Harry, if you can handle Pocher kits, that kit will be no problem for you. Don't think it's anymore difficult because it's a ship kit. It's a model kit, no different than anything else you've done in the past. Everything on this model was brush painted... If I can get these types of results, any semi-talented builder can too. Take your time, be patient and feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. The next Olympic Class I build will be the Britannic. I have a 1/350 Minicraft Titanic that's missing a few parts that will be perfect for this conversion.

I would definitely purchase a copy of a Modeling How-To book written by John Teresi! I'll be sure to buy stock in Alclad BEFORE the book hits the stands... John, when you first started, I was wondering how you would manage to pull off a Freightliner conversion from a Ford Aeromax but, by golly, you seem to have pulled it off. Amazing work! You should seriously consider sending your finished cab and hood to one of our local and friendly resin casters so that the rest of us truck modelers can share in the genius that is you. I don't think that there is a Freightliner like that on the market. It really would fill a considerable gap in the aftermarket truck market.

WHERE'S INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO DISASSEMBLE MOLDED MODEL CAR KITS?
Wagoneer81 replied to STONEY's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I really like the concept. You have taken this car beyond rusty to DISSOLVED!!! In that, you have done a fantastic job of distressing and weathering. you are a very talented builder. Two thumbs up! Having said that, the only critique I have is in your method of shooting video. I can't watch the entire video, it literally makes me sick to my stomach... If you could take some the jerky, spastic movements out and smooth your moves just a bit it would make for a more enjoyable, watchable show. Ben, This is in no means meant to be a slam or meant to be rude, I only say this because I tried to watch one of your previous videos as well and am sure I missed quite a few bits because I had to keep diverting my eyes to get the nausea to lay down and even then, didn't finish... -
Who's screwed it up - then weathered it?
Wagoneer81 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Happy Accidents!!! This same thing happened to a Chevy Titan 90 of mine... I painted the two tone (white over blue) peeled the tape and had part of the blue edge peel off with it. I looked at it for a minute and thought that it looked like a good start to a seam suffering from paint chipping and aluminum corrosion and began weathering accordingly... The Wilson livestock trailer that goes with the Titan suffered a similar fate with the paint pooling in structural corners and leaving bubbles that broke away to show the primer beneath... Once again looking like corrosion breaking through the paint. Seems this project was destined to become a well worn, beat-up local farm combo. I'll get some pics up if I ever finish it. -
Geeesh! That looks uncomfortably familiar... Well done!

Very nice little ride! I love it!

I'd gladly take a 1:1 Mustang in that good a condition for $950.00... Nicely done, Ron! The miniature model box is a nice touch. I'm glad AMT started putting little things like that in their kits... I have that Impala kit... Makes me kinda want to dig it out and work on it! I am sorry I missed the meeting this month. I will surely try to make the next one. My Hudson is coming along nicely!

Yost's "RAZOR'S EDGE" A NEW TYPE OF RACE TRACK KILLER

If any car ever screamed, "KEEP AWAY!!!" This one is it! Very interesting and original! -
As to the rear wheels, they should lay against the outside of the wheel bead just like the front tires. It's not really the builders fault as the directions can be less than clear if you're not familiar with this kit. You have to stretch them over the wheel just like you'd do when mounting a real tire. If you have trouble getting them to lay down properly, a little patience and some thin superglue should solve this problem. I've done this several times... This is the only real drawback that I see in this particular kit... I didn't notice it the first time around, otherwise a very nice build.

One thing I've learned about clicking on the Reply box, if you click toward the top of the text box, you will unintentially activate one of the text mods such as underline, or cross out... If you click in the lower half of the box, you don't have this issue... Thanks for your help, you helped solve my problem!

48 ft drop deck trailer scratch built
Wagoneer81 replied to Inky's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Shawn, when you originally posted pics of this truck, you spoke of doubts toward your ability as a modeler... Lemme tell you; You, sir, have nothing to worry about! you produced a very nice condo KW and then built this trailer from CARDSTOCK!?! A true modeler does exactly what you did, they do their thing with what they have on hand! I work in styrene when I scratchbuild and I pirated shots of this trailer to assist me in building mine! Having built a few of these Revell kits myself, how did you like working with that truck kit? I have a partially completed Pete 359 with a 9' condo conversion that I started from the Revell kit. If you didn't know, the Revell Pete and K900 kits are identical under the skin... Again, Well done! -
I'm seeing some really nice stuff here... I really need to work mine into the schedule... I have two 1923 Model T's to finish (an AMT Depot Hack and an AMT Budwieser Delivery Van) and then I'll have room on the bench. I have a Hornet to build for next months model club meeting but I can work on it and the '56 SD at the same time... On the big workbench, I have a commisioned 1/350 USS Missouri Sept, 1945 fit, to build... Life is good!

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Wagoneer81 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
I haven't posted in a while... I have a bit more done on the Aerodyne gun platform but, nothing worth writing home about, yet. Hmm, I really need some help, I wonder when Sasha the Welding Girl will become available for hire?!? -
Good job on the Caddy! Plus, one simple observation: Ever notice that the people who hate, gripe about, flame and slam the USA the most are the FIRST ONES to cry out for the guarantee and protection of 'Free Speech' provided by the document supporting the system that they swear to despise? Really? They hate this country but they shelter under the Constitutional Protection that it offers? The irony here is so thick, I doubt one of the above mentioned swamp buggys could power through it... Just my Biting Social Commentary for the day, we now return you to your regularly scheduled madness. God Bless AMERICA!

A well detailed model of a true Veteran Campaigner... I like it!

Very nice Fartbird... Err... wait! The Fartbird was the 6-cyl model... Nevermind! Very nice Firebird!!! Very nice detailing and a beautiful interior!

I have a few pictures and I see that clearly, now. I was wondering if that was how it was... I just wanted to make sure of what I was seeing. I'm not up on diesel engines and have never seen a system like that. I thank you for clearing this up for me. Now I know what I need to do. You've been a BIG help!

Very nice! I see the Postal Service is still on the ball... This, though, is proof that Moebius has a true modeler running things here! Which, to me, is one of many reasons why they'll succeed at what they do. Nice rescue work, Dave! That is a fine looking truck. It truly is a fine time to be in this hobby!
