I can help with the first one. With chrome parts you have to scrape off the "chrome" in the area you want to glue. -
Revell National Model Car contest
Kaleb replied to 2002p51's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For the inquiring mind, Revell wants to boost the popularity of the Hobby. The reason they want for you to buy a new one dated after Jan 15th is because most likely no one has built one of what is on the list. Some guys may have 2 or 3 of a kit and one built so it would be easy for them to enter "the newly bought car that has been built a year ago." They cant stop all older cars on their list being entered but this is one way to eliminate that possibility. Second reason it helps their pocket book with this kind of advertisment they will be making their way back for sure. All in all I will try to enter lol I still have not finished my JWAC build because of the front control arm and flat purple paint. -

What else do you collect
Kaleb replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I used to collect baseball cards, have no idea how many I have. Now I am more into tools and cars any scale mainly mustangs and getting into old muscle cars(hotwheels) I want to eventually have a diorama of a car show all muscle cars. My second hobby(collection) is anything mobile audio. -
The only way I have tried getting wider wheels to fit is cutting the part of the wheel that snaps to the chassis. The lowering is by cutting the part that the wheel snaps on to, and moving it up. Just my two cents.

Fast 5,......Really ?
Kaleb replied to kingiguana's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Air bud, air buddies, air air air, need I say more? yes I do...I have not wanted to watch a F&F movie since tokyo drift. Since I have no tv and dont watch movies anyway it doesnt apply to me. Any Sequel past at least the 2nd is lame. On another not I used to street race, and before you hound me about the dangers, we took precautions. F&F is no where near REAL street racing. -

I just sent a scripture(daily word) out this morning that may help. Its Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Remember if your going through a season of trials, there will be a season of blessing coming. -

help lowering front of the "stang"
Kaleb replied to cazxr2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You could cut the part the wheel actually attaches to. Then cut an L shape into the back piece and attach it to the top of the piece you cut it off of. I have a 99 cobra I done it do, worked great. -
Sweet just a side note you could put a clear cake cover over that turntable or something along those lines.

Wierdest Loads Ever?
Kaleb replied to Jim B's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Ive seen one haul a tonka road grater. One of the weirdest position loads I have seen was a load of cars(used) you had the ones setting normally and one on its front bumper something like this. _ _ / _ I was waiting for it to fall over. -
I had just found some on ebay just a few days ago and did not even thing about it.

Ever have "I can use that" Idea
Kaleb replied to Kaleb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow, now that's what I am talking about. Many uses from different materials. The banding for pallets is what I was talking about for grills in cars. It seems small enough in scale to do so -
Sweet Model score from the Goodwill
Kaleb replied to Radio Joe's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You have to keep going back, and back, and back, and again lol. I talked to someone at one of our local savers and he said usually model kits never make it to the shelf because of them being opened and they usually donate to some organization if they do not put them on the shelf. So here its rare to find them. -

Something else for you HVAC guys is the thermostat wire its 18 guage and good for something. I also picked up the string/twin that bricklayers use for rope like someone else had mentioned resistors from electronics make fuel filters. I just about forgot they have some type of tubing in the craft or jewelry section of walmart that you can use for hoses. **Edit the box binder is the white strap that goes over crates and stuff to stabilize it seems small enough for grills -

I love savers, I couldn't believe my eyes when I went in tonight. There was a dale earnhardt earlier model nascar a mark martin #6, 72 corvette, some guy just ahead of me got a factory sealed 37 or 39 ford truck couldn't see the last number. I picked the 1/6 chevy engine(sealed) and some other guy got a 1/4 Hemi. -
I will post some of mine later but here are a few things The cap that goes on a tube of caulk for cone shape air filter. Some plastic thing that I found on a house for fuel line, hose, etc. Plastic Straws from Capri-sun for the connectors for air intakes and the pointed tip for exhaust. wd40 straws etc etc Post yours here it may help others to get a project done. I looked for another post but did not find anything.

Be careful on converting those to deep dish, with the shallow wheel well on the rx7 the wheels are more than likely going to stick out.

I have worked on this same kit, and dont feel bad, beacause mine is setting on a shelf until I get this cobra done. Paint messed up on me and ran. I have had trouble out of this kit.
