I'm hopin' this show will give me more motivation to build as it will "kickoff" my winter building. Also hopin' to see a few members from this forum as well as other forums there and pick up a few things that I really don't need.
Both my mom and my wife had 55 gallon tanks years ago and it got old helping them change out the water every so often. While aquariums are really neat, I have plenty to do without them. I think that the salt water aquariums with a living coral reef is just awesome.
Lookin' forward to bein' at this show as I just finished an AMT Deuce Coupe today and while I do have a '55 Nomad started, I will be starting another kit this weekend. Don't know if I'll pick something up at the swap meet, or dig something out of my "stash."
Well said, remember who you build for - yourself. I think I have plenty of trophies from years back for my model car building and they're in a box in the crawl space. I do build for myself and I enjoy this forum as well as others. I also enjoy being in model car clubs as well. Yeah, I'm havin' fun and I enjoy the hobby.
That is really good lookin' Brett. Another member brought one in to the club meeting the other night and said that he had a lot of issues with the kit. Even the decals, so his is no the "red" Garlits car. I used to be a "young American" once and then I got older.
The 62nd Illinois Toy & Plastic Show will be held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois next Sunday Sept. 22nd from 9am-3pm. I hope to see some of you members there.
Finding stuff for any kind of modeling gives you the "thrill of the hunt" and makes it interesting. Like finding and old out of production and rare kit, the right wheels, the right color, the right aftermarket goodies, etc.
