  1. Thanks for the info, Carl. One more question, if I may, where did you get the acrylic from? I'd like to build something like yours for a few of my trucks.
  2. Wow, those trucks look great! I like both of them. The display case is nice, too, what did you use to build it? By the way, what's the story with the motorhome on top of the case, is that a kit as well?
  3. Glad you came back to building after 50 years! That transport looks great, and give you extra space to display other builds without taking up extra space.
  4. Well said, George. I didn't even notice that until you brought it up, and I agree with your statement 100%. If I was in Johnny's situation just getting over surgery himself, then having this happen to his wife, I know it would comfort me knowing I had so many people, no wait, friends that I don't even know thinking about and praying for me and my family. I'm sure Johnny feels the same as I would.
  5. Wow, I wasn't trying to be mean! I was just letting you know that there was already a thread dedicated to the subject. That's why I posted the link for that thread for you, to help you find it easier. As for the kit itself, I was just letting you know, even though it is a new issue, it was not a new kit, just a reissue of an older kit. Believe me, that does not degrade it in any way, I've had the original kit before and this kit is on my shopping list as well. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by my original post, I was just trying to help and give you some info you may not have been aware of! By the way, I did mean what I said about your trucks you said you've built already as well as this truck, I would like to see you post them in the Model Truck section.
  6. Well, whatever you did, it worked, Big Kahuna!! I now see "Full Name" where "First Name" used to be!!! And, hey, at least it didn't shut the board down this time!
  7. I guess I'm unique in this case! In real life, my CB handle is Highway, and many more people know me by Highway than those that know me by Matt or Matthew! In some cases, if you would ask someone that knows me who Matthew Brownlee was, they would have no clue who you are talking about, but ask them who Highway is, and they would know immediately who you are talking about. At least when someone sees me out and about and yells "Hey Highway!", I know they mean me!
  8. Well said Mark! If you don't want to post your real name, Rick, then go to the SA Prison, oh, I mean forum! I'm a member of both, but I have to be brutally honest and say that Gregg runs a much better forum here compared to over there. Before I joined here, I used to post there quite a bit, but since joining here, I barely even check the site out anymore. The most I do is update a Community Build I have going on there, but I've also posted that project here! I'm sure by your reaction, you probably don't trade, either. If you do trade here, think about this, not only are you giving the person you're trading with your name, but your address as well! Do what you like, Rick. but I don't think it's that hard to post a last name, too. P.S.:Gregg, would it be possible just to edit the required field in the profile section for "first name" to just "name" or "full name" so that it would appear as I have mine?
  9. You do realize there is already a thread for this. Try here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7011 It is also titled "What Did You Get Today?"! By the way, I'll be looking for your trucks in the Model Trucks section. Get them posted soon! Oh, and just another by the way, that kit is also a reissue of an older kit, the truck is actually an early to mid 80s Freightliner, and Italeri has not reissued that kit since around the late 80s or early 90s, and Testors (Italeri kit in a Teastor box) had also done a version of it.
  10. Hey, Brian, you might enjoy this site: http://knightrideronline.com/ I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one to have the series on DVD, but I also found the TV movie "Knight Rider 2000" online and downloaded it! Oh, and not to mention, a friend of mine found the entire new series online and put those on DVD for me and also transferred the entire "Team Knight Rider" series he found online to my computer the last time he worked on it. By the way, I made these using ACME Platemaker, they should give you an idea what I'd like to do with a couple of these kits.
  11. Thanks, Romell! I also want to build my avatar truck, too. I drove heavy wrecker for a while, and love watching "Wrecked" on the Speed Channel, so I have a soft spot when it comes to the big wreckers!
  12. You and your wife will be in my prayers, Johnny. Even though there is never a good time for this to happen, it's even worse right now with you recovering from you surgery. My heart and prayers go out to you and your entire family, just keep faith brother, everything will be taken care of.
  13. Instructions? What are those?
  14. All I can say is y'all must have a powerful rope! I'm involved in both, too! Of course, I need to get myself back at the model desk so I can work on both, too!
  15. I've been thinking that myself! I'd love to see how you could use your shrink ray on a big rig! If you need a little inspiration, Romell, check out the one I'm working (stalled) on right now. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28849&st=0 My scratchbuilding skills are no where near yours, but I've been trying new things with my project.
  16. Sorry to hear about your Grandmother and also your friend, Chris. My thoughts and prayers will be with them and you and your family.
  17. There's only one problem with that, Del. I haven't found any resin 7.3 Liter diesels, so I will probably use the kits 460 as a base for the diesel. Also, just in case you may be talking about the pic of my old tired 1:1 engine from earlier in the thread, that isn't a 460, that is my 1:1 diesel!
  18. Thanks for charging up the old brain cells for me, Mark! Even though I know my friend has the Indy Pace car, believe me, I've tried everything short of stealing it to get it from him , the Revell Cobra turbo was the one I was thinking about! If I remember now, it was red on the box, wasn't it? I just really couldn't remember if they were hatches or not. Thanks again for clearing my head!
  19. Didn't Monogram or Revell also do the Indy Pace car as a 1/24(25) scale kit? I have a friend that has one of the pace cars, which I think came with a motorcycle. Or was that kit a hatchback?
  20. Thank you for the kind words, Mike. I enjoy helping out whenever I can.

  21. Thanks for the info on test shots, Art. It sounds very interesting!
  22. You're correct, Michael, it is just like AMT's 1/25, and that's because both are Freuhaufs. Thank you to everyone that has added their names, and since Jim put some new life in the old thread, thanks again Jim, maybe we'll get even more names!
