I finished this build the other day and had added a resin Six Pack hood, hood pins, spark plug wiring, oil pan drain bolt, guitar string antenna, wheels from the LRW kit, and the front wheels also steer. The paint is Testors Plum Crazy.
That's a LOT of Moolah and I would definately buy a piece of land and have a garage built for my car and a couple others that I'd like to buy. Set money aside for my children and grand child also. And of course travel as well as make a donation to my church.
I want to wish every forum member and their families a VERY Happy Thanksgiving. Be thankful for what you have as there are many people who have far less than what we have.
I used to live at Evergreen & Levitt Streets back in the 50's & early 60's and there was a candy/cigar store on the corner of Levitt & Division Streets that sold models there also.
Go to your local magazine rack and pick up all those subscription cards that fall out of them and onto the floor and use them for mixing pads as I have for years as I use a lot of epoxy on my builds. The cost is ZERO unless you start buying the magazines.
Mike, your admission price to the show gets you into the contest and there is NO extra charge. You will get a pass to get in on Sunday to pick up your models, be sure to ask for one. The show itself looks to be the best ever as this is the fourth year and I've never been disappointed with it in any of the previous shows. Bring your camera so you can take some great reference photos for future builds, I know I will.
While I don't shop on Evil-bay, my brother-in-law was kind enough to find this kit I wanted and to spend my money. It's a 1959 Lincoln Continental convertible and it was my very first AMT kit when I was a kid. While it is not a "pristine" kit, it has never been painted and all the major parts are there as well as the instructions and decals and the box looks pretty good for its age of 53 years. What's your holy grail?
