  1. I like the pro street look, too, Brian. Even though it would have been nice to see the A Team redone, I think you're heading in a much better direction.
  2. You're welcome, Doug. Of course, I forgot, if worse comes to worse and Eric can't get another one from his mold for you, there is one other possiblity for you, even though you were asking about the FLD 120 and not a Classic XL. This is a 1/32 scale New Ray diecast/plastic toy I found at a truckstop. I don't know if they did an FLD 120 also, but I've seen some of New Ray's things on ebay from time to time. Of course, that is what I wanted mine for, so I could build a Classic XL like a couple I drove, I also got this from Eric for it.
  3. Porky posted this thread last weekend: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33138
  4. Nice job Bob, I just picked that issue up last night and seen it. I did have a couple questions for you though. Is that the Revell or Revell AG kit? Do you know if the Revell AG version is just the Revell kit in the German box?
  5. Doug, here are a few pics of probably the last roof to come from that mold that Porky did for me. As you can see, it is just as Porky said, it requires a lot of clean up work. The portion that he said was thin due to the mold damamge was so thin you could see through it! It may be a little rough to see, but in this pic, there is a puddle of resin where the back wall and roof come together where more resin was added for support. Now don't take me the wrong way, I by no means am bashing Porky's work here, I'm just backing up what he said about the condition. I even asked him permission before posting these pics! These were the first things I bought from him, and I have bought more since! He's my number 1 for truck parts. You'll be seeing these show up on my current build soon! Well, everything but the air cleaners, they are for another build! Here they are mocked up on the truck.
  6. I about lost my lunch with that first thing, and that would be a major feat since I haven't even eaten lunch yet!! Of course, the truck is cool in my opinion! It must just be a trucker thing! I would drive it, but I would definitely need to get rid of the U Haul/junkyard camo look. I would say that started life as a U Haul 24 foot van, and a paint job would do worlds of wonder for it! I think it's nice an old workhorse gets a second chance at life, and I may be biased in that opinion, since my daily driver was also a workhorse in it former life! I have a 1990 Ford F350 dually that started its life as a tow truck!
  7. My thoughts exactly!!! Those front headlights look like nothing that a Vette ever had, and in my opinion, make it look to Camaro-ish.
  8. I agree 100% with George! Well, at least 100% on behalf on Porky, anyway! Don't get me wrong, I'm not say anything bad about Kenny, I just have never bought anything of his, yet! I have bought some truck parts from Porky, and he is wonderful to deal with! His work is just like George said, TOP NOTCH, among the BEST out there, an EXCELLENT caster, and the parts are DEFINITELY worth every penny! Whenever I need truck parts, I contact Porky first! I'm sure with the wonderful things said here about Kenny, I'm sure I'll start dealing with him, too!
  9. VIRTUAL PUNCH!!!!!! Slug bug red!! Oh, I forgot, another VIRTUAL PUNCH!!!!!!!!! Slug bug white!
  10. I have the red one on the box, but it was molded in white, too! I also looked on the chassis pan, and Revell's copyright date on the one I have is 1985, but the box has a date of 1999, so it's probably safe to say the red box art issue is just a straight reissue of the one with the white car on the box. I did check mine, and there are decals in it, but I'm sure there is nothing on the decal sheet the Flower Power decals can't cover! All that is on the decal sheet in the red version is two sets of front and rear license plates and a decal for the speeedometer.
  11. Thanks for the info, Marc. I'm wondering, since you both know the color better, do you think it would go well with the paint I have on my truck? I know this is Gregg's thread, but I need a color for my truck's frame! By the way, since this is Gregg's thread, I'm just asking about the color to Marc and Gregg! After all, it is the Big Kahuna's thread, so it's all about him! If any one else would have a suggestion, please do it in my thread of the build, not here! Here is a link to mine so as not to hijack Gregg's thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28849&st=0 Please remember, it's all about Gregg's builds here!
  12. Thanks for the updates, Johnny, and I'm still continuing to think and pray for you and yours.
  13. Same in my book, Mark, and especially Freightshakers! I just love my Freightshakers, and have a soft spot in my heart for a nice Classic XL!
  14. Gregg, I'm not seeing much flip in the paint, but I also know firsthand flip-flop colors don't photograph well. What colors does the paint change to? Also, would you like a darker color, especially if you do the above the beltline idea? If you would like a darker color, here is one I found at my local Lowe's store, and it would even stay with the flip-flop theme. Now you know how I know firsthand flip-flops don't photograph well! The blue and purple seem to be the predominant colors in pics, but depending on the light, I have also had it change to teal, magenta, and even a little red and gold thrown in. The paint is Rustoleum Colorshift Galaxy Blue, and is sprayed on a gloss black basecoat.
  15. Didn't someone post this car before??
  16. This is the first I seen this thread, but it looks interesting. Even though this doesn't show what's on the bench right at this moment, here's my little slice of heaven. I have the moose bar for this truck on the bench right now modifying the hood hinges so the moose bumper and hood will tilt as one unit.
  17. That looks wonderful! What size C Channel did you use for the frame?
  18. Would that make it a Petermon or a Marmobilt?!? Of course, that's just another fine example!
  19. I kinda figured you might be! I, too, am out of the truck now, I started having problems with high blood pressure last June and lost my job, probably because of the blood pressure issue. I haven't been on the road since, just working on the little ones! I had about 1.5 million in the seat, but not so lucky on the unticketed part, thanks to those fine Ohio State Troppers! Anyway, not to take this thread off the wrong exit, I'm still thinking and praying for you and yours, and if you want, feel free to PM me, Johnny. We'll sit around the internet truck stop counter and tell some trucker stories!
  20. Actually, Brizio, if it is the issue of that kit with the red car on the box like the link I posted for you for the instructions, I don't think there were any decals in that kit. I might be wrong, but to find out for sure, I have that kit and will check it in a little while. If it does have decals, and you can print your own, I would be more than happy to scan them for you.
  21. You're quite welcome, I'm always happy to help! By the way, that second link is their home page so if you or anyone else needs any other instructions.
  22. Thanks again, Carl. I will check them out.
  23. Thanks for the update, Johnny! I'm very happy to hear you had good news. You will stay in my thoughts and prayers. By the way, and I can't believe I never noticed it before, but by the phase in your sig line, are you one of my brothers of the superslab?
  24. Here, this should help you out. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/instruction_sheetsh/instruction_sheets/revell/vw-beetle-convertible/ I have found the Drastic Plastics instruction site quite helpful in the past. Here's a link to the home page as well. http://www.thedpmcc.com/instructionsintro.html I recently got a kit in a trade that had no instructions, and found them thanks to their site!
