Nice job, I like the paint job. Where's the trailer, let's see it, too! By the way, Dennis, it looks like it might be the AMT T600 with better wheels to me.

Jerry, I'm not trying to start nothing here, but will you please respect John and stop hijacking HIS thread? Your builds are nice, but I'm sure John would much rather you show them off in your own thread, not HIS! I know I would not care for you hijacking my threads.

It rotted away!!! Wonderful job, Chuck.

I just had to get you on that one!! The only Testor's sprays I ever use anymore is the new lacquers, they come out very nice compared to the regular junk. Of course, I have an airbrush I've been wanting to use too, but it's just a little cheap one with air in a can that I've had for 4 years. I'd say get some brake fuild and give that body a bath, and if you do get the airbrush figured out, spray it with that. If you go the rattle can route, get some DupliColor at the auto parts store, it's never done me wrong! -

The way those mock up pics look, Dennis would have the roof space to put both the a/c and air deflector on if he wanted. -

I'd say for the bottom line, you could sand it completely off and use some Evergreen Strip half round to reinstall it. As for the top line, you may be able to do the same thing, except making the squared off groove you were afraid of making, then use the Evergreen quarter round rods in the groove to add the line back in. I don't know if it would work or not, but it's an idea. Maybe pratice on the remainder of the cabs before you goof the good one up. -

Oh, but the wonderful feeling you get from the fumes!!!! I made the same mistake with regular Bondo over the winter. Three feet of snow on the ground, temps barely in the teens, and every window in the house OPEN!! By the way, I wonder when they changed the putty? I just recently bought, maybe 2 or 3 months ago, a one pound tube in a red box of the Bondo Spot and Glaze putty, and it was still the low odor dark reddish brown putty. -

Believe me, I will stay tuned!! -
You know, Skip, I was going to agree with you that it was a model, but I found one little detail that I will reveal Friday that screams real!! I had to zoom in the pic a lot to see it, but it is a detail I have never seen replicated on a model before.

Thanks, I see that now. It looks like it has flares or something on the back fenders that were making me think it was a truck, but I seen the back seats this time, too! -

Is that what you get when a corn binder crashes with one of those awful Peterbilt football helmet looking cabovers?? -

Nice job on the tractor, Scott. The white trailer sounds alright, but I prefer stainless trailers myself, especially on an owner operator style truck. I'm not trying to hijack your thread, but I thought maybe this pic would give you an idea. I used Elmer's sprayable craft glue to attach good old household aluminum foil to the sides and roof. I, of course, left the shiny side out on the sides to replicate the stainless steel sides and I put the dull side out on the roof to replicate the aluminum roof these old trailers had. I burnished it much the same as you would Bare Metal Foil, and even though it's a little thicker than BMF, it shows the engraved detail such as the rivets and ribbing very well. -
Don't feel bad, you're not the only one he fooled! Those engines are wonderful, do you sell them since you said this one is a resin copy of your master? Do you have any for Nissan Skylines? I'm not much for 'Yotas, except for a select few, but me does love a nice Skyline! Also, since I'm not that up on Toyota lingo, what exactly is the TE27 Levin? A Coralla? Supra maybe? I'm going to be watching this take shape no matter what.

You got me drooling already!! I guess I'd better get a lot of rolls of Bounty and a couple spare keyboards on standby!

Three words: Dawn Power Dissolver!! I've found this is great and quick for removing chrome. The parts in the picture were dechromed in about 3-4 hours. I would say it would probably be safe on the tires, too, but if you have an old tire, I'd maybe test it on that before doing the ones in your pic. I wouldn't want you to be mad if it melted the tires!

I figured since a great thread always needs pictures, and seeing Dale Jr's beautiful tribute car in last nights Nationwide race, I thought I'd help bring back some more memories of Dale Sr's #3 Wrangler car. I've been a fan of Dale Sr's for a very long time, and he is still my favorite driver. I have accumulated a large collection of Dale Sr memorabilia through the years, and this has got to be one of my favorites. It is an Action Racing Collectables diecast from their "Dale: The Movie" line of 12 of Dale Sr's most memorable cars. This one is his winning car from May 17, 1987 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in "The Winston", the famous "Pass in the Grass" car. It's mounted on a custom display base and is weathered in what Action calls their "Raced" editions. Enjoy.

That's right, from what they were saying in the rain lengthen pre race for the 400 tonight, that will also be the last time Jr's in a 3 car, too. It was a nice tribute to his father, though!

Nice builds! Are you sure the Goat isn't Root Beer, too? It looks like the same color as the Monte to me.
-
You're welcome, Romell, and I'll believe you got that shrink ray when I see flames shooting out of the model's exhaust from that monster under the hood!
-
Both look stunning! Even though I love the new Camaro, the last pic is just the way it should be, with the Ford in front!

In my opinion, Gregg, I think the white top (just the roof panel) would make it stand out better than the two tone black and purple combo. Of course, though, I think some of those old Caddies like that had a like a satin brushed type stainless steel finish on the roof panel, didn't they? I think that with the black and purple would look killer!

Looks like you got some nice pics. I wish you would have taken more of that "Hot Wheels" Beetle, though! Are my eyes playing a joke on me, or is that thing a pickup? If it is a pickup, that would have been great to try to replicate with more pics.
