  1. I'm speechless... just when you think you've seen it all, someone like you comes along and upsets our world... Whatta ride!!! Words fail me at this point . Lets just say, I am following intently!
  2. Little Wicket looks like he approves! I don't think I've seen a build with so many modifications as this one... Keep up the good work. This looks amazing as it sits, I can't wait to see it shiny and complete.
  3. This is my mindset towards modeling as well! You are doing a phenominal job on this Charger. I love the look of it. Very unique, very clean and very nicely detailed!
  4. Now, I believe I've seen just about everything... Nice work!
  5. Wild! I love Highpowered roadbarges! That things a beast!
  6. Rest in Peace, Old Man... Your contributions to this society and to the automotive industry will not be forgotten!
  7. ...Or I-80 across Pennsylvania in the late '80's... Having driven many different trucks from a mid-30's Chevy 2-ton to a 2002, 9400 International Eagle, I agree that there is a lot to be said for modern air-ride technology...
  8. That engine is an International V800... This should help, as well... Mike, if you ask, I'm sure someone here has the instructions for this kit and would be more than happy to scan them and send you a copy...
  9. Can we see pictures?!? I have a friend who has one in his sights... I'd also love to add one to my 1/72 Sub/Patrol vessel collection.
  10. No crewmen in the Missouri kit but most of the later Dragon 1/350 ship kits contain a half-dozen or so injection molded crewmen...
  11. Like others have mentioned, laquers and humidity do NOT mix well together. It's just the nature of the beast. I have used duplicolor on numerous projects and have only had a few that didn't require a clearcoat to shine them up. I was going to clear them anyway so it wasn't an issue... I've noticed that Duplicolor Truck and Van paint is acyrlic laquer. Their regular automotive paint is acyrlic enamel. Duplicolor may be the only supplier out ther that offers a Laquer paint in rattlecan... Anyone know for sure?
  12. Everyone else has covered the whys and wherefores. The only thing I can add is this: Testors Wet Look Clear always works well for me, in cases like this...
  13. Beautiful, stunningly beautiful! After working on my Hornet, I find this to be one of the finest kits ever produced... You have produced another shining example of what can be done with an already excellent kit!
  14. Buy it now, 29.99 with 11.99 shipping.... They are still pretty affordable and this is in the ballpark for what these trailers usually sell for. Hope this helps! http://www.ebay.com/...=item589391d3ed This one's a few more dollars. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-KODAK-TRAILER-TRANSPORTER-VINTAGE-1-25-TRUCK-Model-Car-Mountain-KIT-FS-/140747219393?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c53021c1 There're usually two or three on eBay at a time. These are the same kits as the old moving van trailers, just redecaled... If you don't do eBay, I buy and sell so I could help you out...
  15. This is me...I'm on the left...
  16. I don't know about it looking better as a daycab but... it is a FINE looking truck! Beautiful!
  17. I think that this truck would look good with a custom painted 'NASCAR' dropdeck 40-footer behind it... I'd paint the trailer to match the truck... That would be a fine looking combo.
  18. We shall call you Jason then, instead of Lucifer... When I saw your title, I immediately started singing the song, it's one of my favorite Stones tunes! Welcome to the Jungle, to rip another Hard Driving song, We've got fun and games!
  19. Rest in Peace, Mr. Bell... I always enjoyed your work. Your talents will be sorely missed.
  20. Right now, I have 6 cars, two semis and 7 1/72 scale aircraft, one 1/144 Saturn 5 rocket and one 1/350 USS Missouri out, on the benches and tables, in various stages of completion... I have 'Modelers ADD' and cannot concentrate on one at a time...
  21. I'd love to see a pic or two of the SSD that your friend is mastering! I have the 1/2256 SD and would love to find a couple of the Anigrand kits to display with it like you have...
  22. TJ, That's a fine looking 12v71! And... I have now aquired a 16v71 for the Aerodyne weapons carrier. I know I said that I was using parts on hand, but in the Post Apoc world, what's to say that these trucks aren't being built in neigboring garages? TJ, what kind of truck cab are you looking for?
  23. This is a pretty interesting discussion. As far as my choices go, I have so many different interests in so many scales and my budget is so small that my standing rule is; If it's a really good deal, more than likely I'll buy the kit. When I hit Hobby Lobby, I go to the Clearance Section first. I've found many of my kits, of many different subjects for 50-75% off.
  24. Wow! All I see is one magnificent build! Weathering, details, everything! You, Sir, are a very talented builder! Your paintjob is breathtaking, this has got to be one of the prettiest paintjobs I've seen in a looong time! Wonderful job on repairing the holes in the sleeper roof. As for alignment problems of the side skirts... On the real deal they didn't stay plumb and perfectly aligned for very long. Little things like jumping up on the steps repeatedly or light contact with a foreign object or even hitting a large pothole and jarring the attachment points could and would misalign body panels. Yours is spot on perfect! It has a VERY realistic look about it! Another thing; You said that your roof repairs weren't perfect. That just gives the truck more character. It looks like a well maintained, very much cared for, working vehicle. I've seen many a rig with a paint patchjob here and there where the color is just slightly off or the patch is glossier than the older paint. I've done a few of these myself... On such a large vehicle, it just doesn't pay to repaint a whole panel just to repair a little gouge or scrape. Once you get the fairing mounted, you'll never know it was patched. If someone comments on it, tell them their looking to closely! Again, very well done! I really look forward to seeing this completed.
