  1. Awesome job on the Land Cruiser as I was in one a couple of years ago. It had a long wheelbase and couold go "anywhere."
  2. You don't know what cold is unless you've worked outside, all day long, all winter long, and for many winters.
  3. I'm too old to be in the Young Model Builder's Club, oh well.
  4. Because they don't have any Jo-Han kits, or they want more?
  5. I have a display case with room for more die-casts and also for another shelf or two(?). I also have a display case for my built ups with room for another shelf as well. I better get building.
  6. Great books Mike, both of them as I have them in my library as well.
  7. Graveyard Carz is just like ALL the other car shows, 5 minutes of cars and the rest of the show is the comedy hour. What a waste of time. And yeah I like Mopars.
  8. No, some have Hemi's and others have Wedges. I like the Color Me Gone kit for the Max wedge engine, hood scoop, wheels, tires, slicks, roll bar, etc. I buy this kit just to rob for parts.
  9. I just saw pics of the '48 Chevy on their website, and while nice, it's not joining my stable of cars.
  10. You mean that you didn't order one for me also? Guess I'll have to do it myself as I've heard about SCR from others as well.
  11. You said it all Rich.

    64 GTO

Nice build on the "goat" Jeff as I also used that kit to build Arnie "the farmer" Beswick's Mystery Tornado a few years back.
  13. I would behold that coupe as I was site-seeing in San Juan last month and no sooner did I turn off my camera aand put it away, did this drop-dead gorgeous XKE Coupe pull up to the stoplight. It was in a light gunmetal silver and just an awesome lookin' car.
  14. Just dig in your "other" pocket and buy it Harry.
  15. I've been to many swap meets and have seen sky high prices and resonable prices for the same kit. Some vendors will give you a break if you buy more than one kit. I usually cruise through the swap meet once before doing any buying and that way I can compare prices. The most fun I have at swap meets is seeing all the guys I've known over the many years in model car building and say hello to. There are good deals to be found and a swap meet is a LOT friendlier than a keyboard.
  16. I believe that it's the first weekend in October.
  17. Mike, you SHOULD be excited as you won't be disappointed. This is the 21st NNL in the Milwaukee area so that should tell you that this show can and will draw a great crowd every year. Bring some of your builds to display and enjoy the day. I can almost feel the electricity in this event already.
  18. Patience Harry, it will be here soon. Lots of weather forecasters mention the temps we had at this time last year but that was just a "fluke" and nothing more. I've lived here all my life and this is normal weather. I've even seen snow on Easter.
  19. I've used Spaz-Stix from a spray can on a few parts as well as resin and I'm happy with it, My current build has some parts sprayed in Spaz-Stix as well. I use it over Krylon Short Shots(?) Black that I bought at Hobby Lobby.
  20. What was the name of a national delivery company before UPS,Fed EX, and USPS, does anyone remember? I do.
  21. It'll be great to see you two guys again and I'm lookin' forward to seeing your great builds as well. Just don't let me drool all over them. LOL! Have a safe trip guys.
  22. A '48 Chevy? I've been limiting my die-casts to cars of the 50's except for some dragsters and Pro-Stocks.
  23. There will be plenty of room for your models Andy, so jump in and display some of your builds. Who knows, maybe one of them will end up on the pages of the "other" mag?
  24. The two-tone colors did help sell that Chrysler, and I just love the chrome and fins of the 50's cars as well.
