  1. I got some good used motor oil to put in it to give it the "raced" look!!
  2. That looks nice enough to get in and drive off, but I don't think it would make it very far with no oil on the dipstick!!
  3. Here's a link that might help you: http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/trucks.htm There are many old truck and even old company galleries, and there is also a search for the site you could try to find what you are looking for.
  4. Thanks, and I will keep watching! It looks like both the 1:1 and the model are going to be beasts!
  5. Ken, here are a few pics showing the main reason for the headache rack on the truck. This is the rectangular tubing I used for a sleeper mount and frame stiffener. That runs all the way from here to all the way to the cab mount just forward of my front cut in the frame. I decided the headache rack hides the tubing nicely, and the little that could still be seen from under the rack's deckplate appears to be the deck's mounts. I also like to have trucks with some options of hauling different trailers, so I could also have my flatbeds or lowboy on the back of this. One future idea I already have for this truck is hauling a lowboy with a 1860s era steam engine on the deck, and yes, the train is 1:25 scale!
  6. This is the first I've seen this build, I guess I should pay more attention!!! I read through the whole thread, and all I can see is WOW, I'm speechless!!! Great work and I will definitely be waiting for updates! Since it shows you have mad skills, what do you use to attach your brass pieces to the plastic pieces? I have tried to use brass in a couple builds and it seems neither ZAP CA or 5 min epoxy want to hold to the plastic very well. Am I using the wrong glue or am I just not doing something right?
  7. That looks great, Richard. I have wanted to get one for a long time, but haven't done it yet! Are the tarps or bags or whatever those things are on the front fenders in the kit or something you added? Harry, what's the deal with the keyboard pic? What are you trying to say? Terry, your build looks nice too, but it's not really nice to highjack someone else's thread. That's just my opinion.
  8. IT FIGURES!! I at least had an idea on ID Quiz 4.0, no clue on this one!!!
  9. The color I have always heard of for the Detroits is called Detroit Diesel Alpine Green.
  10. Looks nice, all of them. You do know you can put the IMG code in where you write the post for the pics to show in the post.
  11. Looking good! I thought maybe you forgot about it!
  12. WOW, that is impressive! You have some great scratchbuilding skills. Did you make and design the decals as well?
  13. Ok, just like your Cuda you did for this one.
  14. COOL!!! That will give me an excuse to build the 69 Charger Daytona I've had on the shelves for years!
  15. IT FIGURES!! This was the first one I even had a clue of what it was!!! At least I'm still undefeated in ROM, though, I think it's 5 for 5 or 6 for 6 there!
  16. Eelco, I seen in another post you didn't have an idea how you could figure out a "winner", when you do the "Under Glass" post for the finished products, set it up as a poll post, just an idea. I just wish I would have known about this sooner! I really can't wait until they put a "Community Build" section here!
  17. Thanks, modeltruckmafia (didn't see your name anywhere), and thanks for the pics of yours! I esecially like the Pete 377, I have been trying to think of a way to mount my wing to the sleeper, and I like the way you did yours. It looks simple and does the job! By the way, what size is that sleeper, it looks a lot like the 230 inch I have planned for a future build.
  18. Thanks, and belive me, I can't wait to get the paint on it!
  19. Thanks, Ken, and the mock up with the wing and A/C, plus the parts I got from Porky, is what I have in mind for the final product. I can't dump the headache rack, though, because even though I don't need a headache rack hauling cattle, I may also use this for other trailers later. The main reason it's on there, though, is it is hiding the square tubing I have glued to the top of the frame rail as a sleeper support and frame stiffener. The tubing sticks far enough out from the sleeper that the rack and deckplate for it covers the added tubing, and the tubing is also past where I cut the frame to add support there.
  20. Yeah, Bradley, it's a little crazy, but I'm a little crazy, too! Actually I have used my scale rulers on both, and the real truck would be 2 feet shorter in 1:1. The truck is 1:24 and scales to 38 feet long, and the AMT trailer is 1:25 and scales to 40 foot long, but I have never been one to nit oick between the two scales! If I would have had an extra trailer, I would have made a 53 foot spread axle like a more modern trailer, but oh well.
  21. That is one very nice Mack. I look forward to seeing more pictures when you can take more.
  22. Until they discontinue them, you still need to know how to fix them.
  23. Wasn't the latest T-Bird also based on that platform, and the Cougar based on the same thing like it always was?
  24. You are SOOO right about colors! I couldn't tell you how many builds I have sitting half built because I can't come up with a color choice!
