails with Google, you could always go to eBay Motors as they can have a bunch of pics of cars. Especially something as expensive as a Boss 429.
  25. Great Save Mark!! I hope the housekeeper learned his/her lesson?? Do NOT clean anywhere near the Models!!! I also hope he zapped that one outta their pay!
