  1. I believe you are correct, Larry! I think this is a lime spreader. When building up a road base, the ground has to be a certain 'hardness' to keep the road from settling. One of the ways to harden the sub roadbed is to mix powdered lime into the clay hardpan. This truck would spread the powdered lime and then a sheepsfoot roller would come in behind to mix and compress the soil.
  2. John, very nicely done! You keep raising the bar... I know that I couldn't have done this one justice the way you did! --------Fair warning! The following contains an OPINION!------- I'm not trying to step on any toes or start an arguement but... others have commented and as a 'Truck Modeler', I feel like I must as well... My opinion: The Ford/FL conversion looks OK to me. No, it's not perfect, John even admits to that in the build thread but, it WORKS! It was built for his Father, not for this board and I'll bet it was very well received. I know that I couldn't have done any better on that cab conversion, myself. Having closely followed the build thread, I can really appreciate the effort that went into finishing this beast. I look forward to your next project!
  3. Beautiful! Very well done. I love the Sherman's...
  4. Excellent!!! I'll post a few pics of the truck as soon as I have something to show...
  5. I have one I just started that would be worthy of this CBP... 1965 Chevy stepside, EFI inline-6 I'm using the shortbed/fleetside cab and frame with a '57 stepside bed and the EFI-6 from one of the Street machine kits... I've JUST painted the body and started on the driveline so, can I still play? I'm going to use it as a tow vehicle for the inline-6 powered dragster I built earlier in the year... Here's a couple of teasers of the dragster... 471 supercharger on a Pontiac SOHC 6... It was built for a "What were you thinking" themed model car club theme.
  6. Inspiring!!! I will build one..... someday.....maybe...after numerous other projects get done... Well, maybe sooner. I have a Paystar 5000 tractor that'll need an appropriate trailer and this would be appropriate! Very well done! Thank you for posting your drawings and decal artwork and for posting such a well detailed build tutorial! I think we'll see more of these trailers in the future.
  7. Still here... A Little busy with life and such... My entry will be on the line by the deadline, no worries!
  8. Good choice! I always thought that a boat was simply a hole in the water into which you threw money... Also, in all my years, I've had better luck fishing off the bank than I EVER had in a boat...
  9. Very nice! I currently have two of these kits, one I'm working on swapping in a fuel injected big block... This is a very nice kit to build. The fit's good and it's really accurate.
  10. Aitfix makes a 1/35 scale walking beam steam engine kit. I saw it in Squadron.coms catalog. But... It's 6" high and 7" long which would scale to 12' tall by 14' long... Maybe you could use some of it's parts to bash what you want.
  11. Beautiful! I love this kit and it looks great in its USFS finish!
  12. Ron, I've said it to you before.... You, Sir, are NUTS!!! Very nice Model T! I finished this same kit as a pickup, it's in the case at the hobby shop. You need to display this one beside it for comparison...
  13. It's no small wonder you've been MIA for a while.... Creating those decals must have been a real chore! Looking great, John! Looking great!
  14. I absolutely love to see old relics like this brought back to life! Keep up the great work!
  15. That's why I usually offer up,'Blessed Memorial Day'... Because we are blessed with the freedoms and liberties that so many sacrificed everything to insure. Amen to that!
  16. That's a nice collection of rebuildables! I am definitely interested in a couple copies of the turbos and superchargers. I have that 16V now and other engines that could use some 'inspiration'...
  17. I think you could get the door handles out of a '50 Ford PU kit... If not, the reissue '40 Ford PU will have them.
  18. Swap the hood to the sleeper cab. Less work, no seam to fill... You gotta open the hood anyway. That's gonna be INSANE with the 12v71 you have planned for it!
  19. It's looking good! I like how you're fine-tuning the body with the small filler panels and such. I like the vent placement and the split Cord Windshield will look awesome!
  20. I'm really looking forward to seeing The Challenger I reissued! I'll definitely be picking up one of those...
  21. Wow! To me, it's really not that ugly a truck... It has a certain appeal to it. 10.75mpg from a mechanical 3406 in testing is a very respectable number. When I was getting 6.7 out of a 2001 Eagle, the boss said, 'Keep up the good work'... Couple this tractor under a 53' van with the new, underside wind splitters and see what happens... If I were an owner operator, I'd'a took a chance on one...
  22. VERY NICE!!! I always did love the looks of this truck...an now.. I's seein' double! Truly beautiful work, Roy!
  23. No rust is a good thing.... Especially in Indiana, the land of salted roads and rusty rocker panels.... Very nice looking old Survivor!
  24. Thank you, Ken! Those are pics that I don't have! I have been down, medically for the last couple of days (My back 'went south' on me last week and I'm to where I can sit up and walk without much difficulty again) so nothing new to report or show. I've had one MRI, numerous Dr. Appointments and several Physical Therapy sessions to occupy my time here of late... I will be back at it hopefully in the next couple of days and will have something new to show soon.
