  1. Hope you have a good day at work. Over the years I've worked many Sundays and of course I've also worked on every holiday as well.
  2. BTW, I should be wearin' my red Museum of Drag Racing cap at the show.
  3. I'm hopin' this show will give me more motivation to build as it will "kickoff" my winter building. Also hopin' to see a few members from this forum as well as other forums there and pick up a few things that I really don't need.
  4. Good find as I'm hopin' to find one of those '66 Chevelle kits at the swap meet tomorrow.
  5. The independent and mom & pop hobby shops that I go to have excellent selections of kits.
  6. Nice build on that Willys kit and that's the way they went to the drag strips back in the mid 60's. Either flat-towed or on an open trailer.
  7. I'll definitely need one also.
  8. Both my mom and my wife had 55 gallon tanks years ago and it got old helping them change out the water every so often. While aquariums are really neat, I have plenty to do without them. I think that the salt water aquariums with a living coral reef is just awesome.
  9. Lookin' forward to bein' at this show as I just finished an AMT Deuce Coupe today and while I do have a '55 Nomad started, I will be starting another kit this weekend. Don't know if I'll pick something up at the swap meet, or dig something out of my "stash."
  10. Nice build and decal work as I just love dem Mopars. BTW, the battery would be in the trunk on a real car.
  11. Real good job on that Duster build, of course I just love dem Mopars!

That looks good Dan, I like!
  13. Welcome to the forum as it is a great place to be.
  14. Well said, remember who you build for - yourself. I think I have plenty of trophies from years back for my model car building and they're in a box in the crawl space. I do build for myself and I enjoy this forum as well as others. I also enjoy being in model car clubs as well. Yeah, I'm havin' fun and I enjoy the hobby.
  15. That is a cool lookin' build John, nice job!
  16. Some models I detail, and some I don't. I build for fun and not as a career.
  17. Doesn't Competition Resins have some trannys?
  18. I have a photo of my 2 1/2 week old grandson on my desktop of my computer and that always puts a smile on my face when I see it.
  19. I would consider "streetable" if I can drive it from Chicago to LA.
  20. That is really good lookin' Brett. Another member brought one in to the club meeting the other night and said that he had a lot of issues with the kit. Even the decals, so his is no the "red" Garlits car. I used to be a "young American" once and then I got older.
  21. The 62nd Illinois Toy & Plastic Show will be held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois next Sunday Sept. 22nd from 9am-3pm. I hope to see some of you members there.
  22. You build some nice lookin' models my friend.
  23. Nice builds, both of them as I just LOVE dem Mopars!
  24. Finding stuff for any kind of modeling gives you the "thrill of the hunt" and makes it interesting. Like finding and old out of production and rare kit, the right wheels, the right color, the right aftermarket goodies, etc.
